To order from the saddle brook diner is a gamble, there is 50% chance they mess up your order. Their food is good, but they constantly forget parts of it. I have had bacon missing from bacon cheeseburgers, hairs in my soup, entire side orders missing. I have called. They are not apologetic. I have dealt with them because their food is usually pretty good, but now Im done. On July 25th I ordered two lean chicken burgers with broccoli on the side. I picked them up at 9.45. When I got home, there was no broccoli and no sauce. I called, and their phone girl was very polite and gaurunteed that I would get those burgers comped when I ordered them again. Today, august 6, I called and politely explained the situation to the man on the phone, and even gave him the name of the girl who guaranteed my meal. I told him I had come in two weeks ago, and said "I dont even remember what I did two minutes. Tabitha isnt here, so what do you want?" He was rude, and roughly handed me to another person, the owner. The owner told me that I would only be getting one meal comped, he would not be honoring what his employee promised. He was very rude about it. Hes lost two customers, and he deserves to lose more. I have worked in the food industry, and have given more to people whos meals have been less messed up. Do not eat here, unless you enjoy gambling and losing.

Usually have a good experience at this diner. Tonight my family and I went out to eat. Unfortunately we decided with saddle brook diner. My two cousins had received cold soups, we continued. When my mom received her Cuban panini, whatever meat they put on the sandwich was rancid and had a complete grey coloring across the meat, obvious signs of spoiling. Upon receiving the rest of our food the fries were cold and burgers not fully cooked. So we finished eating and chalked it up as a onetime incident. We wanted to express our concern for the spoiled meat and other issues we encountered. We were berated and attack by one of the staff there posing as a person who would be able to help us. His explanation for the grey meat was that it is fresh ham. Absolutely uncalled for and unfortunately will not be able to eat there anymore.

You mean SBD? This place is always good, sometimes great and can even be excellent. It all depends on the time you go and what kind of specials they have running. Their short rib dinner special is awesome, AWESOME! Burgers are good, sandwiches are good, wraps are good, salads are good, everything from the appetizer menu is good but the only thing Ive ever gotten and was disappointed with was the corned beef and hash. Ever since then Ive havent gotten the breakfast there but my wife still does so I guess it cant be that bad. Unless, my breakfast cooking skills are actually shite too!? ....nahhhh

I really judge any restaurant on how well that they make soup; and their soups are amazing, best matzo ball soup ever. But the hosts and wait staff are mediocre at best and are usually quite condescending; Ive even had to argue with the owner on two occasions. I always dine alone so maybe that is a problem for them. The food is great though, specials also, and special dietary needs are never a problem. And the desserts are unbelievable, the tiramisu is out of this world! I only get take out now because of the way that I was treated.

WEll the food is tipical diner food.... Went there with the kids waited with the boys 20 mins b4 being seated while people that can after me were seated first..then the waiter had an attitude then they charged me for refills.....for the kids juices....fountain juice and soda paid 16.74 yes charged 16.74 for two juices and 1soda...the bill total was rolled he 30.00. So food was 13.74 ...and 16.74 for beverages.....not happy....and when I approached the owners wife she said yes I charge for refills and rolled he eyes...smh

The good: Generous portions, hearty food, good prices for the quantity. Classic and quality diner ambiance and decor. The bad: No substitutions, no sharing, no exit through this door, no this, no that. Language barriers with serving staff means if its not described on the menu you probably wont have your questions answered. The ugly: If you have special dietary needs pretend its 1995 again and youll be fine.

1. Salad is not great. The cucumbers were not fresh. The salad was stuffed with lettuce, had 2 grape tomatoes, and may be four cucumbers. 2. They could not make mashed potatoes. I wonder why since they baked two potatoes instead. 3. Wait time for food to come was very very long.....ok I thought may be itll taste better than usual. 4. The food was very average, nothing special.

One of the best and most popular diners in the area. Love the food, I would recommend the special I had yesterday which was California Benedict and I had a short stack of French toast. The service is pretty fast and servers are mostly friendly. However, if you go at midnight or later the service declines and the servers get pretty moody.. overall awesome diner though.

I have been a loyal customer to this diner for years. Being a kid in the 80s I have had my fair trys at manny good diners in the north jersey and NYC area. This place by far has the best food,best service That I can remember. All thoug I have had a few bad episodes. With some food servers. They always still manage to keep me as a loyal customer.

This is a family owned diner. It has a great atmosphere. The food is veryggod. It has the best breakfast of any of the local places. Lunch and dinner menus have excellent choices that taste great and the portions are great for the prices they charge. Ive been going there for years with family and friends. I highly recommend it.

Possibly one of the worst diners to eat at. The atmosphere is the only thing Id say is decent about this place. The food is absolutely HORRIBLE. The sandwiches and entrees are by far the worst in the area. The owners are very wealthy and are extremely rude about you as a person bringing them business. Never going there again.

The golden pancakes were great but the waiter incorrectly charged me for bacon. The bacon automatically comes on the side but instead the waitor charged me for extra bacon and when I spoke to the manager about it, he said it was my fault when really, it was the waitors fault. Management and staff clearly need training.

Food was pretty good. The Monte Christo needs powdered sugar. The burger are obviously a frozen Patti but still was ok.. nothing to rave about. Some of the other sandwhich including the triple decker looked pretty good too. Nice space inuding private room for parties too.

Food and presentation was good. Service was good, a little dry... Was fairly busy. Price was also good... The bad: No real maple syrup, corned beef hash not homemade, and a hair on our toast... Promptly corrected. Overall not a bad place to eat.
