Though the food is good at this Udipi cafe, the service is very bad. An old man who was taking care of billing may be over loaded with work but he just cant throw the bill book at the table of a customer. That too I went in with 2 small kids and the bill book was thrown at the table and it landed with a bang on the table and my younger kid 4 years old just got a shock of it. A VERY BAD MANNERS which I have never experience anywhere. I just hate the way that old man behaved not having enough maturity for his age I guess or may be his is too proud of his hotel ..hence the rude attitude....didnt even had a coutersy to apologies after that.

i am a south indian, was super excited to try this restaurant... but it was most disappointing south indian food u can find around here.. place is dirty.. in the thali - dal, bisibele bath and kurma was watery and no flavor... rasam was also no flavor.. dosa was tasteless... tea was pathetic, just water with some color... yogurt so very sour sour sour....chappathi was crispy , not soft... only thing i liked was sambar.. so i had to just fill my stomach having sambar.. i will not recommend this place for anyone who wants to try south indian veg food..

The restaurant is a very small location with cheap chairs and tables. Yet the food is genuinely Indian and very well made. For the price, the amount of food is too much but thats not a bad thing. What put me off was how our waiter seemed to jot speak English at all and couldnt really attend to us and the manager didnt pay attention to us at all. We were rushed to pick our meal by the manager and he was very ignorant when he took the order. Food is great, service is not.

WORST SERVICE. Reading the mixed reviews, visited this restaurant in June 2011 for Lunch. I should say, worst service ever, food not great. The silver ware on the table not clean, we got 2 glasses of water changed as they were not washed. Ordered for very simple food, Idlys, not great in taste. Will not recommend this pigeon hole for Food or Service.

Old school family restaurant. Has great food and good quality. My white- Italian boyfriend is in love with this place. He has a gluten and dairy allergy and there are a lot of options for him to eat and enjoy!!! I think hes in love with this place and we order or eat there almost every week.

Really excellent vegetarian South Indian food. #35, Paper masala dosa filled with potatoes and onions is Nirvana. Try the Rasam, a delicious, mildly spicy vegetable soup. Very good. So many good things on the menu. Very reasonable prices, friendly service, highly recommended.

Authentic South Indian dosa place. The food is good and has authentic taste. The decor is very old and this place need upgrade in terms of furniture and floor. If you are looking for good South Indian food try this place. It is busy place as it is very small.

Thali was not good ! There was no hand wash in ladies room when asked they checked and said they are out of hand wash !!! We had thali and didnt like any sambar. Curd was too sour! Jamuns were a bit hard ! Chapatis were soft but not baked properly!

I like this restaurant - all items are worth the money. But somehow I feel some of the food items such as Veg Biryani (used to be my favorite here) has changed its recipe and quality. Later learned about the new cook but satisfied overall.

Sravannas Bhavan of the mid-west. Come inside and the South-Indian food will not be disappointed you. Avoid the north Indian cuisine unless you absolutely need it. The buttermilk is excellent. Includes green chilies and ginger.

Rasam was amazing Marcha Bhajiya was delicious Uttapam and Dosa were good. Dosa just took a long time to come out. Staff was not as friendly as I read in other reviews but it could just be an off day. Would def go again

Different from other udipi cafes. There was a wait time to take the order and to bring it. 2 mysore bhajji for 4.99? Sambhar is not the udipi cafe taste. Can visit only once if you are eager to taste the food.

Food is not good. Sambhar is pathetic and chutney is awful. Once they gave frozen chappathis and said thats how its done for all. Friendly owner but unfriendly staffs. Will not go again.

Chhole Bhatura over here is above average. Other items worth trying are Onion rava masala dosa Spring dosa Budget minded can go for Madras Lunch which is a combo of idly and dosa.

Very bad since they did not give us an item that we order and we had to remind them about it. The place is very small and cramped. The food was satisfactory. Do not recommend it.

Good authentic south Indian (Karnataka style) food but little cramped during weekend. Suggest to be there early for dinner otherwise they run out of good stuff.

Food is always good quality and portions are always generous and more than expectation. When in mood to eat dosa or idli, I have no second thoughts.
