I came here this past Sunday, July 24, 2016 with bff Jenifa!. We shared a tofu appetizer that was stuffed with beef and veggies and drizzled with what seemed like a honey mustard sauce. It was delicious! The surprise, was that they make their own tofu. It makes sense, being that nearly every dish is comprised of it. We also had barley tea and the refills on the water was decent too. For our main dishes, I had the regular spicy beef soondubu and Jenifa! had the mild beef soondubu. The dishes we ordered came with a variety of sides. I really only liked the seaweed and the broccoli sides. The others were not my cup of tea or I couldnt eat due to dietary restrictions. They do start you out with a fried fish. The bones are a little tricky to work with. The head of the fish is fishier than the tail of the fish. I wasnt loving the fish, and it was a bit uncomfortable for me to eat like a chicken wing, but with chopsticks. The utensils were chopsticks and a long spoon, all of which were some kind of metal. I am familiar with using chopsticks, but these were too sleek and thin, and after breaking apart the greasy fish with my bare hands, it was even tougher to use the chopsticks; slipping and sliding through my fingers. Jenifa! offered to ask for a fork for me, but I forbid eating with non-traditional utensils at authentic places. According to Jenifa! this place is serving true Korean food. The regular spicy beef soondubu was delicious and the amount of spice was just right! Mine was more orange/red than Jenifa!s because she prefers less spicy. The primary ingredients are tofu, beef, egg (which you crack into it and mash around to let it cook), pepper flakes, and red pepper. The egg is cool and fun to do, but the dish it comes in is too light to crack it on. I didnt want to risk burning myself or getting any eggshell into my beef soondubu, so I attempted to crack the egg on the plastic bowl it comes in. Definitely need to hold the bowl with one hand as you crack your egg. Secondly, I disliked the fact that the egg managed to get all over my hands, and with concerns for salmonella or tainted hands for eating, there was nothing to clean up with. I used my napkin, but then I was napkinless until we were able to request some more. Any server or worker there can assist with whatever Qs you have, which is nice. It would be great if they could provide some sort of wipe along with the raw eggs, to keep the eating area and ones hands clean, just in case. The decor is simple and unique. They decorated an area with the dolsot bowls to create an almost-barrier between the dining area and the utilitarian areas (bathrooms/kitchen). I noticed on our way out that there was a downstairs area, but didnt see any signage as to whether it was additional seating or something else. The bathrooms are nicely designed and decent/well kept. Overall, everything was delicious and we probably ate more than we should have, but we skipped bfast for morning yoga prior to, so that evens it all out! :) Definitely go with friends so you can share the dishes! Happy eats!

First thing I liked about this place is they have a parking lot. So its convenient to drive to. We got there early Sunday evening (4:15pm) so I had no trouble parking. By the time we left (5:15pm) the place was getting packed already. The wait staff was nice. We were seated right away. Food came out fairly quickly. What I like about trying different Korean restaurants is they always have different banchan, little side dishes that they serve before your food arrives. Uniquely this place give you a small scrumptious golden crispy fried fish. Honestly it was the perfect sized appetizer. Also different was the child mashed potatoes with raisins. My wife doesnt like raisins but it did add a nice sweetness to the potatoes that we liked. Whats also nice is that they will refill your banchan if you finish it, minus the fish. The tofu soup comes in varying levels of heat(spiciness). Plain, mild, regular, hot, and Danger. I opted for the hot mixed soup which came with sliced beef, 2 clams, a mussel, and a shell on shrimp. Soup also comes with a raw egg, which you can dump into the soup, and a side of white rice. When is served it comes in a piping hot bowl, the soup is still sizzling. It also stays hot for a long time. The flavor is to notch. Perfect Korean comfort food. The bibimbap was also good but only if you use the spicy paste to flavor it. Without it, its pretty bland. So unfortunately, if you cant eat spicy food I wouldnt recommend it. This is going to be my new go to spot for tofu soup. The next cold day you may be seeing me here.

Soft tofu with your choice of spice level and a bit of you chosen meat. Foods overall are light and clean tasting; not heavy on the meat. Food: - Gu Jul Pan appetizer - cold dish; Various veggies wrapped in rice crepe; a bit on the blander side - Beef tofu soon tofu - Just a bit of scallion and some meat - Mix meat soo tofu - a clam, a mussel, a shrimp, and some bits of beef - Pajeon - Mostly scallion with only a few bits of octopus and shrimp - Dumplings - The thin skinned kind with I think pork and chives. Similar to homemade Chinese dumplings. Pretty good. Ban Chan: - Macaroni salad with egg and ham - Pickle slices - seem like regular american pickles, a bit on the light side of sour - Octopus in spice paste with radish - okay - Dried shrimp and peppers - the shrimp was tasty - Kimchi - good Also fried fish starter for every one. Very tasty. Burnt rice porridge towards the middle/end. Also tasty Ambiance: - fairly large place - quick service - there is a little play room for children

BCDtofuhouse located in Northern Blvd Flushing has a very long history. During the first snow in NY. I would like to get there. The restaurant looked small from outside. The parking lot is very limited, compared with the traffic volume This is my first experience here, so I ordered Kimchi rice cake as the appetizer , which is as soft as marshmallow. Very fresh taste. Then I had two tofu pot, one is seafood pot, the other is Korean curry pot. Bah I am not a fan of the curry pot. Classic tofu pot is great I guess. Then we had Korean-bbq pork, which was good but salty. I need to drink a lot of water. By the way, before the appetizer, they treated us with a great variety of sides. Typical kimchi, fried fresh-water fish and other vegetable pickle. Overall, this is a nice experience. I wont visit a second time.

BCD is a soondubu specialty restaurant. Soondubu is a traditional Korean soft tofu soup that has a fiery broth which infuses custardy tofu with deep flavors and spices such as Korean chile paste, also known as kochujang with fermented mixture of egg, rice, soybeans, and kimchi. This place is a good spot for family gatherings, or a special date with someone who possess extraordinary taste buds. There is a parking lot for customers as well as a childrens room inside. The only thing I would say is IF you are non-Korean, it would be best to come with a Korean friend. Some Koreans try to avert socializing with non-Koreans, not because of racism, but because they are afraid of speaking English or afraid of differences in culture that might create a misunderstanding. Other than this, a great place overall.
