WASTE OF YOUR PRECIOUS TIME AND MONEY AND MAYBE HEARING ! Came here for Mothers Day 2016. Reservations for 5:30 was seated around 5:45. Employees passed our table for 30 minutes without even a glance. No bread, water, veggies, utensils on the table. Music was so loud we had to scream to hear one another at the same table. After we mentioned to a host were we about to die of neglect, they took our drink orders that was another 15 minute wait - for 5 soft drinks. I should have mentioned when we were coming in the restaurant, a couple was coming out and the man was loudly cursing about waiting for over 2 hours and no whats-it-not, so-so-not food {not Sunday/kiddie talk, people}. Should have RAN for our lives then. At the two hour mark thats when they took our appetizer orders, but thats because we were getting up to walk out. The appetizers came another half an hour afterwards. The soup was cold, and tasted like Brine water - pure salt. By this time everyones pressure was up and we watched the table across from us and the table behind us walk out, vex. Three hours of sitting in this dark, chilly room where they had 5 people sitting at a tiny table for 4, a chair was placed in the aisle - {foolishness - should have known we would get bootleg treatment then}. Im over this place. The Hostess kept saying the wait was because the food was made to order but thats a lie because it was a predetermined menu, and there wasnt a hell of a lot to choose from, so these dishes should have been at least in pre-preparation. When she saw us grabbing coats she came with one of the five dishes and my sister said the food was ice cold. So that made to order story ? LIE. Thats when we paid $27 for five tiny fruit punches, four ice cold dirty dish water tasting "fish" soups {where was the fish by the way} ? And an unimaginative bland green salad, no dressing, and headed for the streets. By this time there was a multitude of us out in the front of the restaurant trading our horror stories. I tried to patronize, you Trelawni Place, but dammit, you made it impossible. Turn down the damn music, turn up the lights, the heat, and the service, Trelawni Place, I saw too many people walking out, and cursing outside of your establishment unfed to believe you are okay.

Ive been to Trelawni Place before and the food was pretty good, with that being said this review is not about the food. Its about being UNPROFESSIONAL. A friend and I decided to go back on Sunday 5/28. Before we went we made sure to look at their hours of business which are 4pm-12am everyday. We made the 45 minute trip there and arrived by 845p. Once arrived we pulled on the door and to my surprise, the doors were locked. I could see people eating but the doors were locked tight. A waiter approached the door to let some patrons out and I asked why they were closed. Her reply was that they closed early and were not taking anymore customers. I explained to her that we had made a long trek and knew what we wanted. She then explained that unfortunately she didnt make the policies and there was nothing she could do. I asked to speak to manager or owner and she asked me if I knew their name !??. This was puzzling to me because, I didnt see how this was relevant to the question I asked. She then basically refused to call either. At this time my friend really had to use the restroom and asked If she could use the restroom in the restaurant quickly. The waiters reply was no, but there is a Popeyes down the street. Needless to say I will not be going back. Save your self the time and money, I mean it is Brooklyn, Caribbean restaurants are a dime a dozen.

I just left Trelawni and will not return for the following reasons: (1) The establishment let their super star bartender William go. My wife and I used to go to Trelawni once a week and did have to order food or drinks as Will knew what we wanted. What customer service! He even named a drink after my wife… Too bad for Trelawni as I have Will’s number and following him anywhere he goes. (2) My wife always orders steak and we have never seen a steak this small. Her feelings were soooooo hurt. (3) I wasn’t that hungry so I ordered the usual fries and low-and-behold it wasn’t the usual. They changed the fries from seasoned to regular old greasy fries. (4) Finally, we asked to speak with the manager and he/she felt it wasn’t worthy to hear from their regular customer. The manager returned the message with a 30% discount off the meal which I was even more offended about as I don’t care about the ‘bloodclat’ money. In Summary: The drinks were substandard, the steak was whack, service under par and the manager disrespectful. I’M DONE!!!!!

We got there on a Thursday evening at 10:30pm, party of 6. We were immediately seated and that was a plus. However, it was all down hill from there. Or server for the night brought over 6 glasses and left. 10 minutes went by and no sign of her. 10 quickly turned into 15, 20 minutes. It wasnt until I called her over and asked what the glasses were for that the light bulb went off and she went to get a pitcher with some lemon water. It was at this point that she took our drink and food orders. Just when thought it couldnt get worst it did. Another 15 minutes went by and we havent even gotten our drinks. The food and the drinks ended up coming out at the same time. And the food isnt that impressive. I ordered the coconut shrimp and I was not pleased and I absolutely love coconut shrimp. I have never written a restaurant reviews before or any review for that matter but I felt that this was necessary. Customer service is very important to me and this is the worst that I have ever seen. I will never visit Trelawni again!!!!

Food is great, really great. This restaurant would have been 5 stars if the service was anywhere close to good. Entering the restaurant, my friend and I stood there awkwardly while waiting for someone to notice us. We were placed at a makeshift table and we were handed the menus before we sat. Not very friendly. We ordered but two dishes ran out so we werent able to get them. The waitress offered an alternative which we got, but they were out of the dressing so we didnt get any. If we didnt ask we wouldnt have known. Most things we wouldnt have known if we didnt ask. I observed how the waiters and waitresses addressed the guests and I kept thinking to myself that they probably didnt like tips. Clearly. The food, even though a teensy bit overpriced, makes up for the service. This place has potential to be excellent.

Ive been thinking about going to Trelawneys since it opened. From outside it looks interesting and inviting. When I stepped in my family and I were immediately greeted and seated by the hostess. The decor is very nicely decorated with large paintings. The food was very good, we had oxtails, seafood pasta, ceasar salad, wings and rolls. For dessert we had their signature cheese cake which was so good I came back the next day to pick it up. I would definitely reccomend this place. Minus one star for service that was lacking more towards the end of our meal and no water offered.
