I used to like it. The quality of food and experience used to be good but each time Ive gone, about 6 times, it has consistently gotten worse. This time we brought some family and were embarrassed. The waitress sat us down served us waters and after about 5 minutes of getting comfortable, she came and asked us to move to another table which was exactly the same size. She then sat another family in our seats. That is unheard of! After ordering, they brought all of our food out at once so the soups we ordered, the free kimchee, side orders, and the BBQ were all at the table at once. The food was lacking in quality and they reduced the portions. They used to bring out complimentary fried fish but they told me it wasnt available. They brought out 1 bowl of egg for 4 people which I have always gotten 1 for 2 people. Part of the fun is having the BBQ at the table, if you have been there you know what I mean. The waitress tried to convince us to let them cook it in the back kitchen because she didnt want to cook it for us. We spent $135 on 4 soups and 2 BBQs. The BBQs were much smaller portion than usual and could have served one person. After cooking the first small portion of meat, I asked her if she could hold off on cooking the second one until we ate a little more of the soup. When she came back she got impatient and told me they wanted to take the charcoal to another table. The waitress kept cutting in front of me as I was eating and leaned across my dish, putting her shoulder in front of my face for minutes at a time as she grilled the meat and remove items from the table. We were rushed as the waitress kept taking food from us before we finished. The lady took our lettuce from our table as we were still eating, added some more on top, and then served it to another table. After the horrible experience I gave her a small tip. When she saw the amount she confronted me and made a scene. I explained that I have been there before and this was the worst experience Ive had. I told her she rushed us and the food wasnt as much or as good. She began raising her voice telling me she gave us excellent service. I got very angry and told her she didnt even deserve a tip! I will not be going back again.

With super high quality meats and sides accompanied by impecable service and attention, you cant go wrong with a visit to So Moon. Everything is delicious, the BBQ is grilled to perfection over HOT HOT coals, and your glass of iced barley tea is always full, even late at night! I stopped into this place on recommendation from the Bakery next door after searching around for a substitute for the place that I had been to before but was closed. It looks pretty fancy and the prices seemed a bit high at first, but the quality and quantity and experience are more than worth it. One BBQ order portion is enough for one if you are extremely hungry, so I would say 3 plates serves 4 people comfortably, or grab a BBQ platter and some noodles or dumplings for 2 people (which is what I am doing next time, hopefully soon) or just eat everything, cuz it is sooo good!!!

Terrible attitude of waitresses. This morning I ordered mi-yuk-guk (미역국). After couple of spoons, I found bug inside it! Small cockroach just floating in my bowl! I told waitress to let her know but she snatched it and crumpled with napkin saying it not a bug. Clearly Im not blind I can tell if it had legs or not and it did! I told her to bring it back and showed that part of the bug but she just says I dont think so.. and walked away taking back mi-yuk-guk. What Im really angry is the fact that she didnt even apologize. Also when asked for check of my husbands meal they charged me for mi-yuk-guk, something I couldnt eat! I am amazed how health department does not know about this. I really DO NOT recommend here, terrible! And disgusted by todays incident!

This is my absolute favorite restaurant. I come here at least twice a month, and I am never disappointed. The food is absolutely amazing, the barbecue is so good, the service is always 10/10, and its a bit expensive but worth every penny. I have come here for date nights, parties, and any other chance I get, its perfect for groups or just a solo mission. Whenever I come, I get the spicy pork stir-fry, (my personal favorite) and I highly recommend the marinated sirloin (Ju-Mul-Reok) if you do BBQ. Even the side dishes are delicious and work perfectly with the rest of the food. Do yourself a favor and come here as soon as possible.

요며칠전에 제육볶음을 오더했는데 정말!! 고기도 안익었고 고추가루만 잔뜩 부은 간도 안되었고 거기다가 가격은 $26 남미사람들이 만들었나봐요 요즘 한국 음식 남미사람들이 만든다 하더니 아마도 여기도 그런것 같네요 결국은 몇점 먹고 쓰레기통으로 갔네요 다시는 가고싶지않네요

This is my favorite Korean Restaurant for the past 15+ years. The food is consistently great. They provide several side dishes (Banchan) to go with your meal. They offer large servings as well making it impossible to leave hungry. They have several BBQ tables and some without if you dont feel like cooking. Non-Koreans will not have an issue ordering or understanding the staff or the new menus. I hope to continue frequenting this restaurant for another 15+ years... I strongly recommend you become a regular as well.

This Korean BBQ is legit. So Moon Nan Jip offers an excellent variety and the portions are generous. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious BBQ. The service was tremendously helpful and always offered us seconds on our sides (which comes with the BBQ). The meat was tender and fresh and the atmosphere was laid back. Families and couples are welcome. Didnt get a chance to try sushi, but may on our next trip. Average price for BBQ is about $23-28 but well worth it.

If youre like me, you are currently reading the reviews to see if this establishment serves alcoholic beverages. I am here to tell you, YES THEY SERVE ALCOHOL. They have BEER, SAKE (hot and cold), and of course our favorite, SOJU. Service was good, the meal was good as well. But lets face it, it was midnight, after a fun night in New York, I just wanted to sit down, eat Korean and drink some damn Soju! This restaurant easily satisfied those wants.

This is decent Korean BBQ. They were able to see this right away, but the problem and reason why Im giving it to stars is because they sat us in the back room with no ventilation. When you do Korean BBQ and you dont have good ventilation the air gets pretty thick. Experience sitting in the back of the restaurant was not very good, and I felt like the wait staff was not as attentive as they are to the front part of the restaurant.

I went to this place to celebrate two birthdays and had a bad experience . We ordered the food and we noticed tht most of it was missing because they were out of it. One of the ladies that served us looked upset the whole time. At the end of the night, on our way out the door they demanded more tip. Very unpleasant birthday celebration . I will never go back to this place .
