With a title like that, lets start with the ugly. No delivery, no waiting area (other than the eating tables), no pasta or things that look like entrees, bicycle parking is a small hassle/not dedicated. I come from NYC, and I wish I had a place like this near me. They serve Downtown quality food with a midtown sticker price. The cheese, the salad the seitan and the smoothies are to die for. Im a guy who doesnt consider salad as food. Its like telling me to eat an ice cube for a meal. But these salads were hearty and could actually qualify as food. Their famous peanut butter shake is not for everyone, I couldnt even drink it. They call them selves a cafe and use that as an excuse to not serve entrees. I understand that you lack the space, but you already have the resources in your kitchen to make me a tofu fillet, a falalfel pita, or a slice of pizza on a thursday. Im vegan, but I would love to bite the finger out of the person who made the menu. The only dish I can complain about is the tofu scramble, which is a little tasteless.

Strong Hearts Cafe has a nice ambiance and a card theme. There are two kings with a knife and a fork in their hand on the window and the number we were given was a red heart card. Im not a vegan but one of the two friends I went with was a vegetarian. We all enjoyed the food and shakes. There is a LARGE milkshake menu. However, they ran out of chocolate and cookies n cream ice cream when I visited, which is why I knocked off a star. A lot of the milkshake options involve those two ice creams. Ive tried the coffee and the banana, which were both delicious. They werent too rich tasting or too sweet like some shakes can be. There was a slight granular (barely noticeable) quality that didnt detract from the experience. I had the winter kale salad, which was pretty tasty. I rarely order salads so I dont have much to compare it to. Taken from the site: "raw kale tossed in agave-mustard dressing, topped with roasted sweet potatoes, roasted beets, toasted walnuts, and sliced granny smith apple."

This is a counter service restaurant ( which was fine, but I didnt know going in). I asked the cashier for recommendations, but she said she was new and didnt know. She wasnt Knowledgeable about the drinks either...I just wanted an unsweet tea. The place was very warm, even compared to the outside. I ended up ordering the Sweet and Sassy Molassy with chips and a side of potato salad. They were out of avocados for the sandwich. I munched on the potato salad while I waited on my order- it was good. I would have liked more dill in it. When the sandwich arrived I was somewhat appalled by the fact that they had clearly emptied the end of the bag of chips onto my plate. It did not make a good impression. The sandwich was actually very tasty. I enjoyed it a great deal. All in all, I would try this place again, but Im not convinced it would become a favorite, but perhaps Im wrong- there are many positive reviews and people are having their logo tatooed on them, so perhaps it was just an off day.

This place is truly amazing! A great vegan only deli with a usually packed house and hipster vibe. The food is delicious! If you are a vegan or vegetarian you will be in food heaven! If you are a true carnivore I challenge you to a meal here, your taste buds will not know the difference. What they lack in meat/dairy/poultry etc. they pack the punch in flavor. Everything I have ever eaten is phenomenal! I am not local to Syracuse, so every time I am in town I try to run in for a sandwich, wrap, salad, shake, and/or dessert! Even my snubbed nose carnivorous husband enjoyed the chocolate cupcake and "Bobby Sands" mint chocolate chip vegan shake I ordered last night! Worth the try, you will be a repeat customer! The cashier was even kind enough to offer 10% off for military! You will not regret this healthy, mouthwatering, and eco friendly (compostable containers/serving ware:) dive! Strong Hearts!

We went to Stronghearts today because I heard about how great their food is. We stepped up to order and felt very unwelcomed by the employee working. He did not say hi or smile or anything. He just stared. The place was not even busy where he might be distracted. My wife and I got a very unwelcoming feeling. I never write reviews. This left a mark on me so bad I felt I had to get it out there. I am not sure if he did not like something about us but it sure seemed that way. After we sat down to eat we noticed he seemed very friendly to another customer who stopped in for coffee to go. I can say we will not be back because we feel like we are not welcome. The employee was a man about 30 with a beard and tatoos that said REUSE & REFUSE on his arm. I honestly hope the owner reads this because it is very bad business. (My milkshake was awesome by the way)

First of all the food is great and the cupcakes are to die for. They serve amazing products. I cant give them a good review because in the last 4 times Ive gone there theyve made my girlfriends milkshake wrong. She loves strong hearts because she cant drink dairy and their milkshakes are all soy based. I order a Peanut Butter Banana milkshake every time, the person repeats it back to me, and then when they bring it out they say it again. The last 4 visits the shake has been "Peanut Butter Blueberry", "Peanut Butter Strawberry", "Chocolate Banana", and today it was "Peanut Butter Chocolate". Im sorry, but how hard is it to get 2 ingredients, the name of the drink no less, right? I feel like they have to be doing it on purpose because they say what the drink is when they call my name and they always say "Peanut Butter Banana".

Disclaimer: I am a omnivore, who can venture into the vegan world occasionally. The food is good, but for me not a replacement for my standard fare. I had the Loaded Tofu Scramble, house coffee, and the Nelson Mandela shake (chocolate). The shake and scramble were very good (for vegan), but again wont pass for the animal protein version. The staff were friendly, and the service was fairly quick. I was there mid morning during the week FWIW. I did have two hairs in my scramble. Not a deal breaker for me as I dont freak out too easily, but might disturb others. I will probably come back in the future as I stay at a nearby hotel when Im in town. I couldnt dine here on a regular basis, but for the occasional foray to the vegan side, this is about as good as it gets for a meat eater.

Strong Hearts in pure magic. Their [soy] milk shakes are better than [real] milk shakes. And even better, the shakes are named after Heroes or "Strong Hearts" throughout history (I think thats really cool, but maybe I am just a nerd.). Aside from the shakes, they have amazing vegan food! I always get the loaded scrambler (only seven bucks!). They have several scramblers, but I get the "loaded scrambler" because you can choose 5 ingredients--including, but not limited to, garlic, peppers, olives, spinach, mushrooms, pine nuts, tomatoes, and DAIYA VEGAN CHEESE! The food at Strong Hearts is so good that even non-vegans enjoy it. One of the best vegan restaurants!
