My neighbors invited me to a tamale making and learning event at their home! It is kind of funny that I am invited to learn how to cook tamales when I dont cook, but I know we will be laughing and having a wonderful time. I wanted to bring something related to our Mexican dining experience and thought ending our meal with sweets from Lujan Bakery would be the perfect gift to bring! Lujan is family owned and speaking with the youngest member of their family today I understand that business is booming. If you are visiting New Mexico for the first time and have never enjoyed Mexico bakery sweets before be sure to add this to one of your stops.

Ive spent many happy days eating nothing but Lujans Pies! The fried pies are the best and can be found at a few stores around town if you dont have time to stop at their bakery.
