I dont normally give negative reviews, but this one is warranted. I was craving sushi like crazy (when is that ever not the case though?) so I dragged my husband along to this place after purchasing a Groupon for myself. We figured I would use the Groupon and my husband would purchase his own entree because he isnt a huge sushi fan. I called the place beforehand to make a reservation for two and asked if they are accepting Groupon (it was the weekend, so I wasnt sure) and they said no reservation is necessary and that they would accept my Groupon. Anyway, so we arrived there and I was pretty excited - walked in, and the place reeked of fish but I ignored that because I just wanted sushi in my stomach as soon as possible. The waitress came over and saw I had Groupon open on my phone and she instantly made a face. She said, "you cant use just one Groupon if there are two people." I said my husband would be ordering his own entree. She responded saying, "thats not allowed. I know the Groupon doesnt state this, but if he wants to eat at the same table as you then he will have to purchase a Groupon as well." After letting her know this "rule" was not included in the fine print, she simply shrugged and walked away. My husband then purchased his own Groupon on the spot. She came back and I let her know we are good now and that each of us has a Groupon now. She replied, "you cant purchase a Groupon in the restaurant. We wont be paid for 24 hours so you cant use it. You can get the $44 all-you-can eat option" At this point, I was absolutely annoyed and said, "are you serious? Thats the most ridiculous thing Ive heard. Everyone buys Groupons on a whim. I just wasted money on two Groupons I cant use?" She let me know that it isnt her problem, so I asked her to get her manager. The manager came over and repeated exactly what the waitress had said. At that point, my husband told me that its time we just left, so we did. If a place is so against the use of Groupons, then they shouldnt allow it as an option to begin with. Additionally, the treatment they give their Groupon customers is absolutely horrendous. Maybe if the treatment was a little better, my husband and I would have put the Groupons aside and purchased entrees, however, the service was so terrible that it wasnt worth it.

Im updating my review because Ive been using their delivery service these days. Their delivery guy is simply too rude and he complains about the tip that he is given. When ordering online, there are three choices for leaving a tip: 10%, 15% or 20%. The minimum you can leave is a 10% tip or a custom tip. I just placed an order for two lunch specials, which are $8 each, along with some other things for a total of around $25. The delivery guy came furious, telling me I gave him a $1.50 tip and that I should have given him $5. With an attitude like that, and keeping in mind that I cant give a tip that is not in proportion to the amount of the purchase I made. If my purchase was $50-$60 I can totally give a $5 tip but if my purchase is $25 excluding tax, that is simply not fair. Besides, Tips are given for good service and coming to the doorstep of the customer to tell them off for giving you a tip, is simply the rudest thing and Definitely destroys the work you did to earn it. The guidelines that we follow to give tips are not made by the delivery guy. I certainly wont be using their delivery service as much as I did after this happened. However, this is still one of my favorite places and their food is very good, the prices are good. I do take a star off because a good delivery service is important especially for those times when we cant take the time to go out for a nice dinner outside. There is good customer service at the restaurant but once you decide to go for delivery, there is not even a tiny particle of it. Rudest delivery person Ive ever met.

1.0 star rating 8/30/2016 they should be Zero stars! I dine out a lot and this is the worst place ever! I was telling my friend how good groupon was and he joined via my refer a friend We deiced to try $28 for Two Hours of All-You-Can-Eat Sushi with Three Drinks at Fuji Japnese Restaurant (Thats where everything went horribly wrong) The place was empty 2 tables. We sat down to order and we mentioned to the waitress that we were going to purchase the groupon via the app for the all you can eat sushi. she said NO YOU MUST PURCHASE THE GROUPON 24 hours IN ADVANCE! they she said to order it for $45 we said no we came for the groupon deal. She refused to serve us. we were humiliated and left. I called Groupon support and told them what happened he was very nice. he said there were no restrictions and nothing about having to purchase 24 hours in advance. We went back in and they were very condescending and said we dont care you cant use the groupon today. We had both taken cabs there they we had to leave and take a cab to another place.I use Groupon A lot! I have been to so many places and never in my life did any of the places even high end places like Bobby Vans and Delmonicos make you feel cheap and a worthless customer for using the groupon then the manager and staff did at Fuji. I am appalled by their behavior. and my experience was extremely underwhelming. I think you Groupon should reconsider your relationship with them they are not a good ambassador for their company in the least!

This place has such poor service. I arrived with two Groupons for 2 hours all you can eat. After the initially scanned the Groupons, no one came to greet us or take our drink order for 20 minutes. To make things even worse, another couple - also with Groupons came in and was greeted immediately. Throughout the night, I had to stop waiters in order to order food or drinks. Often, when a 53 thin asian woman would bring our food, she would slam the plates on the table and take plates of food from the table without asking if we were finished - which we were not. The food itself was fine - nothing special. I ordered fried ice cream and told them no chocolate, but they brought it with chocolate on top. When I complained, they told me I ordered it with the chocolate although I stated two times, "No Chocolate". The fish had a strange smell that ive never smelt before.. I didnt get sick the day after so it must have been ok. Lets just say the food matches the low price. All in all, it was a horrible experience. I do not know why we received such poor service while everyone else seemed to receive quality service. I can only assume it was because of our skin tone. Therefore, I do not recommend anyone of color to go there. There are many other sushi places that treat their customers well and we regretted not going to our normal spot.

I have been to this restaurant three previous times and the only reason I returned was to use the groupons that I purchased foolishly all at once. I had two groupons and was bringing two additional diners. I called ahead to check and they stated that the two additional diners would have to sit at a separate table. I went anyway and my guest had to purchase the ask you can eat package in order to sit with us. Since I had been before, I had two warn all of my guest of their quirky policies. You are welcome to order as much as you want within the two hour dining limit but they frowned upon wastage. If they felt that you wasted food, they had the discretion to charge you the a la carte price for each wasted plate. In addition, they had a written policy about breakage of glasses or dining ware. For each broken item you were charged a two dollar replacement fee.i also warned them about the extremely slow service so we ordered basically everything at once to prevent the long wait time to even get the attention the servers. The place also has a odor of fish that takes a little getting used to. A positive is that portions are large but the food is mediocre at best.
