This used to be THE best and most authentic Japanese restaurant in Westchester. Having spent time in Japan and studying Japanese cuisine, it was a treat to have food that tasted like it came from the heart of Tokyo. The Japanese clientele eating there was also a good sign. Went in to eat yesterday after not being there for several months, greeted by Chinese chefs and Chinese wait staff. The food we were served was way below par. The dashi in the Udon soup was weak and from a mix. Sashimi was served with gari (pickled ginger), something that is not done. The fish was cut inexpertly. On and on. A real shame, as I made it a point to eat at Tsuru whenever I was in Westchester. No more

This is no longer the same Tsuru. The name of the restaurant stayed the same, but the staff and chief have changed. The food is way sub par. I wouldnt even call this a Japanese restaurant any more. The tempura that we ordered has the wrong batter. They used Tonkatsu batter on termpura and over-fried them. The Oyako donburi that we ordered is made of big chuck of tasteless chicken breast. It is supposed to be made from mostly thinly sliced beef. Extremely disappointed.

This restaurant has changed so much from how it used to be. It might not be as authentic as I used to be but I feel thats a plus. The interior feel more spacious its brite an fun. The menu has been expanded and the food is well presented and very enjoyable. I have eaten here with my family a few times. And picked up there great value bento box lunches a too. Now it become the go to place for Japanese food for lunch with coworkers and my self.

9 dollar lunch special to15 dinner! fresh.large amount fish serving than any other japan restaurant. Ihave ever known.100% other japan place make you hungry- too small portion served ! this is the best for my 50 years dinning at the" japanese "restaurant! best place to have raw fish or cooked! you can ask waitress anything any time!they are young and shy so have to ask ! they are pure !less talk and serve you excellent ! so ASK!!

We are regular patrons of Tsuru since it has been redone and taken over by new owners. The sushi is always fresh and spot on flavorful. The staff is helpful, friendly and efficient. And , even though I am usually only a tea drinker, Ive developed a taste for their lovely House Special cocktail PARIS, I"M IN LOVE. The ambience is calm and cozy. I heartily recommend Tsuru,

Sushi is amazing, soup and salad appetizer is free with the most amazing salad dressing on top. Beautiful restaurant, drinks menu looks interesting with a lot of options, will try next time i come which will be soon, cant beat 3 sushi rolls for 11$

Its okay. Did the lunch bento box, beef teriyaki. The beef was good, the crab rangoon was good, the shrimp shumai wasnt that great and the California roll was awful. Not so much of a good deal if only 50% of the bento box is good.
