This is our go to place (Casual & kid friendly) with the family after a hockey game at Sport-O-Rama. Ive even taken customers here for business lunches when in the area. During the day it is quiet and they get you out in a reasonable amount of time. The decor gives you the feeling that youve really crossed the boarder (Before Trump puts up the wall!) The only difference is you can drink the water here! They must have changed the Chef in the kitchen (Or Gordon Ramsey payed a visit...). The food was always good - But as of late they have really stepped up their game. The quality rivals that of the So-Cal. The staff is some of the best Ive seen in years. They are on their A-game the entire meal. You have to love the musicians! The are the "Real Deal" absolutely fantastic. They will adjust the song for the occasion. Love songs for intimate dates and the usual "Happy Birthday" and the traditional La Bamba! Cant go wrong. The sangria is perfect! not the overly sweet nasty kind youd get at the chain restaurants (That leaves you with a headache!). The chicken mole is the best in the east! The tamales are like the ones Grandmother Garcia makes at home. Anything with Shredded beef or pork is always a winner. An as a kicker- you cant beat the complimentary appetizers and desert after your meal. Great food, Great ambiance, Casual-family friendly and the prices are very reasonable. Cant go wrong here! Will be back again and again...

Customer service so bad, it rivals time warner cable. Short version of a long story: I had sand or dirt in my chimichangas and instead of apologizing and offering to replace the dish, i was told by the manager that there was nothing wrong with the meal. That bluntly. He shook his head no and said no, there is nothing wrong with it. We went back and forth about it a few times and he just didnt seem to care. I paid the bill, minus that dish and left in disbelief. You ever eat salad that wasnt washed well and you chomp down on little grains of dirt. feels a little like what i imagine chewing a light bulb might feel like?? It was like that, except in the beef. Dirt. Contaminated food that had grains of some non-food item in it that when crunched between my teeth sounded like a rock crusher in my ear drums. Ive had this dish 50 times before at the middletown, ny location and everytime was to die for. Amazing food and never had an issue. Tonight i happened to be down by the spring valley location and tried them out, and was very disappointed. Bad food, and some of the worst customer service Ive encountered ever. I will never go back to this location. ill stick to middletown.

Terrible experience. I went in feeling un welcomed by the waiters. They quickly sat my family and I down but never came back to check up on us. When I tried to signal for several waiters to come to our table, it became apparent we were being ignored. The dining area isnt that large and there was maybe 4 other tables with 3 to 5 people. So there really isnt any excuse for the service. And to make matters worse, the groups that came in after us were being served quite quickly, so service was pretty normal for everyone else but my family and I. Its really too bad, I heard good things about El Bandido. I guess the only depth the restaurant has is its pretty colors. Too bad I cant give it a zero.

Would never return to this business. Bartender was rude. He purposely ignored my friend when she asked what brand of tequila he put in her margarita. Literally stood there, eye contact and would NOT answer. The couple at the table next to us were completely wasted, yet the staff kept serving that...and were given free drinks by the waiter. It was entirely too loud here. The musicians were unnecessary. Service was horrible. When we asked a man who we thought was our water for water, his reply was, "Youre not getting it from me!" We should have left after the bar incident. We spent the entire dinner looking for our waiter, so we left zero tip. I hope he spent all night looking for it.

Good food, wouldnt call it traditional - has its own twist to it. Large dishes. Distinctive decor. Gets busy at seven pm. Empty by ten pm. Waters get stretched, it takes time to get an order in. Once they take an order in, kitchen responds very quickly and organized. Patrons are exclusively family diners. Peaceful chewing is disturbed only by a tired mariachi with a iPhone for a band, an on pitch soprano yet lacking power and projection. Overall, has room for improvement but local community is probably not ready to support it.

Made a reservation for a family dinner at 6:30. Upon arrival, they explain to us they dont accept reservations and its a 30 minute wait for a table. When we were seated they screwed up our order bringing us an extra order of sides and at the end of the dinner wasnt removed off the bill. I ordered a taco with beans and rice. Taco was bland and the beef was slightly better quality than taco bell products. Over all, very crowded, unorganized, and shitty food.

The food was OK at best. The condiments on the plates were very sparce. One would expect more than a teaspoonful of guacamole and sour cream to come with the meals--if youre going to put it on the plate at all. The alcohol in the drinks were obviously cheap, and definitely not top shelf. The place was cramped, but lively. People seem to enjoy this place. I probably will not be coming back. I came with a group of friends from work--10 of us in total.

Jadore ce restaurant. De vrai plats mexicains par des mexicains. Lambiance et la déco sont vraiment agréables. Les prix sont tout à fait raisonnables avec une petite mise en bouche et un désert offert. Les plats sont copieux.

Rockland county staple for almost 40yrs. Real great authentic mexican experience. Besides never having a bad meal from the soup to the Steaks to the Tacos and everything inbetween. Great free apps and desserts (amazing!!!!!!) Cant miss if you live in Rockland County and Bergen for that matter and if have never been here, SHAME, SHAME, SHAME ON YOU. This is a true gem of the area with the staying power to prove it!!

HORRIBLE!!! I WILL NEVER EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT AGAIN!! I have been going to this restaurant for years but on my last visit the waiter threw away the leftover food that we requested he package for us to take home. When I complained to the manager he said "He doesnt speak English" and offered no compensation for the wasted food. I left no tip but later saw that a tip had been added to my credit card charge.
