I usually love this place, been going since a kid with my family. Last night after hiking bear mountain I stopped in with my brother and friends. we were seated kindly but the bus boy came over and practically dropped my knife and fork down and when he brought water it leaked over the top everywhere, but didnt bring back napkins to dry it. after ordering the food came and everything looked good until I opened my sandwich and everything that was supposed to be on it was missing. I ordered the n.y. grilled chicken deluxe sandwich and asked for mayo instead of the Russian dressing. the sandwich came with cheese and bacon, the sandwich I received had two chicken breasts with mayo on the side. When I told the waitress she said the cheese was on the bread, I showed her no cheese and then she told me thats not what I ordered. when I told her what I ordered she said no you didnt, like Im some child who didnt remember. then she gave me a fake smile and said "oh but dont worry Ill fix it for you." With her attitude I lost my appetite completely. my sandwich came back less than a minute later with 2 slices of Kraft cheese singles barely melted onto the bread and no bacon, my brother had to get up to go tell her and she came and told me that shell bring me a side of bacon to put on my sandwich. instead of taking it back and correcting the order I had to make my sandwich. last time I checked I was a grad student teaching math and not a chef. I did not like the attitude of the waitress, she clearly didnt care about her clientele. but Im sure if I went with my father I wouldve been treated differently, which is rude and disgusting. I wouldnt recommend this diner to anyone who respects themselves.

I was going to the Jack OLantern Blaze with family and needed a place to eat before. Restaurants in this area have really mixed reviews so I wasnt sure where to go but then came across this place. Staff was very friendly and the place looked very clean. Has your typical diner feel. I really enjoyed the food. The cole slaw and pickle served before my meal were very fresh. The waitress brought our drinks over immediately. Three of us ate the Pastrami Reuben Deluxe. It was delicious. Nice serving size and the french fries were tasty. My aunt had the salad platter. She loved it. Looked very fresh. When in the area again I would definitely come back here.

Horrible!!! Service is bad! Our waitress was pushing on us, wanted us eat faster and leave, you know... He brought us check when 2 from 4 of us were still eating ....and wasnt nice at all... guy had hard accent and so do I and every time I asked him to repeat my chooses in menu, he showed anger and made me feel like I am stupid....I had friends with me, visiting from Europe, I felt so bad I didnt have a chance to explane them menu because that guy was pushing and showing with all his face and moves he doesnt want to serve to us. I do not know what exactly was the reason of our HORRIBLE experience but I will NOT recommend this place.

Excellent service, wifi and great food all made my meal at the colonial diner one to remember. The wait staff is wonderful and the owner was out and about pouring coffee and greeting customers. Busy as expected on a Sunday morning, but worth whatever wait you might encounter. I had the hickory ham omelet which included a hearty serving of home fries and a cheese of your choice (the mozzarella is advised). I will definitely be stopping at this diner during future trips on 9 south.

Great service and great food! Pure greek diner here in Croton! I recommend the Burgers here. The burgers here are great! The Chili Cheeseburger is my favorite burger. This place has a tremendous amount of homemade goodies. They make their own soups, sauces and Chili. You can purchase their sauces, soups and chili for your own meal too. Including their Tzatziki sauce. A large variety of items on their menu too.

I love this diner. Ive been bringing my granddaughters here since they were toddlers. They are now teens and we still love coming here. We love the breakfast and my granddaughter says they make the best pancakes and French toast ever! I also meet my cousin here every few weeks for breakfast. we are never rushed and the food and service is always the best. Thanks Pete and family!

The original ads for this place in the 1970s. Same management as well as a full diner experience. They also serve liquor for those who have had a long day. Good food, always seems fresh, but somethings on the menu sound like they have been cooking in the back for years. Big deserts and attentive staff await you - they do really well with call ahead/pick up items.

Went here after reading the previous review. Was very disappointed. Waitress was terse and not very friendly. The menu was extensive and there were so many choices not sure they could really do justice to anything. Two of our orders were wrong and the food was marginally OK. We ate there at night and perhaps it is better for breakfast and lunch.

The Croton diner is a classic spot to hang out with friends and see the locals in their natural environment. There isnt exactly a standout item on their menu, but they do everything well and will always leave you satisfied as you walk out the door. It also captures the diner atmosphere to near perfection.

Love coming here! Its been awhile since the last time, I was craving some fish & chips so I decided to try it their irish style. It was the best I ever had. The fish was fluffy and it had a nice crunch. Their staff is friendly & always attentive. You can get from breakfast to dinner.

Good service and great food. The burgers and Greek lemon soup is superb! Everything is priced reasonably, especially the specials. Some dishes are hit or miss, but what Ive mentioned has always been very good with huge portions. Either way, you wont leave hungry.

6 of us dined last night - what a feast! Excellent food, huge portions, low prices! The largest menu we have ever seen made us wary, but everything from Greek spinach pie to pot roast to fried chicken was perfect! REAL mashed potatoes!

Food was pretty good except they burned my dads toast and they dont have iceberg lettuce.. Other than that we had a very pleasant experience.. The waiter was very attentive and the egg salad sandwich was excellent..

Food was old and burnt. I had the spinach pie and it looked like it had been heated several times and the top was burnt. My friend had a steak sandwich and could not cut it with a steak knife

Great diner ambiance. Extensive menu, good prices, good portions, nice specials. Good matzo ball soup. The dishes we tried were on the bland side, but we will still be going back.

Great breakfasts, im sure all the fare is also, good price quick service, all you would expect from a solid diner. If in a wheelchiar or use a walker you will need to be carried in.
