Buta Pub is so frustrating because if I could give it 5+ stars for the food, I would. Lets start with the good which is the food. The bottom line is these people in the kitchen know what they are doing. Very unique menu you wont find anywhere else. EVERYTHING is house made. The Buta Pub Ramen I literally dream about. The Gyochang (sp?) wings are some of the best wings I have ever had. On one occasion, my wife had a fish special that was to die for and on another occasion, my kids had some of the donuts which were insane. The food is just really really good. Ok, now the bad/frustrating. This place is just weird. Not unique but weird. Although I have had some very polite servers, they are all super slow. If you need a drink refill you are better off getting it yourself. On one visit, they sat my wife and I at a wobbly table. They handed me some boxes of matches so that I, as in me, could go under the table myself and stick them under one of the legs to even it out. After that didnt work, they moved us to a booth. Guess who carried their drinks etc to the new table? We sat and had the wings as an appetizer. I had to literally wait 10 minutes to get napkins. Made it hard to enjoy these amazing wings with sauce all over my face and hands. A band was getting ready to go on. The sound board was right behind my wife. Every couple of minutes, some bozo with the band would literally climb over my wife to make whatever adjustments needed to be made. He would literally say "Excuse Me" at our table and lean and reach right over her. Totally odd!! As my patience ended, he did stop. One time we went for some bloody marys on a Sunday. Nice bartender, good drinks. The manager walked up and told the bartender that the bartender had to go to the store. So now there is NO bartender. Some busboy came behind the bar and asked anyone if they needed anything. A couple next to us did order from him only to be asked "Whats in that?" Totally strange. Geoff Tate, lead singer of Queensryche, was playing there last year at the German House upstairs. My wife and I wanted to go so a few days before the show, I went to The Buta Pub to get the tickets. I asked the bartender for 2 seats and they had absolutely no idea what I was talking about. She, FINALLY, asked around for about 15 minutes and by the grace of God, an employee did know where they kept the tickets etc. So it took me, literally, 20 minutes to buy 2 tickets to a show they were hosting. Parking is a nightmare. I wont hold that against them. There is only so much they can do on that front. This place could be so amazing I just wish they would kick their staff in their butts and make the customer experience better. Such a shame because the food is exceptional.

Visited for the first time this past weekend and the service was...not great. We ordered cocktails to start, then when the server came back 10 minutes later we put in an order for an appetizer. The app arrived 5 minutes later and the cocktails arrived 15+ minutes later. The main courses then arrived immediately after the cocktails while we were still in the middle of eating the appetizer, so they had to be set aside on the table while we finished our appetizer?? This also resulted in us eating our main course with the dishes from the first course still on the table and not cleared away. Not a good experience. The food was just okay...thai squid was delicious, wouldnt recommend the green curry.

Food itself is very good. Would definitely recommend the Korean BBQ chicken dish, with kimchi and mac & cheese. We booked a table during a busy weekend time slot & service seemed stretched. My meal came out in 2 parts, more than 10 minutes apart which obviously wasnt ideal. Atmosphere & layout is a little disjointed; almost like the place cant decide if its a bar or a restaurant. Its probably best to go for food in midweek & drinks at the weekend to get the best out of this place. All that said, its a good addition to the south wedge area and you could definitely do worse for "pub food".

Could not have been more disappointed in the food I ordered - it was somehow simultaneously over cooked and under cooked. Pork buns were greasy with an excess of fat poorly rendered. Banh mi was soggy and buried in dill and cilantro. Chips were inedible - either over fried to the point of disintegration or completely underfried and saturated in oil. Super confused as to why people are so excited over the food here. Asian inspired menu? Might I suggest actually trying Asian food first. I will not be coming back and instead will stay a customer to actually authentic Asian restaurants.

This place is definitely a hidden Gem. The locale it self is stunning, has a great vibe and the art and visuals are impressive. The food is limited but very flavorful and they have something for everyone, and if you like spicy food, they can deliver (This is coming from someone that doesnt do spicy food though). The service was a bit slow and what got to me is that there were only 2 tables including mine on the restaurant. Overall, I would recommend this place if you like to experience new places.

On a Wednesday My friend and I went here and ordered 18 wings together and were not offered drinks. After 10 minutes we figured it was just so slow that it was taking a while or it was the switch from B to A shift - ten minutes later we still did not get asked if we wanted drinks or even any confirmation that our order of wings were set. Id give this one star but their dinner is usually great I was just kind of surprised at how poor the service could be - even for 2 PM on a Wednesday

I had the Ramen bowl delivered via grub hub and I couldnt be more disappointed. For $13 plus delivery fee I was expecting something halfway decent. The noodles were chewy and the broth was too spicy. Also I requested no green onions which they failed to omit from my order. Definitely not worth the money, especially since it doesnt even have a protein. The actual food itself probably costs less than a dollar to make. Total waste of money.

My girlfriend suggested it, and it was great, lots of Asian inspired foods, decent pick of beers, and the Bahn Mi with breaded fish was sweet, with tangy pickled vegetables, the duck fried rice a friend had was apparently decadently perfect and the duck was not over cooked - a real accomplishment. My girlfriend had some kind of curried rice dish she wouldnt stop ooh-ing and ah-ing over, so thats a win, too.

Went for a special waffle brunch, advert stated multiple waffles would be available. 30 minutes after event started no more waffles. Service was terrible, took over 30 mins sitting at the table before they took our order just to find out they were out, took another hour to get food as we were ignored by the server. Got a sorry not sorry. They wont be getting my business again. Bye
