Ive heard the hype for years, "best burgers in Long Island". Figured Id try it, theres always a huge line so I thought the burgers would be great. Ordered a double quarter pounder, a quarter pounder, and a regular cheeseburger. Large fries, small onion rings, chocolate shake, a vanilla shake and a fountain drink. Dont believe the hype people!!! Think of it like this....White Castle + Burger King = all American burger. The burger was greasy, which a burger is supposed to be, but just no taste. Literally eating a piece of cooked chop meat with no seasoning, and then you get a mouth full of chopped onions. The dainty little pickle they place on it, doesnt support the flavor of the burger. Each bite is a different flavor each time. Greasy burger, greasy onions, melted cheese....oh some pickle! The Burger King whopper style sesame seed bun doesnt work for Burger King, doesnt work for all American either. French fries werent that bad, the onion rings....ewww! Tasted like they were again, Burger King onion rings bought the day before then microwaved. Soggy and just not that very good. The milk shakes, vanilla honestly had no taste what so ever. Like sucking elmers glue through a straw. The chocolate milk shake....OH EM GEE!! That was delicious! That was rich and creamy and full of flavor. Its a cool little throw back style burger joint, the staff were very friendly and polite, suggested what was good and all. The food just didnt cut it. I guess you could try it once and see for yourself. But there are definitely better burger places out there. I really hate giving bad reviews to a place where the staff was amazing and the prices were really good, but lets face it, youre there for the food.

DO NOT DRIVE THE DISTANCE TO COME HERE. IT IS NOT WORTH THE HYPE OR THE WAIT. Recently I started hearing about the hype of this place from some friends. Looking up the place and seeing a 4.6 I couldnt help but get excited to try a burger (I love a good home cooked burger). I drove an hour with some friends to be greated to an overcrowded parking lot and a line stretching outside of the establishment. We sat their thinking, "Wow this place must be phenomenal!" We finally got to placing our order after 12 minutes or so, recieving our food around 8-10 minutes after. We wanted to try a bit of everything so we all got the 1/4 pound burger with cheese for $2.75, some hot dogs for $1.85, a large fries for $1.75 and the butterfly shrimp $5.25. If only I could have a picture of my face the moment I sunk my teeth in. Simply put it was bland. The burger was thin with no seasoning unless you count basic salt and pepper as seasoning. The bun was a normal bun, the sauce was normal ketchup and I got one tiny pickle so far hanging off the burger. I wanted to like it so badly but I couldnt. My friends and I just ended up looking at each other wondering why this place is so highly reviewed. The parking was terrible, the wait was stressful and the food dissapointing. All American Burger needs to step up their game when a home made burger is 10x better. Worst of all even a fast food burger from Wendys for a $1 puts this to shame. Also the Shrimp and Hot dog are nothing to write home about. The fries were the only thing that was pretty decent for the price. Overall Experience = Subpar

I dont see what the big deal is about this place. I am going to be brutally honest, I understand this place is like a Mecca for my fellow Long Islanders when they have a fast food craving but I was not impressed. I am a fast food lover and I have been to virtually every hamburger fast food place on Long Island ... I know this is going to get me alot of enemies but here we go: you would be better off going to Checkers/Rallys, or even Wendys. All American is barely a step above McDonalds, and depending on the workers and the time of day you could very well get a better hamburger at your local McDonalds. Yes its cheap (even cheaper then McDonalds), and yes its been around since Long Island was a British colony (sarcasm) but its nowhere near as good as people make it out to be. Checkers/Rallys and Five Guys still reign supreme.

I must say, I’m very disappointed with this place. I honestly don’t understand the hype. The prices were ok but that’s really about it. We had the quarter pounder with cheese, a chocolate and vanilla milkshake, and one small and one large fries. The small was really small and the large?? Idk what they consider large but that wasn’t it. No toppings, the vanilla milkshake was thick but really kind of flavorless. The burgers were comparable to mcdonalds. We both left there still hungry. And CASH ONLY?? NO THANKS. Five guys is the way to go. Free toppings, BACON!! AND HUGE servings of fries. Their “small” can feed a small family and their large a small army. Their burgers are tasty and their milkshakes yummy. I wasn’t impressed at all with All American. Will not go back and would not recommend to a friend.

Get an ATM!!! Honestly its disrespectful to your customers. This community has supported you for decades and you cant find it within yourself to provide an ATM? I just had to cross Merrick Rd twice at rush hour in the dark to get to an ATM!! Someone is going to get hit by a car one day because you refuse to provide an electronic payment method. I asked the server how many complaints you guys get. He said "Tons!!" How can you constantly ignore your customers? I just dont understand why you wouldnt get one??? You make money off of it! I get you dont want to pay a fee to accept credit cards. But you could make money on an ATM!! Your food is great but Im not going to give business to a company that can ignore its customers so blatantly. Good bye.

I went there for the first time today. Its boggling all of these great reviews. The large cheeseburger that everyone raves about is barely a quarter pounder. No lettuce; no tomato; no onions. Soft simple bun. It reminded me of the burgers that come in a happy meal. The regular size burger is about the same size. The prices are decent but this was nothing to write home about. If you are the type that likes a nice meaty burger with great toppings -- forget this place. Its just a regular burger. They dont even ask you how you want it cooked. Just like mcdonalds. The Mcdonalds angus burger is way way better than this. Fries were ok. Knish was very good.

CASH ONLY. I dont know if Long Island is famous for anything, but if it is, I would guess it to be famous for this family owned Burger joint thats been around since the 70s(at least). Burgers range from $1-$4 dollars and taste absolutely great for such a low price. The hot dogs, fish sandwich, French fries, onion rings, and ESPECIALLY the Knish are all equally low priced and amazing as well. Expect there to be a wait as this place always has customers. The only seating is outside though, so be ready for that when you go. Absolutely worth the trip if youre withing 20 minutes of the place, I would travel up to an hour for it, but thats just me.
