Overall we were quite happy with our experience at The Heights. We sat at a bar table with another couple so I cant speak to the dining room menu and experience, but we will certainly be back. We arrived at around 5:30 on a Thursday evening and there might have been one other occupied table in the entire restaurant. It did get busy later, but it appears pretty easy to get a table at The Heights. We found the servers and staff to be very friendly and eager to please. The drink menu is quite frankly awesome--they have a lot of interesting cocktails and the serving sizes are large. My wife ordered a mixed drink and it came out in a huge tumbler. They have a few beers on tap, many bottled beers, and a pretty good selection of whiskeys and other liquors. For those of you who are bourbon aficionados, they have a few hard-to-get bottles, albeit probably for high prices. I stuck with beer because I found the whiskey prices to be a bit steep. The food was very good all around. We ordered a chips-and-salsa appetizer that came with what appeared to be house-made flour tortilla chips. I had the fish and chips. The fish was perfect, crispy, and delicious--although the fries were a bit limp and disappointing. The other dishes at the table were enjoyed by all. We also ordered a cheesecake dessert which was simply amazing. Check it out if youre in the area and dont mind splurging--it is quite pricey here. Dont hesitate to sit in the bar and order off the bar menu, which is pretty extensive.

We went there with a group, ordering off a limited menu, so youd think they could get it right, but no, several of us were brought the wrong food and had to wait for the right thing to be brought out. Once our food arrived, it was pretty much inedible. The brisket au jus sandwich was 90% fat and gristle. I would have sent it back, but I didnt want to wait another 15 minutes. I ordered dessert, hoping for some sustenance from this meal, and received a couple of just OK cannoli. The service was also lacking. We had to ask for everything, like silverware, napkins, and refills. This place was a serious disappointment.

The best restaurant in Ithaca. The pizza reminds me of Florence. The dishes are made with quality ingredients and prepared with care, each dish Ive had at the Heights has been excellent. The kitchen even stayed open a little late just to serve my husband and me on our last visit. I was disappointed to read the review from the person whos party went there in May and had poor service and food, it is hard to believe based on the experience that Ive always had at the Heights Cafe.

My favorite restaurant of its class in Ithaca- offers whole fish! and always incredibly variable, creative menu that puts effort in each of its components vs centering on your primary protein (steak, short rib, salmon, chicken) and adding starches and vegetables. Love their house salads that change every day. very good quality to price ratio for lunch. entrees have either been a hit or slightly disappointing, appetizers always good (great veal sweetbreads)

They have a good collection of grilled fish entrees. I wish they use less added sugar in some entrees: e.g. instead of using candied cranberries in the grilled salmon entree, just use fresh unsweetened cranberries.

I eat here several times a year. It is the best restaurant in Ithaca. They always have great chef specials each day. Not only is the food great but it is served artistically. The serviceis usually good.

the calamarie appetizer was very good, but the twice cooked short rib appetizer was very disappointing - very dry and tough - definitely not the caliber that you would expect from this restaurant.

The entree was good. However, the cheese cake taste really bad. Besides, two days after the dinner, I found out they double charge me for the meal. I asked for refund and they responded so slow.

Had three appitizers and two pizzas there, everything is below fast-food level, yet charges Manhattan price. Sit outsides, had non-stop fliers visting plus dog poo smell. Never go back again.
