I live in town, so we end up here periodically, the following are a list of impressions from the last couple of years. 1.) Their version of a Ceaser salad comes with tomatoes and mushrooms, but no croutons, no parm, and the dressing on the side. Avoid if you are looking for a classic Ceaser. I thought there had been some kind of mistake, but my waitress told me that "this is how we make it." House salad is a much better bet. 2.) Dont order anything with a pasta component. Ive never had a pasta dish there that I didnt regret. Chicken French in particular was soggy and disappointing. Anything with the Alfredo sauce should be steered clear of at all costs. 3.) I ordered the meatloaf and mashed potatoes dinner not too long ago. The meat loaf was so loaded with bell peppers that it was overwhelming, and the brown gravy was nasty and not homemade (not that they claimed that it was, just beware). 4.) Baked potato comes with a tablespoon of sour cream and some kind of whipped not-butter. 5.) Fries are the skinny, breaded kind. Not my cup of tea, but may be yours. 6.) Iced tea is from a machine, not fresh brewed, heads up to picky tea drinkers. 7.) These days I tend to order a grilled chicken sandwich and baked potato (no "butter", extra sour cream). Dont get the lemon pepper or Cajun version of the chicken sandwich. The lemon pepper is especially gross. 8.) The key to a good visit to the village house is to avoid dinner items (especially those with pasta) and stick to the lunch menu. The chicken souvlaki wrap is hit or miss, but generally pretty good.

I agree with Brandon on the service. Out of 10 visits you may have a bad one. But most of the time its reasonable. You may have to wait for coffee from time to time, but, usually youll be satisfied. Ive only had one visit where I actually got up and walked out without paying. The "man on duty" offered to make it right... but, I never send food back to be fixed or re-cooked at a restaraunt. Ive watched the movie "waiting"... if you know what I mean. It is what it is, and isnt what it isnt. Home cooking, not a steakhouse or a seafood house. Breakfast from $8-$15. Dinners from $10-$25. All tip included and out the door. Cleanliness is on par. Coffee is average. Desserts are average. Food is what youd expect at home from a average quality spouses kitchen talent. Good variety menus. Overall a pretty good choice, and recommended destination in the general area if youre looking for a place to eat. MacDonalds, BK, Subway, and a Timmys around the corner if you want to save a few pennies and time. For sitting down, this is the place to go.

I grew up in Albion and have been going here for years. However, I havent noticed any new additions to the menu and its been getting kind of old. Ive actually been trying to avoid the place because of it. Its now the only restaurant in the Albion area and I just wish the menu would be updated a bit. While the staff are very friendly and prompt they are a bit disinterested in you and it kind of kills the atmosphere. Sometimes youll get help thats incredible but most times youll just end up with someone who is just blank. I would recommend this restaurant but I wouldnt suggest making yourself a regular. Youll get tired of the menu very quickly. I still hold love for the place in my heart though. A lot of my childhood was spent there on breakfasts and lunches.

I have had some mixed emotions when it comes to the Village House. While it is a comfortable environment with a large menu, I find that the cooking tends to be hit or miss, on top of a variety of great, and terrible, tableside service. While I have had quite a few uneventful meals that tend to blend into each other, I have had some horror stories that tend to stand out. However, while the good does outweigh the bad, the bad really sticks with you. On a final note, to continue to be coy, as to not allow my bad experiences hog the entire review, I would say it is an important note that if you are not a recognized face, you are less of a customer, and more of an open wallet for them to pick at.

Been years since I stopped here. The last time was on a Sunday morning and I ordered the eggs benedict special and a blueberry muffin. The waitress asked if I would like my muffin heated. I answered no. It arrive straight from the refrigerator and was cold and damp. When I cut into the eggs I found that the yolks were cold. They had been made ahead of time and warmed in a micro wave. The crowded parking lot makes me wonder if the food has improved or its just the only option in town.

I grew up in Albion and every-so-often go back for a visit. The village house is one of the few restaurants in Albion without a drive-thru window. They do offer a wide variety of food for extremely low prices. However, most of their food is very greasy and processed. Surprisingly though, most of the seafood is actually decent. Pros: Inexpensive/Centrally located/Locally owned/Friendly Staff/diverse menu Cos: Greasy, processed food/un-original/sub-par quality

I think that this place has the best fish fry around!! The food is great and most of the staff very friendly. My family and I eat there often and do recommend it to friends! This is one of the only restaurants in Albion with awesome not processed food.We have enjoyed everything that we have had there. My husband prefers their queen cut prime rib over most o the steak houses and fancy restaurants that we have been to!!

This is the ONLY family sit down to eat place in Albion besides KFC, 1 Chinese restaurant, 2 fast food restaurants, and 1 place that Im not sure of (possibly Mexican food restaurant). So of course people are going to rate it higher than normal. His relative owns Uncle Dannys Restaurant in Rochester which, if I had to choose between them, I would choose.

Staff was wonderful! Food was great! The male owner is rude beyond belief and so arrogant and rude to customers and his staff! Due to this will not go there again! He may be the owner but he needs the course on customer service and showing respect to his employees!! WOW! (Thats all I can say!)
