We made reservations for dinner on my birthday for 6pm. We arrived about 20 minutes early to sit at the bar and feel the place out and unwind. We had told the hostess to come get us at 6pm. The bartender served us our beverages and after one sip the hostess came to seat us. We ordered our meal. The appetizers were served. My husbands "crab cake" had good flavor, but wasnt hot. My bisque was very hot and flavorful. No sooner we finished our appetizers, and the salads were served. Very small and no choice of dressings. We just put our forks down and the main course was being served. I had a "214" seafood pasta dish. It was flavorful, but the angel hair pasta was way over cooked. It also had a sprig of tarragon sticking out of it. Not good. My husband had steak cooked perfectly with an onion, mushroom demi glace that had no flavor, the mushrooms and onions were not thoroughly cooked and there was a sprig of rosemary sticking out of his mashed potatoes. Really?? Rosemary and meat?? If you cant eat it, dont put it on my plate. If we wanted "fast food", we would have gone to Applebees, or Burger King. We might try dining one more time. Maybe it was an "off" night for the cook. This establishment was "highly" recommended for my birthday meal, and I really dont understand why. The only good thing I can see about this place was the cost of the meal was within our price range. Slow down, let us enjoy each part of the meal. We might like it.

The food is cheap because its heated to order, as in pre cooked before they buy it. Burgers are cooked from frozen. They have run the same "specials" for the last 6 months, no changes or variety. The wait staff is incredibly rude about not having a reservation, and my wife and I have been told to leave once. I wanted to enjoy this place, despite the food sucking, but then I used the restrooms and question the entire sanitation here, especially when you can see someone scratching their ass in the kitchen while cooking. The manager had the nerve to give me a hard time when I sent back not one, but two over cooked burgers when my wife asked for medium rare. If your ignorant and enjoy the bliss, then this place is for you. The only thing Ill credit this restaurant, as a professional cook myself, is their plating and presentation...very well executed.

This was our first visit to the Red Brick Tavern and it happened to be on the evening of Valentines day. We didnt have a reservation and they were still totally accommodating. Our meals were delicious and we were very pleased by their attention to detail. My meal was a beautifully cooked steak with delicious mashed potatoes and the best asparagus Ive had in a restaurant in a very long time. I know focusing on asparagus when its not the main dish isnt important to everyone, but its a favorite of mine and rarely done well. When the side dishes are cared for as well as the main dishes it just improves the whole experience! My compliments to the chef! Everything was done very well and the wait staff was attentive too. There was great live jazz which wasnt overwhelming in the small space.

Ive eaten at the Red Brick 4 times. All the food Ive had there has been fantastic. I always look forward to going back. Problem is, the seemed to be closed often. In addition to the four times Ive been, there have been another 4 instances where Ive driven to Rosendale, only to find the Red Brick closed for vacation or a holiday (what restaurant closes for Columbus Day?). So call ahead. Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Service has been good, but not great.

Friday night. The beer was warm, draft beer with no head means a dirty glass. And it was both. the waitress was nice. The burger was raw when I wanted medium. The hostess was unpleasantly argumentative with me about what medium should be. I maintain that it should not run blood red in the middle. It did. I guess its nice when business is so good that you do not care if your clientele goes away un-happy. I wont return. When it was Rays Village Inn it was better.

We LOVE this place! Its in a quiet little out of the way town and the food is amazing! Although we have never been disappointed by anything on the menu, we recommend the lobster bisque, buffalo shrimp appetizer and prime rib dinner! If you are lucky your waitress will be either Ella or Taylor! Theyre the best! One downside from perfection is that they microwave their dinner rolls. However if you request it, they will grill them! Love this place!

After hearing about Red Brick, we were looking forward to our first meal there. Big disappointment. Bad service. Slow, inattentive and what was off putting was that many of waitresses congregated in a visible room to talk and eat rather than check in to take our order, to check on whether we needed something, etc. The food had too much sauce and didnt seem fresh. The sauces were sticky/sweet. I am disappointed and regret that Red Brick isnt better.

This place is possibly the hest restraunt in new york. Seriously, i have ate there dozens of times and never once was dissatisfied. Food size is humunigous you get about 2-4 meals out of it. The best part is the food tastes amazing! I dont know how they afford to serve such high quality food at these prices. For example: there 214 meal is pasta six crab claws, 4/6 big shrimp, scallops, muscles, and is huge. A 11 out of ten.

Over the years we have had very good food here and the portion sizes are incredible. There are many dishes we absolutely love - bbq shrimp, nachos, wings, burgers, 214 pasta dish with fresh seafood, lobster ravioli and the spicy brick. One dish that I didnt care for was the chicken marsala. The staff are great! I dont think we have ever had a bad waitress/waiter. Overall, we would recommend the Red Brick.

known for prime rib specials on weekends. dinners are excellent and most are priced at $20 or less. the rest of the menu is excellent american cuisine. housed in an old brick lumber yard building the interior is interesting but not luxurious. service is good considering how busy it is. reservations are a must. the prime rib is first come first serve. desserts are excellent. enjoy.

Best nachos in ulster county! HUGE portion and hands down, the best nachos ive ever had. a meal for 2 people or an appetizer for 4. red brick tavern raised the bar on my former favorite " nasty nachos" from another local restaurant and i think they will hold the crown for some time. the burgers and quesadillas are pretty damn good too. one of our favorite spots.

We came here a couple of years ago and I wasnt impressed with the presentation but they did really good today. The burger was a men size plate so my husband finished his and I had half of it left. A friend had the nacho and really liked them plus had half of it left. The lobster salad a friend ordered looked amazing and the price was great.
