New Korean Restaurant in K-town? Isnt KBBQ restaurants saturated in K-town? Apparently not! Upon entry youll be surprised to see the restaurant layout. Jongro sets a new standard in terms of interior design with open traditional wooden frames build with fluted columns, rustic tables and chairs, and a sign that quotes "Raw Meat is Delicious!" in Korean. The 14 of us came here for a dinner and noticed an entourage of guests mostly the younger generation waiting for a table. Glad our party made reservations in advance which was available right on time. Kudos! I highly suggest you make reservations especially for Friday nights and weekends. We ordered unmarinated meat and pork combos for the 4 of us in our section. The meat was absolutely satisfying, but I have to say it was no different from Seoul Garden and Wonjo. Perhaps the meat comes from the same distributor? Or supplied from Seoul Garden? Who knows. Who cares. It was delicious! I was quite surprised to see a slab of rib-eye steak to be included in the meat combo. Bonus! Along with the meat came soy bean soup (Dwen Jang Jigae), raw onions in soy sauce, fresh romaine lettuce, shredded green onions, semi-spicy kimchi, diced jalapenos, meat sauce (ssam jjang), and NO RICE. What? Yes you have to order it for an additional charge. Isnt it customary at a Korean restaurant for rice to be provided? I was expecting steamed egg as a service given our party size, but no dice. Guess my expectations were higher than expected. Overall the night was memorable. To note subtly playing in the background was 90s Kpop! It was quite a nostalgic experience listening to childhood favorites- G.O.D, Sechskies, and other Korean classics while enjoying the company of others. Aside from the lousy rice charge (which itself if not all that expensive, but the idea of paying for rice at a Korean restaurant is displeasing), I left the restaurant satisfied and felt like a BBQ exhaust pipe, BBQ vapors seeping out of my jacket, pants, and hair. Make sure to change or prepare outerwear in advance if possible because your clothes will stink for days. Also make sure to listen to your woman!

My husband wanted to come after reading the reviews. The experience is very different from the reviews. It was pricey and when asked about portion, the lady said that it would feed two. So we got the pork platter $54.99 and usd beef platter. When the meat arrived, it was not enough to feed one of my kids. The only side dish was kimchi, green lettuce, vinigared white onions and soya bean with green onions on top with a spicy sauce. For $79.99 for the beef, it was about 7 oz total and the meat was NOT the meat listed. It was expensive and BLAND. We also ordered some bowls of rice as fillers, I ended up eating tinned of kimchi and green lettuce to fill up and after all said and done, we were still hungry, and that is giving most of the food to my two kids, who are younger than 13 yrs old. If you want an expensive SNACK, go there, but I dont know how people are raving about this place. This meal set is back about $165, which is over $200 Canadian after the exchange. Going to McDonalds would have given me more flavors and fill me up while being light on my wallet. Not a place I will ever visit again and I hope those that read this review will take what I say honestly as it hurts to see your hard earned money going down the drain. If you read this and still go, dont say I didnt warn you.

We had Korean cook yourself BBQ dinner here last night with my family. We ordered the big set beef dinner. They gave us about 3 kinds of beef cuts - thin sliced, 2 kinds of other steaks cut into bite size pieces. With the dinner comes sauces and salt to dip in. It also came with a bowl or more if you want, of slivered scallions and bean sprouts with red paste Korean sauce. We also had a side of their seafood pancake and an order of the Pork BBQ to cook. It was very good and unlike the other places, they did not give us too many of the sweet pickles. But we did have the pickled bite size onions which I liked. The place is on the 2nd floor of a building that looks like there wouldnt be a restaurant on the 2nd floor but there is. Its a big restaurant with separate sections under a roof. If you eat past 6:30, expect a line. It gets full and crowded. Delicious!!

일단 썩은표정으로 고기 구워주는거부터 맘에 안들고 손님 테이블에 손얹고 짝다리 짚고 고기 구워주는게 기분 드러움. 그래서 팁 조금 줬더니 쫓아와서 따지는 매니져는 직원교육부터 잘 하시고 따지셔도 될거같구요. 갈비를 프라임이라고 시켰는데 비계가 덩어리채 있고 40불짜리 하는 일인분이 거짓말 안하고 고기 한 10점정도 ㅡ.ㅡ 그냥 왜 평점이 이렇게 좋은지 모르겠다. 별 0개 주고 싶다;; 사진에 찍힌게 일인분;;

The most notable thing about this restaurant is the way they transformed the space; the restaurant seems to emulate outdoor/street BBQ restaurants in Korea with a 90s feel. Love the quirky nuances in the decor, though the exposed brick could look a little better. The service is also typical for this tier of Korean BBQ; the servers are quick to serve the condiments and help in BBQ process to cook and serve the meat to perfection. Condiments were basic and yummy. Overall loved the experience. Usually a wait so come at off hours and days to avoid the lines in the limited waiting area. Otherwise, fairly large seating area for a Koreatown restaurant.

I had one of the best Korean BBQ experiences I ever had in North America, one that is comparable to some of the best Korean BBQ places Ive been to in Korea. This isnt your everyday go to restaurant, the price is not friendly but the quality of the food and the full service staffs more than make up for it. The experienced staffs actually cook the meat for you so you can taste the best flavour, juiciest meat. My recommendation is to order the table cooking BBQ with your meat preference (choose the best quality beef and you wont regret it) and the bean paste soup (doenjang-jjigae) with a bowl of rice. Heavens.

Long wait on a Saturday night, but their waiting system is definitely 21st century (ipads that log how long you have been waiting, and can call you when the table is ready) and makes the whole process easier. It is loud in the restaurant with kpop always playing and a pretty large and open space for customers. The KBBQ prices were a little too high for my taste, but I guess its something I have yet to get used to in NYC. We got the large pork platter, and the meats and banchan were all good. Service was quick and attentive, and overall I had no complaints about the restaurant.

This is my favorite Korean BBQ place in NYC. The meat isnt as expensive as other places in Koreatown probably because its in an office building and not many people know about the place. I like the wooden booths which are pretty spacious and you can bring big groups here. The meat is pretty good quality. I usually get the LA galbi and the pork belly. It comes with veggies, lettuce to wrap the meat, and sauces. The service is pretty good too, grilling the meat properly and attentive with any needs you have. If youre ever in Koreatown, you should check this place out.
