Jacob Riis is really crowded. Traffic is backed up for a least a mile just to enter the parking lot and backed up from the parking lot all the way to the entrance to the belt when you leave. The Brooklyn Night Bazaar brought some good food and music to the beach but the lines are long, and the food is expensive and selection is limited. The sound quality of the music is terrible at the beach because of the wind. You can only hear it when youre on the boardwalk. When youre on the beach, you only hear annoying thumping noise. There are some vendors selling things but I dont shop when Im at the beach. The beach itself is dirty and run down. You can get better food and hear better music all over Brooklyn. Go to a nicer beach and save the food and music for later.

Its like downtown hipster Brooklyn went on a field trip. Youll find many familiar eateries, from ice cream to bbq, and clothing vendors peddling cute "vintage chic" designs. Normally this place would annoy the hell out of me but its nice having this by the beach for when youre craving a taste of civilization. Also I gather this is a good place to check out for young locals who do not or can not make it out to the hipster mecca proper. Parking across the street is vast and cost $10/car. If youre coming from South Brooklyn the toll bridge is $4 each way. This is also the nicest beach in NYC proper so its worth the trip.

Jacob Riis Beach is probably the best beach accessible by train in NYC. Coney Island and Brighton Beach are okay but Jacob Riis is much larger and cleaner. Now Jacob Riis Beach has even more pros since they opened a food and goods bazaar. The vendors are pretty good, My favorite vendors are Wild Feast which sells fresh seafood and Ample Hills Creamery which sells ice cream. Theres also Brooklyn Star which sells fried chicken in waffle cones. You can also get fresh coconuts. The food options are definitely a lot better than other beaches in NYC. They also have live music on Saturdays and Sundays.

Great beach. Not too crowded. Food is ok but extremely over priced. Th other side of Riis beach is far more pleasant and has less ppl. The Q44 bus to get here is quick and easy. I would not spend another dime there but its not a bad area and has lots of seating. Not many food options and in the heat the walking to get from cart to cart is kind of far and the lines can get long.

Let me start by saying riis beach is the best beach in nyc clean not too crowded. Now lets talk about to Bazar. I usually go to the pitch and put here afterwords I stop by and grab a bite. The only real downside is the food being a little pricey because there is no other competition once you get on the island. The food is tasty and the service is great.

Too crowded for a beach. Easy to park (if you can call parking that can be 15 minutes from the beach parking lot),but cost money. I wouldnt come to the beach on a weekend, since it is everything but relaxed beach, and missing the point (For my opinion).

Totally overrated.. Food wasnt bad but also wasnt great. Expensive for the amount of food , my friends taco was small and he said it was dry. Also a pathetic attempt to make RIIS a hip place.

Came here during the offseason (November). There arent any food trucks but theres an inside restaurant/store that serves brunch, pizzas, beer, wine, and liquor, right on the beach.

The beach itself is clean but the food is just so awful! The chicken wings for example the chicken wings came dry and tasted awful because thwy werent cooked on the same day.
