Just another example of a place that tries to use its flashy decor to justify the mark up on its low quality food. The hot and sour soup had no meat in it, all mushrooms and broth, and my crab rangoon app was burned around the edges, not very pleasant to eat, especially since it was cold because I had to drive back and PICK UP my hot and sour soup that they forgot to give me with my order. I found it kind of hard to believe since they had two employees working the front counter, one whose entire responsibility seemed to be handling the take out orders, got no apology just gave me my soup and sent me on my way...awesome customer service. My two entrees were almost identically cooked even though I ordered two separate dishes, they had the same sauce, the same vegetables, and the same cut/style of meat even though their traditional ingredients/sauces are not even the same. It was obvious to me that they were both just cooked together and one had peanuts added to it while the other had a piece of basil added (yes ONE piece). I could get the same quality food at a strip mall place without the markup for the decor. I just dont understand why there are so many places in charlotte that are following this trend recently, who gives a crap about how amazing the space looks when the food youre eating is awful?! PS I love how just about all the POSITIVE reviewers of this place have only written one review ever.

Note: This review is only in regards to their sushi and no other entrees or appetizers. We just moved back to Charlotte two weeks ago, and have been desperately looking for a new sushi place that would rival our astounding Asian River in Savannah, GA. This stop was one of our first. Wild Easts interior is appealing, but the sushi is sub par. While the rice was tasty, and the make of rice vinegar was delicious, the rice was cold. All sushi rice should be warm, as it should be coming fresh from the cooker. As per the fish, I had eel and tuna. The eel was not cooked long enough; it was limp like raw fish. Eel should have a soft interior and very soft crunch to the skin. The tuna was tasteless, either from a freezer or left for far too long in the case. The roll that the eel was placed atop of contained mango as well, which you could barely tell because the mango wasnt ripe. The flavor combination might have worked had the mango been aged, but instead the salt overpowered the dish. In the end, I might try to go back for standard entrees. However, the sushi did not hold its own. I was told that, had I had the brown/eel sauce on top, it wouldve been perfect. No sushi should -have- to have sauce to taste good.

We live very close to Wild East and finally tried it for the first time last year (they have been open for 3-4 years). LOVE this place. The sushi is very good and the curries and Chinese entrees are delish too (hubs gets Schezwan chicken or spicy basil beef). Its weird to have all types of Asian food on one menu--I generally avoid this type of place since it seems like its trying to be all things to all people but they do a really great job with what they have focused on. I like the specials too. The service can be a little slow but overall we always have a very good experience. They try very hard and that goes along way. We do take out and eat dinner in also. Good little spot.

The menu included many dishes from different Asian countries and were very similar to what I have eaten in Asia. The servings were somewhat small and the price was higher than expected. I would go back again, HOWEVER, I like soda and I had 3 refills in a small 8oz glass. When the bill came, they charged me for each refill. I complained to the waiter and he sent me to the front desk and she called the manager and he refused to adjust it. The menu does not say that there is a charge. I promised the manager that I would write a bad review every chance I get. I just hope that when they close, we can get a better restaurant in their location.

My husband takes us regularly to Wild East. We have never had a disappointing meal. The spices are always unexpected and the seafood cooked to perfection. The only problem I find is continually disappointing service. The wait staff are unfriendly, inattentive, and require repeated direction. My last meal was the Singapore noodles, a dry mound of noodles, shrimp chicken and curry powder... I ate my entire serving waiting for my drink to be delivered and no water was available on our table. The poor service is very frustrating when you pay that much for food. So be prepared, go for the food, not the ambiance or service.

First time here tonight and thank goodness we ignored the few negative reviews and listened to all the FIVE STAR reviews. We had General Tsos chicken and it was about the best we have ever tasted and even better the chicken had very little breading. And we had Double Happy roll and Hardy special rolls. Both were extremely fresh and delicious and matched some of the best sushi we have eaten in Charlotte, New York and London! The food was so good I placed a to go order to have as lunch tomorrow. As one reviewer said, please dont all rush at once, but this is a neighborhood gem. And the service was very good too.

Okay, I have read all the reviews. We started going there six months ago and before I ever read a review. The service when they first opened was not indicative of the food that was prepared for me and the family. We have eaten a dozen different dishes since we started going to visit this restaurant, and I have always been amazed by the food that we have enjoyed. The service has gotten better, but some of what had been experienced was due to a language barrier. For the cost and the quality, Wild East is almost as good as Tomi, but different.

This place was truly good! We went there for my husbands birthday and left pleased with our food, service and the price of our meal. The beers and house wines were $2 each and the appetizers and entrées were very reasonable as well. The quality of the food was great and the portions were perfect! They have coupons circulating around the Charlotte area right now, so we used one of those and our entire meal, with appetizers and drinks, was only about $50. We would highly suggest anyone trying it; we will definitely be going back!!!

Food from this place is pretty good for the area, but they get 1 star for (lack of) customer service. Did not get everything I ordered for delivery and what I did order was damaged by soup that did not have the lid on properly. When I called to inform them, the man was rude, argumentative, and blamed me for not opening my bag properly ? This is the place my family has been ordering from for the last few months but because of the way that man spoke to me we wont be back. They were overpriced anyway.

Love the food here. That guy down there claiming that the mall has better food is just being a pretentious a hole and has probably never had authentic sushi himself. Ive had a few friends that have had less than stellar service but personally Ive never experienced this. I never had to wait an hour for take out and I have never been charged for drink refills. I absolutely love the teriyaki chicken and the pad Thai noodles. The sushi isnt bad either.
