Waiter kept reaching over my food after I asked her 3 times to not reach over my plate. Waiter didnt come back for 20 mins. Fork had food on it from some other customers order. Party behind me was African and I am African American so its not an race issue, but their kids kept coming under my table, their waitress came out with a tambourine and started beating it on their table to make the kids calm down after the parents couldnt control their children. Then the Africans wanted to take a picture directly behind us and had their asss on our backs. And the customer service sucks, the waitress would come and say " is everything good great fine? Then walk away in 0.2 seconds before waiting for us to respond. Then a kid came and put his teddy bear on our grill thats on our table. Not only that... They put you at a table with 10 to 15 other people you dont know, so if your looking for a private dinner forget about it, youll be sitting and having conversations with people you never met before, instead of the people you came with. Horrible experience for $140 for a 3 person meal. Avoid sitting behind people or africans if you go, African American people no problem but avoid the Africans at all cost, they dont monitor their children unfortunately. And avoid this place if possible

Here is my experience taking my family to Benihana last week. It was pouring out, and when we came inside, the hostess-a young hispanic girl- barely acknowledged us. There were 3 waitresses who stared at us with a look of displeasure. We informed the hostess we did not want to wait for the hibachi table and would like a regular table. She did not even make eye contact with us, pointed away from her while texting and without looking told us to seat ourselves in a section off to the side. There were only 2 top tables in the area and we stood there for a minute or two until a waitress asked us if we wanted to put a table together. At this point Im standing there with two young kids-one autistic and another a five year old and a manager(male) came out and asked us if we wanted to be seated. He was cool. I was so mad about the whole situation I said in front of everyone- "lets go to PF Changs--and we did. I will NEVER enter that restaurant again. It was a wednesday night around 600pm.

Food had no flavor, ate the shrimp tempura, flavorless, the fried rice, flavorless and also the salmon and lo mein n veggies all flavorless. If youre looking for someplace clean, not this place. They need to hire a restroom attendant, its horrible in those bathrooms n no toilet paper in the stalls. Also, I would prefer my hibachi cooked by an Asian, not a racist, but food taste better cooked by the person who is a part of the culture not a Mexican. All the tables for hibachi were Mexican cooks and no jokes! So if youre looking for a funny asian and LOTS of laughter n entertainment, not this place. They are completely quiet n no complimentary saki drinks either.. smh. Worst hibachi Ive ever been to. I HIGHLY recommend Edos in the Bronx or Izumi hibachi in Long Island is the BEST! Benihanas is OVERRATED, hood ppl still bigging this up. Waste of time..

Horrible experience. Will never come back again. I used to love this place. At one point in time there were actually Japanese chefs and it truly was authentic hibachi. Now, the only japanese people in the place are the waitresses. Everyone else is hispanic (Im hispanic so not trying to be discriminant here). Imagine going to an "Authentic" Mexican restaurant and seeing Asian cooks. It just doesnt seem right. Aside from that, our chef was boring and the service was awful. After dinner we were rushed out of our table. It was so bad that once we paid the check the cleaning crew arrived and was literally cleaning up around us. We will never come back again. Will have to try Gashos next time. To spend $200 for dinner for 7 people and receive horrible service, ok food, and then being rushed out... No thanks!

Had a reservation at 6:00 we had to wait 32 minutes just to get a table which shows they dont honor reservations. One reason I go to hibachi is to have authentic Japanese chefs, and there are no Japanese chefs. Salad was ok, soup was ok, all vegetables were separate, who wants to have separate zucchini, separate mushrooms, and separate corn? Why? Our chef kept messing up with his tricks, and he broke the egg while he was spinning it. They didnt have any fire, except for the onion volcano. No broccoli/zucchini catching, no saki, no saki, no happy! Food was all good, but they kept messing up all the tricks! Our chef almost got it, but kinda brutally failed. This is why this place gets one star :(

This placed used to be authentic but now they just rush you and the service is lacking. The chefs are not Japanese - what is up with that? They used to give 3 sauces with the meal, now only 2. Our meal came with green tea but at the end of the meal, they just brought the bill and left us. I had to go find wait staff (which wasnt easy) to ask for our tea. They forgot one of our salads so my daughter gave up hers and then they never brought a replacement. They are cutting corners everywhere and the prices are not cheap. I agree with other reviewers....Go to your local Japanese restaurants if you want to enjoy a Hibachi experience. This place is going down hill.

This was worst experience ever. The poorest management. I called in twice to make and confirm the reservation. Went to restaurant 10 minutes early. Told my name my phone number and my reservation dissapeared. I showed him my phone showing when I called twice. The waiter told me he will assist me quickly. 21 minutes later I went to the counter and asked how long. The lady at the cointer rudely told me "we told you minimum wait time is 30 minutes" Nobody told us. Such abig fame of Benihana with worst management and very rude waiteresses worst worst worst. Do not go this place

Benihanas does Hibachi best, and everyone knows it. From its theatrics to its food, everything is exceptional every step of the way. The spicy hibachi chicken is ACTUALLY spicy. As an individual of Bengali descent, I know what spicy is and get irritated when food that is supposed to be spicy is not. But Benihanas did spicy right and I loved it. It is pricey, around $23 but worth it. Dont be tricked into getting chicken fried rice (it costs extra). Just get regular fried rice because you get chicken hibachi anyway and save some money.

Disappointed! Ive been going at least once a year, every year, practically since they opened. Where did the Japanese chefs go? Where did the quality service go? Our chef was not amazing, had no charm, and over-cooked everything. The waitress showed up to take the order and give us our bill. Im going to wait a few years, so that they may set things right. Advice to the owner, split up the room a bit. I heard Happy Birthday ten times because there are no partitions in the cafeteria size dining hall.
