Go. Here. Now. This I can safely say is the best breakfast Ive ever had in my life. Im from Alabama, I know good breakfast. Sadly, in college my breakfast life has been relegated to the sad existence of a limp, sad, cold Cliff bar. While vacationing in Asheville over my winter break, visiting family, and generally enjoying myself, I had a dream one night. A Force ghost of Ron Swanson appeared in a dream and bestowed upon me the coordinates of this great treasure. On the morning we were scheduled to trek back to the interstate and find our way back home on the cold, lonely Dwight D. Eisenhower Interstate System, we went here. This experience was divine. I decided to try the full breakfast, which consists of a biscuit, two eggs how you like em, and two sides. My two sides were bacon and country ham. The biscuits were what is known as a "cats head biscuit," which is a term used to describe a fluffy, golden breakfast staple that is literally the size of a feline noggin. I was not dissapointed. Golden crispy on the outside, fluffy white bliss on the inside. Biscuits: 10/10 The eggs I had over medium, which were amazing. Poking the eggs with the fork yielded the amazing golden river that was an egg yolk, and the eggs were amazing. I had to sop the yolk with my biscuit, and it was good. Eggs: 10/10 The bacon was not burned to a crisp, which in my opinion ruins bacon. The slices were thick and delicious. Bacon: 10/10 The country ham was delicious. True country ham is salt cured, and is not for the faint of heart. Usually you can take a slice of the stuff, chuck it in a pickle bucket of water, and be rewarded with a dry bucket. This was salty, fried, not every fatty, and absolutely delicious. Country ham: 10/10 The restaurant had a jam bar, using locally made jam and butter. I had the peach jam and the blackberry jam. Both were excellent, not too sugary, and wonderful on the cat head biscuits. Jam: 10/10 These people succeeded in making breakfast great again. Reward them with your business, and they will reward you with the best thing in an aluminum pan youve ever seen. Overall restaurant rating: 35/10

This place is as local and delicious as it gets. On vacation in Asheville over the holidays and we found the restaurant on Biltmore after a little searching. It is hidden in a strip filled with offices that unexpectedly house this gem. I had the Brisket Biscuit and it was fabulous, The biscuit was covered with smoky pulled brisket, cheese and pickled onions. The buffalo hollandaise added the perfect heat for a cold winters day. The poached egg on top cascaded nicely over the whole mess when popped. On my next visit I will be getting just some biscuits to use at the Jelly Bar which had a wild and varied selection of what I am guessing were home made or local jellies and jams. There were spicy ones, regular ones and some freaky combos that I am anxious to try. The whole place is tight and you are on top of each other in the dining area which they tightly manage. You only get in to order if there is a place for you to sit. I didnt notice how well they orchestrated this until I was sitting and observing. Every person we talked to from the order taker/cashier, servers and bussers were friendly and knowledgeable. The only complaint I had was that the well used tins they serve the majority of their meals in have acquired a concave curve from those massive biscuits (I assume). This makes them have a tendency to spin and I almost lost mine after a forceful cut to my food. I had to fold up two napkins and place underneath to stabilize the eating surface. After glancing around, many other patrons had done the same thing. We plan to return to Asheville in the Spring and we will be getting a meal of two here at that time.

Allow me to start by saying that theyre biscuits are a hard, dry, and dont hold form, they try to hard on theyre flavor combination to where they completely fail in all accords. Theyre only saving grace is there sauces which seemingly has everyone fooled, not to mention the business in general is adding to the way over gentrification of Asheville and in the process stealing business away from all the local businesses that have been here longer than most people/tourists/yuppies who live here nowadays. Furthermore the place is so crowded with a way to long line that all in all creates an atmosphere of a freaking amusement park; if your actually from Asheville, and when I say from Asheville I mean born a raised, youd see this whole tourist attraction of a spectacle utterly preposterous!

This place is fantastic! The food is amazing, with options for everyone including gluten free and vegetarian. Of course the biscuits are the main attraction but they provide house made butters and jams to dress them up like the stars that they are. Ive only had a couple of dishes so far and being vegetarian myself I can only give my opinion from that perspective and holy yumminess what a perspective it is. I must say however, good food is just the top of the iceberg here. Its truly the super friendly and helpful staff that keeps me coming back. This place gets pretty tightly packed, especially during lunch time and the folks that work here keep a very cool, biscuit head. Easy access and a great place to connect with friends or super convenient for a quick bite.

Left much to be desired and definitely was not worth waiting 20 minutes in the cold for. I had the Mimosa chicken with a side of mushroom bacon gravy, the coconut collards, fried green tomatoes, and Maple bacon latte. The Mimosa chicken was ok. I think it was too many flavors on a biscuit that I couldnt enjoy them all. The coconut collards were terrible. The fried green tomatoes were good. I couldnt taste the maple in the latte but the piece of bacon that came with it was amazing. So all in all Im giving it the stars not only for the food but because it was not disability friendly.

Biscuit head is an Asheville staple at this point. With 2 convenient locations in West Asheville and one closer to downtown, it is a must go to for breakfast or brunch. Although the lines are long they move quickly. The staff is so efficient and on the money it is remarkable to see. Many healthy options available if you dont want to eat a Biscuit the size of your head but you would be missing out. They offer a large variety of home made jams and spreads as well. This place is amazing!

I have been a fan of biscuit head for sometime. The food is great. The staff is wonderful. Today I had the beef brisket biscuit. It is one giant plate of goodness. The biscuits are always warm and fluffy. The brisket was perfectly seasoned with fried onions on top. It was nice and tender. You take all this and top it with a poached egg and Cajun hollandaise and its an otherworldly experience. So thank you again for delivering great food and a wonderful dining experience.

This location is usually very crowded, due to the fairly small space and great location. There are a few outdoor tables, but be prepared to wait a few minutes for a table. That said, theres a reason its crowded. Stuff is delicious, man. Their biscuits are obviously fantastic, and the butter bar makes the experience even better. Something often overlooked is their delicious fried chicken, which is among the best in town.
