Completely a horrible experience. . We went tonight for the prime rib my husband has been craving. We arrived at 630 pm its almost 9pm now and still havent been able to get a piece of prime rib that isnt completely dried out and well done. When we first arrived we were told they didnt have any left, then unbelieving we waited awhile longer. Went back up and asked again, and he was told in about 15 to 20 minutes they would have one thats rare. Went back after 25 minutes and they said another 10 to 15 minutes. Went back up again and it was so over cooked it was dry. During that wait the manager came around asking how was everything? We told her and she gave us 2.00 and apologized and told us if we wanted to wait it would be another 45 minutes, they just put another in. We waited another 45 minutes and this one again was so well done it was dry. We asked if they could give us some of the stuff that was cooking so it would be rare but were told once again that after 45 minutes it would be rare (curious that if the first 2 were well Done after 45 minutes, how would this one be rare, or maybe even just with some pink and not dried out) ??? Im handicapped and really didnt appreciate having to sit there for hours to get what we came for, and then not to be able to get what I needed to get done because I had to sit there all night. Its really sad that the restaurant couldnt tell you that first ...they didnt have any prime rib available for at least 20 minutes. ..2nd...that they werent going to make any that most people would eat. All because they wanted to take your money. I know if they told me that when I got here I couldve gone elsewhere.

Havent been to a golden corral in many years... But the food was actually (mostly) good. They had a fair variety of cooked vegetables that were tasty, the salad bar definitely could have been better (specifically the tomatoes). And the actual entrees were mostly fairly decent (the bourbon road chicken was even excellent, the grilled shrimp... Uh, not so much). But reason we went in first place, was for our seven year old. And he loved it; we go to buffets from time to time, but this place is like a kid Mecca. Honestly, I think it primarily caters to kids, knowing that theyll beg their parents to come back. The price isnt cheap (~$50/2 adults & 7yo, including 20% tip), but not really that crazy expensive either. The place was crazy packed, and the clientele (both young and old) was a bit... Unruly... The staff used their loudspeaker system to remind parents not to let their kids run wild... Yep, it was about like youd expect, Id guess. Honestly though, they seem to have improved their quality quite a bit since my college days, and we may even, possibly, be back.

So... Ive seen worse but I really think they excelled in authenticity! First thing that caught my attention was the dirt on the floor. Disregarding the atmosphere of the restaurant there was filth, lint, and litter all about the place just like a real corral! Every patron was clustered disproportionately across a vast plane of empty chairs that any cowpoke(what Im assuming they call their servers, because, I couldnt understand ours) could wrangle up our finished plates of scraps. The food was...fried. And Plenty. If the lettuce at the salad bar were alive it would be begging every cattle and steer to cross its path to put it out of its misery. For the first time in my life I had burnt squash. Squash that tasted like it just survived a ten state cattle drive-I truly felt corralled and for the price force-fed like most cattle in the beef industry today. The best part of the meal was when my dining companion sat down and made a hilarious faux pas about the clientele of the establishment i.e. not the food. and I ate a lot of dessert.

We ate at the Golden Corral in Punta Gorda, FL on 7-12-13. When we walked in I noticed the sign had ages grouped on their signs. Would seem to me if you are going to put ages on a sign that price should be different from regular adult and senior citizen. I had the fried chicken, turnip greens and mac & cheese for dinner. The chicken tasted like fish (fried in the same oil), the turnip greens, the cook needs to learn how to cook FRESH turnip greens, these I know are frozen and heated up, no taste whatsoever, and macaroni & cheese, was a little nasty. My son had the hot wings, now he LOVES hot wings, but these were sooooo hot he could not eat them, my husband didnt east too much either. The coffee tasted really old like it had been sitting all day. The food stations were not kept clean, it just looked as if it had not been cleaned all day. It was the most disgusting experience I have ever had at a Golden Corral. Wont ever eat there again.

The Walmart of restaurants. Last time we were there we saw two young girls playing in the chocolate fountain. One of them dipped a marshmallow in it and took a bite, THEN re dipped it. When I said something to the employee right there she asked the girls if thats what they did, they of course said no, and the employee didnt bother to change any of it out. I get its a pain to do it, but for the health and safety of everyone eating there it should have been done! Gross!!

We have been there many times and the food has been great. Last week we went because of the prime rib. Must have different cook because the prime rib wasnt good, very chewy. My wife asked for rare and the lady told her she didnt have any left. My wife asked her were they cooking any more and she said yes. It seemed to be a problem for her to go cut her a piece off that one. Finally she did. I had to eat med well. Not a happy camper
