This place seems like the product of someone from North Jersey reading about fish tacos in a magazine. The ingredients are all there, but the preparation and proportioning leave much to be desired. Baja tacos are small because they need to be; the fish stays tender because it is cut small enough to cook quickly. Surf Taco must have missed this on the Mahi taco, because the brick of dry fish on my tortilla could have made 3 good tacos by itself. As per standard diner procedure, they combatted the overly dry fish by dumping a small salad of cabbage and salsa on top. The result is one giant, gross mess that was barely edible. The surf taco was no improvement; a block of fried fish that had more in common with a fish & chips basket than a fish taco, drowned in condiments. Instead of several good tacos, I got one bad one. Even the chips were bland and greasy. My wifes beef taco was barely seasoned, dry and disappointing. Id come again for sustenance, but if there any other options Id explore them instead.

Me and my family have gone to various Surf Tacos (mainly PP and Manasquan) literally hundreds, maybe thousands of times. You cannot beat the quality of food for the price, plus its a great place to go with little kids b/c its fast. What makes this place stand apart is the food is FRESH. No bagged chips and salsa. All the veggies/lettuce/pico are super fresh, and the salsa bar is GREAT - I love the Baja and Hot salsas in particular. All made fresh. I dont even like guacamole, but LOVE it here. The best Ive ever had. The quality of the meat is good to. Where else can you bring your family of 4 for a good meal that doesnt leave you hungry for $29 total?

Always good tacos. However the chill "surfer vibes" dont translate through to the employees. My friend asked for guacamole and it didnt come out with her meal. Woulda gave this place a higher rating but if an employee forgets to ring up the guacamole and then they ask you to get up and come back to the register and pay for the guacamole that they forgot to ring up then they should just give it to her for free. How rude.

Ive been going to this Surf Taco for almost 10 years and am completely horrified at the low quality of food and service now. We ordered 2 burritos at 2 in the afternoon on a thursday and they came out within 30 seconds. They were both almost completely empty and the meat and rice/beans were cold. Never going back here again, its obviously taken a turn for the worse.

The food is amazing!!!! The only thing is... the 3 times that weve ordered food to go they havent given us all the food weve paid for. Like an entire meal missing! Not once but 3 times!!!! So annoying! Especially when you dont realize till youve already left. Come on guys, get it together!!!!

A good place with reasonable prices. Place is clean (including the facilities) and the staff are friendly. The food was good, but not amazing. Had 4 different tacos: cod, shrimp, steak, and beef. Cod and steak were good. The other two were just ok. A little too much cheese on all of them.

This is one of the original locations. The first one I ever visited. It might even have been the first one. Always enjoyable. The food is always fresh. The employees are nice and helpful. And of course you cant beat the location in Point Pleasant Beach

Surf taco is the best taco spot down to shore. This location specially has great service and a specials menu that is constantly changing. Everything on the menu is incredible and I highly recommend the Baja sauce.

Great place. Has a real chill vibe. Food was great. Place was packed. Always a good sign. Burrito was great. Packed huge and messy. Definitely a place to check out for a reasonable dinner or lunch.

The tacos and burritos are amazing, basically a better cheaper Chipotle! The deserts are also great, drep fried bananas and ice cream is to die for! Definitely worth a stop if youre in the area.
