Neat place. From our experiance on this trip the quality & originality of the food stands out. Very casual without any pretences. We enjoyed an imported cheese plate with homemade bread and crackers. It was served with candied nuts and sliced fruits as well as a compote. The beer and wine list is very well rounded except there is no draft. The owner says its on his wish list. We had a lentils and wild mushrooms pasta dish and Shrimp and Grits. Great friendly people, the local customers as well as the staff and a good value also. We ahd a great time and felt like we couldnt leave without nstopping to try their breakfast. we were told thats what they built their business on. It was definately a funky downtown experiance with traditional stuff and a lot of interesting plates also. It was extremely busy and took a little while but more than worth it.Any ytrip to the adirondacks will definately include a stop here just to see what new things they are up to.

I was looking for a nice stop for breakfast as I was traveling through town and should have chosen another cafe. I watched two groups of people who came in AFTER me be seated before me and another group of four TURNED AWAY because they cafe did not want to put them at a table for six that remained open the entire time I was there! When a table did open up I was ignored for roughly ten minutes. I inquired at the counter if I was supposed to come up to order and was told my server would be right over. A young girl who had just been folding napkins for silverware came over, did NOT apologize and merely asked want I wanted without even attempting to be pleasant. She brought my water over without offering a word. The only reason I can imagine this place is still open is because tourists are not repeat customers and they tend to travel in groups which are treated preferentially at this establishment.

Breakfast, lunch treats and full dinner there on different days of our vacation up the road at Rainbow Lake. It was our favorite and absolutely wonderful for all our stops there. They did ethnic food amazingly well, truly delicious, and I had ribs done the right way, including the slow cook and their own amazing sauce. The waitress made me one of the best "mocktails" (cocktail without alcohol) Ive ever had, and Ive had lots, and she was so kind and good, fast and sensitive to our timing. When we bought a large molasses cookie (oh my, fantastic), she saw one that was chipped, and insisted we take it too for no charge. All courses were good, we loved the laid back atmosphere in a small setting, and will go back whenever we go to the Adirondacks, even going out of our way to go there. Prices very fair. Jennifer K

Wed heard good things so we stopped in for breakfast on a rainy and cool Saturday morning. The staff initially seemed quite friendly then, it all went bad. After ordering eggs benedict we waited over 20 minutes while watching people who came in after us get served before us. When the breakfast did finally come it was ice cold! We quickly brought it to the waitresss attention and she apologized and took out plate. ONE minute later she brought it back with a few extra warm home fries on it. The eggs benedict was still ice cold. Then the owner acted put out when we told her we simply werent staying. Very disappointing. Well never go back!

We made a quick trip to Saranac Lake, New York just before Christmas and stayed at a local Aribnb. One of their local recommendations for breakfast was the Blue Moon Cafe on Main Street. We gave it a try and loved it. While there were many locals we were welcome and the food was great. I had their home made corned beef hash and eggs with an excellent side of rye toast and my wife had Cinnamon Raisin French toast which was more than she could eat. We came back the next day before leaving for home.

We were visiting my father in law and searched online for best places to eat in Saranac Lake NY. I found this place to be very highly rated so we went for lunch one afternoon. Everything was so fresh and delicious and made to order. The service was friendly and we enjoyed a wonderful meal. So glad we stopped in but I cant wait to stop back next time for breakfast! They were highly rated for their breakfast menu....see you soon!

The previous time I ate here it took 25 mins to deliver my order. Apparently chickens produce eggs that slowly. So this time I was pleasantly surprised when my order only took 15mins. Trouble is, the waitress got my order completely wrong. So, she takes it back and then a couple of minutes later comes back with another plate, equally spectacularly wrong. My error in the first place, should have gone to DJs.

The food here was outstanding. Breakfast ranged from omelets to breakfast sandwiches, pastries and coffee. We arrived and waited outside before the restaurant opened for breakfast. That stated, the reason they did not get five stars is because the tables were not cleaned and the bathroom looked like it needed a bit of cleaning too. You would imagine everything would be spotless at the start of the day.

I like this place very much. I come here once or twice a year when Im in the area. I have never had bad service. The food is always good. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I cafe is a bit small, but they work well with the space they have. The self service coffee bar is nice. It allows you to have options.

We had breakfast here every morning during our stay. Huge portions, great bread, serve-yourself coffee. Never felt like a tourist trap, it felt like a café in our home town. Never felt hurried. The New Yorker I left on the window sill was still there right where I left it the day before. its that kind of place.

Great service, even better food, and quite possibly the worlds best gumbo. The Blue Moon Cafe serves up large portions of delicious steaks, soups, salads, sandwiches and breakfast. Their gumbo is a must have- homemade sausage, bacon, and lots of shrimp and tender scallops. Im definetly coming back for breakfast.

Just ok. Atmosphere is a little chaotic and dingy. Definitely not the cleanest place either. Food was also just ok but a little pricey for what was served. Staff didnt seem super happy and the owner Patricia was a little pushy. But...everything was hot and served quick, and the coffee was good. So yeah, just ok.

The food is very good and you get a lot for your dollar. Also, its not over priced at all. If I ever go back to Saranac Lake or Lake Placid, I will make going here a custom for me. I had an omelet with cheese and vegetables on a bagel and an almond latte and I loved it. (Hey! I was on vacation!)

Great bistro food for breakfast and lunch, and the dinners are surprisingly good. The steak of the day (whatever they can find that is a nice cut, and cheap) has been excellent every time Ive ordered it. Theres parking across the street, so its conveniently located.

Fast friendly service. Excellent food, fair prices. Fun place to watch the locals come and go. They are friendly as well. Many greeted us with"Good morning" and seemed like they really meant it. Our son and his girl friend live here so we will definitely be back often.
