I almost never would write a review but after having two horrible experiences here I would like to tell everyone just dont go!!!! The first time my friend and I were there she had been served her soup and main meal when I asked the waitress for my food she said it would be right out and she did come right out with an frozen crab cake sandwitch which was revolting . I gave it back and said never mind I just wanted to chalk it up to them being busy and inattentive not my kind of restaurant . No intention of ever going back but the manager insisted on giving my friend a gift certificate in my name . So we decided to give it another try . We went a 3:30 PM .on this Saturday . After waiting 45 minutes we were given a tiny booth . We ordered burgers and soup as an appetizer figuring no one could mess that up . Again we waited 15 min no soup . We were about to question the server which could not be flagged down when our burgers came out . I ordered medium my friend well done . When I ordered I specifically asked the waitress to please not make mine well done . Well two"grass feed" charcoal briquets on stale burned brioche buns came out . Disgusted my friend asked for a new bun ,that server was a sweetie and changed hers . Once again the same manager came over we basicly told him no thank you for another gift certificate we were not coming back . He told us both horrrrible meals would be paid for . Then he came back and ordered me to make sure I left my 15 dollar gift certificate from my last horrible meal.I ordered coffee and dessert hoping somthing might be edible and it was actually good coffee . As soon as my fork hit the table the waitress rushed over with my bill for the coffee and dessert . We tipped the nice guy who fixed my friends roll for her and left . What horrible place . Try brios if you want a nice atmosphere and decent food in phonecia. This place is a hell hole

We had been to Phoenicia Diner before- food- fabulous, service, terrific & couldnt wait to go back (I even bought a t-shirt). We went back last Sat. for brunch and I will never return. I had my service dog with me (prior to coming in, he alerted me that my blood was crashing- so it was important for me to eat.) We walked into the restaurant and the manager says you cant come in here. "This is my service dog.", I say (w/ a vest on him that says as such.) "You need documentation, he says" (voice rising). "Theres actually no such thing as documentation." I said. "I just need to tell you hes a service dog, for medical reasons." Yelling: "I need documentation- I can do whatever I want, I dont care what you say the law is. Thats my choice not to serve you." Everyone turns around & is staring. Everyone. "Actually, the law says otherwise. May I use your phone to call the police?." I said quietly but firmly. (I didnt have a phone on me.) I was shaking and my blood sugar was crashing. I dont expect everyone to know the law (link below) but to be degraded and humiliated for having a medical condition/disability was a pretty awful experience. I mentioned we had been there before (before I got my service dog.) I have flown with him, ride the subway, go to restaurants- never a problem before this. I wont return here because I wouldnt feel safe. This not only violated the law, but this was pretty outrageous and disrespectful from a customer service/human decency perspective. It was jarring. And disappointing. *American Disabilities Act (ADA) does NOT require certification or registration of service animals. *See Inquiries...: ada.gov/service_animals_…

I stopped at what I would call the " West Wing" of the Phoenicia Diner. It is an AirStream trailer circa 1959 alongside the actual diner. What a precious treasure. The whole operation from start 2 finish entails an intelligence , ability and professionalism and in a world of Roadside hit or miss dining is a breath of fresh air. The service was excellent, Mona and Oscar were there the day we stopped by. Friendly, caring, competent, is what you need after facing a 4 hour weekend crush on the NYS thruway. The selection on the menu is intriguing, something for every one I am sure. This is the peak of the local growing season, believe me farm 2 table hits its stride, so you have a double dip of good and lucky. I will wish everyone involved here the very best of luck and success. In the middle of no where it is just so sweet to have a place as good 2 go as the trailer alongside the wonderful Phoenicia Diner. Dont be square be sure to stop there. Thanks from TallSteve.

Let me first start by saying that the food here is REALLY GOOD for a place branding itself as a diner! When I step into a diner, I dont expect much except for the staples prepared decently. Phoenicia Diner takes it to the next level with a simple menu that has all of those staples and isnt confusing like other diner menus! The place is well designed and the staff were really friendly. This is a great place to stop after a long day of skiing! Now for the side note: I got my car stuck in some snow outside the diner after turning in a little too fast on a very snowy day. The manager of the restaurant along with a patron or two immediately came out to assist me! I couldnt believe the generosity and kindness I witnessed here. That being said, I was glad to then have a delicious meal so I could happily write this 5-star review. I highly recommend the place!

This was cool find. Actually it found me (a friend recommended it on Instagram) after Id already eaten at another less appealing diner in Rhinebeck. I heard the pie was worth the drive and stuffing myself for, so we went and were not disappointed. SO GOOD! We got the second to last piece of Rhubarb Crumble Pie and glad I asked for it when I first sat down because people were fighting over the last piece. I had to cut our piece in half to keep BF from hoovering it and the wonderful Ronnybrook Farm ice cream. Had a very good turkey club. Excellent fries! Thats all we could stuff in, but wed definitely go back. The place has a great vibe and supports local food makers and farms. Owner and staff were really nice! Make sure they have pie. If its winter have a hot chocolate with the Fruition hot chocolate thats made from bean locally!!!!

I came here for lunch on a Sunday. The place is small so it gets crowded. We waited for about 20 minutes for a table but we did get a booth by the window. We ordered the duck with grits, salmon salad, the biscuits and gravy, and the beer battered onion rings. All the dishes were tasty and fresh. The duck confit with cheese grits and the onion rings were my favorites. There was a lot of duck and it came with a poached duck which made it extra decadent. The onion rings were huge and well seasoned. I saw other people ordered the fried chicken and waffle sandwich which looked good as well. I would come back if Im ever in the area.
