There are not a lot of delivery options in the highland New Paltz areas, so I thought I would give Vigneto a try one night really hungry. Now everyone knows bruschetta is made without cheese. I ordered a bruschetta pie and they took a cheese pie and dumped chopped up tomatoes and onions on top.......the most disgusting pizza i ever ate and the most expensive. I was looking for the dairy free bruschetta. I tried again another really expensive pasta dish one entree 16.95 gnocci with pea and shallots portobello mushrooms and light cream sauce. thats not what i got. no peas, heavy pink sauce no light cream sauce, the mushrooms were deep fried and thrown on top whole chunks...not even chopped up, the chicken was rubbery like it was microwaved and thrown on top....nothing about it what worth the price. nothing was cooked with each other, they didnt take on any of each others flavors....the oil used for the mushrooms wasnt olive oil its was nasty deep fryer oil...vegetable oil..tasted like i was eating cheap finger foods and felt like it in my belly. the worst quality ever. Dont waste your money on crappy fake italian food you are better off opening a box of pasta and a jar of sauce, tastes better, much healthier, and costs way less and closer to italian than Vigneto. If you stay a motel in the area, its better to starve if you have no other options...i felt so sick from the grease, or something...i spent 29.00 on a dish of greasy deep fried food......whod a thought? wish this review existed before i ordered. nothing about this review is false or exaggerated.

Located in the town of Highland is an amazing Italian restaurant. I went there with a friend for lunch and we shared a pizza. It was so delicious. They also have a lot of other great Italian dishes too, that my friend who goes there a lot says that every dish is delicious and you get more than what you pay for. Great selection of wine too. For my first time going I had an awesome experience. The wait time for the food was not long at all and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The waiter always made sure our drinks were good and asked us how the food was and if he could get us anything else. I highly recommend Vigneto Cafe especially for Valentines day coming up. It seems to have a romantic type setting for you and a loved one. I know I will definitely be going back to try other dishes in the future!

We stopped in for lunch on a Saturday while passing through town, using our GPS to find a local restaurant. We hadnt seen any reviews but it looked like the nicest eatery on the street. They had one handsome young guy working the dining room and two outside tables. The place was clean and we were seated right away. Nice music, hot fresh bread, nice fresh salad, and nice solid tableware (not the chintzy diner stuff). The food was reasonably priced and it was DELICIOUS! I highly recommend the veal Parmesan or the chicken Parmesan. Although we only saw the one gentleman waiting tables, he was courteous and attentive. I wish the gps had restaurant ratings built in...we got lucky on this one!

What a wonderful dinner we had outside. The street was not busy on a Sunday afternoon about 5:30 and it was our choice to sit outside. The inside is comfortable and sort of cozy but we chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful day. Our waitress was great and very attentive to our needs without hovering over us. The wine tour was a perfect size and not skimpy at all. A great house wine. We ordered the Chicken Della Casa which had a artichoke wine sauce and was terrific. Most meals came with a side of pasta and a salad. I would definitely order it again. All in all we had a great experience our first time here and will be sure to visit again.

had a seafood risotto in july and it was magnificent - little clams, shrimp, calimari - rice cooked to al dente perfection. had the same in late august and very disappointed - must have be trying to save money - no clams, no shrimp, no calamari - just some mussels an some overcooked rice with too mush tomato sauce. also hadsome mushroom soup - too heavy, too much olive oil. its a great little restaurant for Highland - hate to see it cutting corners,

Ive eaten here dozens of times and its one of my favorite get out of New Paltz places to dine. The food is excellent, the service pleasant and friendly and not once has it ever been "busy." Just keep that a secret or it will be busy. My favorite thing to order? Lobster ravioli, no wait, its the brick-oven pizza, no, I think its the shrimp scampi. Oh heck, who am I kidding, you go and decide for yourself and let me know your favorite!

A friend told my husband about this place about a year ago and weve been there 3 times since, it is now our favorite place, although we live about an hour away its definitely worth the drive. Staff is friendly and very warm, atmosphere is very quaint and the food is to die for! We get the chicken scampi and the chicken franchise and they are perfection. CANT rave enough, everything tastes very fresh and high quality:)

The food here is excellent. The service is slow, but you dont come to a restaurant like this to rush through your meal. They are attentive and will get you whatever you need. Have been here a couple times and have always had great food!

First time loved the food and service , we had eggplant, stuffed chicken pastas were all homemade cream sauces were the best I ever had in Ulster County NY I think they are better than the famous Bellinies in New Hamphire

Great place for amazing fresh Italian food at great prices. My friend and I thought the food was so fresh and not heavy like some restaurants tend to make their Italian dishes. I would definitely go back there again
