First timer here. My family and I were around the area and were craving some burgers. We were originally going to go to another restaurant, but it was closed so we ended up coming here. First off, the food is great but a bit expensive as to what you get. Burgers are $10+ which is normal for a restaurant BUT they dont even come with fries or any sides since thats extra (which I think is a bit crazy to say the least). Service was excellent and our burgers were cooked good but not perfect since mine was just a bit overcooked. Regardless, it still tasted great. I ordered the Royale burger and shared a side of the maple bacon fries. Let me tell you this now. If youre a fan of bacon and sweet potato fries, you MUST order the maple bacon fries. Hands down the best fries I have ever tasted. Their Umami ketchup (it taste like regular ketchup just sweeter) was also great and I had it with my burger and fries (even though the fries didnt even need it since it tasted so great without it). Even though Im giving this place 4 stars because basic sides such as fries are extra, I would have no problem coming back here again for another bite to eat. Great food, excellent service, and the best damn sweet potato fries I have ever tasted? Id be a regular here if I lived around the area.

My husband and I were in the area and decided to try it out. We heard good things and no better time than the present right? Well, I cant really tell you how the food is because, um, we never even got to order. We went on a Saturday evening (around 7) and there were empty tables, it wasnt packed at all. We waited about 15 minutes to sit after 3 hostesses came up to us asking "how many" and telling us it will be a "5 minute wait". 3 different hostesses, 3 different times. We sat, we waited 10 minutes, no one came to our table to even take a drink order. We waited 5 more. So when it came to the 15 minute mark I said "ok lets wait 10 more minutes and see what happens". Nothing. So all in all, we waited a total of about 45 minutes to get absolutely nothing. Dont come to this sad excuse of a restaurant. The only thing cool about it is the decor. If your in the area go to Fabians or sweet chick.

This place is definitely worth a visit! Ive been meaning to eat at Umami since they opened their first location in New York - now that theyve set up shop in Williamsburg I finally went. The ambience is pretty cool without being too Williamsburg-y hipster, I liked the bicycles that are suspended from the ceiling. Our waitress was insanely friendly and walked us through the extensive menu. The food was solid - high quality and rich flavor at a slightly higher price and with smaller portions than what Im used to in Brooklyn. The three house-made sauces they have tasted amazing. I will definitely return to try one of the more exotic burgers. The only subpar dish we had were the truffle fries, which had only very faint truffle flavor - they reminded me more of the melted cheese curds you might find in poutine. Cool place overall, drop by before people take notice and it gets super busy!

Ate here last night with my bf. Nice decor, Great vibes and AMAZING FOOD! Only downfall.... The food took about an hour to come out and the place wasnt packed so I was confused. If it wasnt for this I wouldve given a 5 star rating. The waiter forgot almost EVERYTHING even my garlic sauce which he offered after my burger was done. He was a cool guy though and kept checking on us so I still tipped him. Some nights are better than others. Lol. My boyfriend had the manly burger which I highly recommend. You wont be disappointed. He told me not to order it cause he would give me a piece. Oh how that changed once the food came out. He gave me a penny sized piece and I was basically on my own after that. Lmao. I had the Umami. It wasnt terrible but it taste like crap compared to the manly. Lol Overall its a nice place and I will definitely be back.

Was excited to finally give this place a try. The portobello mushroom was much larger than the bun. There was excessive aïoli truffle cheese, which made the burger nearly uneatable! The trio sliders were over cooked and their buns stiff. The "Exclusive" burgers pastrami tasted like bacon and was barely existent. Finally the service was passable and slow even though the place was empty. The manager asked if we were happy and tried leaving before we could reply. Umami youve become a chain establishment with low quality products and high price points.

Attention burger lovers: Umami Burger Williamsburg has a 9-course (yes NINE) tasting menu, each burger with accompanying drinks. Perfect for a double date or a guys night out, indulge in every single one of their BEST burgers - cut into 4 perfect bites. Remember there are nine courses, so youll want to pace yourself. Must save room for the Truffle Burger! Our server was eager to help and explained everything in detail as it came out. Truly a fun experience!!!

I had always heard about Umami Burger but never had the opportunity to stop in and try it. I have been depriving myself. I had the Korean BBQ burger and it was amazing! My friend had the truffle fries and couldnt get enough. We went on a Sunday night and took full advantage of the $2 drafts. The wings are interesting and I totally enjoyed them. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I wasnt feeling the truffle fries that much.

This has become my new favorite place. Craving a burger my boyfriend and I decided to try here. It was amazeballs. The manly does not disappoint! If you like bacon and I mean juicy bacon JUNKS! Get it. The maple bacon fries was awesome as well. I had the throwback burger which was pretty good to. But! The highlight was our server Erica. She was really friendly with great energy. Thanks for making our visit great Erica.

Evenings/nights for sure a nice restaurant, for lunch we found the music too loud. It was hard to talk to each other and even to the waiters. The food was delicious! We had different kind of burgers, even the vegetarian one was fancy as well as the variety of different kind of salads. They also serve sugar-free icetea, which was a nice change here in the USA. The prices are average - about 15 $ for a burger.

Wasnt sure I believed the hype about this new flavor discover umami - especially from a chain, but our meal was fantastic! They had just opened for lunch when we came in so it was a little slow and the chef came out to ask how everything was which was very unexpected. The truffle fries here are covered in liquid cheese and truffle goodness and served with several dipping sauces - a must!

Excellent service , waitress was very nice and welcoming, bartender was spot on with the drinks .BUT THE CHEF SUXXXXX needs to go back to burger university in McD to learn how to fry and cook burgers, never had fries anywhere half the bowl was dripping with oil , also the buns were drenched in it too WTF.Me and my date was dissapointed, only service was only thing good.
