I have been going to Buttercooky for about 10 years and while i love the cakes, cookies and cupcakes. The recent increased popularity has taken a toll on the customer service aspect. I remember when if you were picking up a cake order you did not have to wait on line that was out the door to get your order. They would get someone to get it for you and process it. My husband went there to pick up a cake with our toddler who fell asleep in his arms (because he had to wait for about 20 minutes in line while people argued about prices and asking questions). Not only did they not allow him to simply pick up the order, no one offered to help open the door or carry it out to tha car. He had a sleeping 3 year old in one hand and a 10 in round in the other. No staff nor any of the customers had common courtesy to offer to open the door. (which swings in so he could not push it open). I may seriously consider another bakery going forward. Great products but seriously disappointed in lack of customer service.

Do yourself a favor, if you buy a cake here, buy it right before you eat it. I bought two cakes for my mom...( btw, her name was spelled incorrectly on both and the sales woman was hesitant to change it because she said she had spelled it back to me and Id said yes, so she only changed one. But I digress, one cake we had right away. The other was a vanilla cake with fruits on top. I made sure to ask if it could stay out and not spoil since we would be using it the next day, and I was told yes.... Refrigerated it that night and took it out for a small party the next afternoon for about 4 hours before it was cut....how embarrassing when we opened the box and the some of fruits had mold. Wasnt too bad so we threw those fruits off, but two days later took it from the refrigerator again for a bite and...all the leftover fruits on the top were moldy. This whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

if I could write a half of star I would ... this bakery thats known and promoted for there excellent cakes. Did a birthday cake for my coworker worth over 100 dollars was spent and to my surprise after signing happy birthday my co worker we could barley cut into the cake because it was a triple layer of burned cake (smh) more than disappointed and was completely unacceptable because they only offered to give her store credit even after bringing them a slice to prove the horrible cake the provided. store credit? after that experience ... cant imagine if it was for a more rare occasions like her wedding... guess well be going somewhere else for that cake. BEWARE YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I went to Buttercooky on December 30th to buy my mom a cake for her birthday. The Employee by the name of Mary Ellen assisted me and the customer services was HORRIBLE. I ask her if I could have gold writing on the cake and she told me it wasnt available, which I understood. But when I asked her what type of coloring was available her reply was "regular colors". How would I know what regular colors are? When I asked her if she could tell me what "regular colors" are she had the nastiest attitude. Spoke to the Assistant Manager Joanna and she said she would have upper management speak to her. I will NEVER come to this establishment again.

I walked into Buttercooky expecting to spend well over $200 on Easter gifts. I was not acknowledged by, not one, not two, but 3 young girls behind the counter. One girl looked at me, walked away and then came back and decided to answer the phone instead of helping me. Another was texting on her phone and the third girl looked at me twice and never helped me. So I walked out ... and took my business elsewhere. I feel bad for all those people who are working hard making all those wonderful products. If you make those wonderful cakes Im sure the objective is to sell them. Thank you... sorry for your poor salesmanship.

Ordered a cake from here for my brothers birthday Bc a friend recommended them. I submitted my inquiry online but did not receive any confirmation until I called them about week later after not hearing back. When the cake was picked up they did not write happy birthday as was requested in the online inquiry and confirmed over the phone. The cake tasted good but a little too sweet for my personal taste. Friendly service over the phone however I was told to expect a call back regarding the complaint about the missing info but another week later and nothing.

Buttercooky has great cakes, when they are fresh. It seems to be hit or miss. For Easter, my family ordered a cake with fruit in it and the fruit was fermented. It was disappointing and embarrassing in front of company, but they issued us a full refund. I originally wrote this review 6 years ago. 2 years ago, we ordered a cake for a family party and there was hair in it. They refused to issue us a refund and the owner actually accused us of planting the hair. As long time customers, we were appalled.

Fresh, fresh, fresh....need I say more? Ever bite into that amazing looking piece of cake, pastry, etc., only to find that it tastes a week old? That will NEVER happen to you here. Plus, everything is delicious! Our family favs are: 7 layer cake, almond horns, Rainbow cookies, pignoli cookies, turtle cookies, napoleons, bread pudding (yes, were foodies), and oh those lobster tails...Were asked to bring them to every family function. BBC can contend with Veneiros and any other classic Manhattan bakery.

The special cake we ordered tasted good, but given the amount of money they charged us for it...they could have had it ready for us at the time they promised. Instead we waited over 30 minutes for them to finish it up when we were in a rush to get the cake to a surprise party...which we barely made it to. If you need something at a particular time, add in 15 minutes to wait on a long line and then another 30 minutes for them to finish up your cake that should have already been done.

Im rating only on the fact that I came in to pick up a cheesecake and walked to the front counter where most people go to get a pick up for me to stand there without being acknowledged for practically 10 minutes. Then I ask for where do I pick up and be told to wait on a line and have people that came in after me go before me. Not going to happened so I waited a few more minutes until a young lady came and asked for my order to then get my pick up. Pick up should never take that long

Wonderful bake shop in Floral park! They have everything you can imagine- cakes, cookies, macaroons, cake pops, pastries, bread, marzipans and so much more. On taste I would say theyre cookies are above average but theyre bread and pastries are delicious! Cute little spot for a nice break with your coffee, they have some tables and a grandiose display. Overall would come back and even get something customized for weddings or special occasions - beautiful work
