I recently relocated to the area and was told by a good friend that nothing local compared to the sushi place I left back home, Based on the reviews here, I drove 30 miles to find this gem. The fish was fresh and the people there were super friendly. I was given free edamame with my takeout order and offered tea while I waited. I have eaten at upwards of 20 sushi places from Long Island to Manhattan and Akara can run with the best of them. The travel time is worth it for sushi that is THIS good. I havent tried anywhere else closer to home, but my girlfriend has, and she assures me that this place really IS the best Sushi within a 30 mile radius of Hopewell Junction. I wont bother trying anywhere else in Hudson Valley. Theyve made a lifelong customer based on my one takeout meal.

Akari Sushi is a nice sushi place, a close walk to the Hudson river. They have a great staff, although their English is a bit limited. Sushi tastes fresh, a variety of menu items to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. Their basic rolls are tasty and very budget friendly, along with most appetizer. Fancier rolls range from $11-$15, tried several on different occasions and all were good. The crazy roll is my favorite, but others are quite good too. Visit there at least monthly, great place for the area.

Great food, great service, and great price for sushi of this quality. I am a college student so money is tight but i still try to get down there once a month. the location is great. right next to the train station. for lunch i recommend the roll lunch you get 3 rolls for $11 and a soup or salad. I recommend getting the soup. they also have yummy tea which is free and hot.

DONT ORDER TO BE DELIVERED FROM THIS PLACE--They are the WORST. FOOD IS ALWAYS COLD WHEN DELIVERED, OR IF LUCKY- SLIGHTLY WARM and they make us come outside our building to get the food, THE DRIVER IS TOO LAZY TO WALK UPSTAIRS TO DELIVER!! WORST SERVICE EVER.

Very busy for a Monday night which took a while to get the food, but 3 servers were very attentive. Enjoyed a miso soup, crazy roll (5 star!), and a spicy salmon roll. Absolutely fresh and delicious!

I had to wait FOREVER for my order and decided to just have it for to go. Unfortunately, they "forgot" to put my order in. Talk about leaving a restaurant in an empty stomach.

The best sushi in Dutchess county!!!! They have a big selection and I have never had something that I didnt like. Recommend this restaurant to everyone. Dont miss out!!!!!
