I was up all night with a two month old, out of coffee at the house, and thus got two kids dressed and in the car at 7am on no sleep and no coffee. Dropped 2 year old off at daycare and stopped at Java Jive for the first time. All I wanted was coffee...badly. I went in half asleep, holding my 2month old and after ordering a medium coffee I realized I only had one dollar bill in my wallet. I was told $5 minimum for credit card purchases. Even after explaining to the kid behind the counter that while I have no doubt that is their policy, he could in fact accept my credit card he still refused. I actually said in disbelief, "So Im just going to walk out without coffee", to which he replied "Yeah...sorry". It was a surreal experience. So I walked out (still carrying the sleeping 2 month old), went to Whole Foods and got coffee...with a CARD! Good job Java Jive on saving that nickel on processing fees! I go to a LOT of local coffee shops and the ALL accept cards. Coffee is a high volume / low $ transaction business. If in fact Java Jive pays exorbitant transaction fees, that is on them. It is absurd to choose a credit card processing plan that does not cater to your business. Needless to say, I wont be back and I will spread the word.

I will not be returning to this Java Jive. I walked in to meet a friend who works at Wake Tech and ordered a large coffee which costs $4.25, which was poured promptly. When informed of the price, I let the lady at the register know that I only had a credit card to pay with. She told me that she couldnt process a credit card payment less that $5. I had just eaten lunch and told her that all I had was a credit card again, to which she rudely replied that she couldnt accept that. I thanked her for her time and walked out. She wasnt apologetic or kind about any of it. Additionally, if they are trying to grow their customer base then they should accept debit/credit card purchases of any amount.

Java Jive is the only place I will buy coffee. I have NEVER found their employees to be rude. In fact, they make every attempt to get to know their customers. Several of them I know by name and they know me by name. I bring all my guests to Java Jive. A buddy from the Chicago area is a coffee connoisseur and he was very impressed with the way Cherie made his espresso, he said it was one of the best hes had. If you prefer to wander through life anonymously never meeting new people all while drinking mediocre coffee then stay at Star Bucks. If you want great coffee, great service, and a great atmosphere then Java Jive on the corner of Kildaire Farm and Lochmere is the place to be.

Looks like there havent been any reviews in the past year, so here goes. This place is awesome, it isnt even on my way to work and I come here 2-3 times a week for coffee. I am incredibly easy to please, just a large cup of regular (sometimes bold), but the coffee is made right, and tastes great. Leaps and bounds above Starbucks, and is better than Cup A Joe, which is the other shop I frequent. My only qualm is that they open at 6:30am instead of 6am. This means I can only get my coffee from here if I am running late! Its still worth it. I usually roll up right as they are unlocking the doors. To sum up, great product, excellent service. Go here!!

Great coffee. Grumpy staff. Ive been there twice and the most recent time, the lady behind the counter was having a spirited conversation with a "regular", laughing and conversing. I waited patiently until they finished and he walked out the door, expecting her to smile and wait on me in the same jovial manner. Instead I got a frown and the distinct impression that I had done something wrong by coming into the shop to order a coffee. No greeting. No apology for making me wait to pay for a $5 cup of coffee. No smile. No pleasantries. No customer service that makes me want to return. The coffee was good, though.

The employees are incredibly rude and have no respect for the customers. This is based on numerous trips, with numerous employees. Theyre snappy, and make you feel like you owe them something for taking up their time. I always take reviews with a grain of salt - but look at the number of people who are saying the same thing and you have to realize theres some truth to it. I wont go there anymore, and hope enough people are fed up being treated poorly so that they start to change. For now, theyre arrogant people who think they can survive regardless of how they treat people.

Grumpy staff that couldnt care less if youre there or not and that includes the owner. Coffee is burnt tasting and inconsistent. Ive been there for over a year because of easy access but now they stopped taking credit cards for transactions under $5. Hello, we are rapidly becoming a cash free society. Youre heading the wrong direction. This move is always against the use policy that Visa and Mastercard have with merchants. If youre going to take credit cards then take them for everything. Bad move. You wont see me again...Funny thing is they probably dont care.

This is a great place to relax and get some studying done. The service isnt fast but thats not something I would expect from a coffee shop like this one. It has a great staff that is always up for a chat. Compared to coffee corporations everything is reasonably priced. They use a manual espresso machine which I think makes their espresso drinks taste better. Their fresh made bakery items are very delicious as well. Great place to sit day and enjoy your coffee. My only complaint is that I wish there were more power outlets near the tables.

Good coffee just up from Wake Tech going back to N Raleigh. I was offering some consulting at Wake Tech and stopped in for a cup of coffee and to review some work items. They have Wi-fi for customers and I was told their Cafe Branca was a big hit.You have to ask for it. The music tends to be classic mellow rock which I love. Nice place for a one on one business meeting as well. Will add to the list for meeting people in this area. Another local owned and operated business.

What idiot starts a business on majority small fare drinks then doesnt accept the most common method of payment. Youre overcharging for the coffee as it is! If you cant pay your transaction fees get a different processor or charge more, dont turn away customers. This is idiotic. This place will either change its practices or go out of business all together, i hope its the former but it will likely be the latter seeing the other reviews on these idiots.

Extremely poor customer service over the phone. I called with a simple question, was greeted, I guess by the owner, who didnt seem interested in talking. She was dismissive from the moment I said "hi, how are you doing today?" and it went downhill from there. Topping things off, she hung up on me before I could end the conversation- that was already going nowhere. You couldnt pay me to go back and patronize this place. Very disappointing.
