Terrible terrible terrible... My friend and I went to this restaurant with very high hopes as she had read great reviews. Firstly we walk in and the entire restaurant smelt like a dirty wash cloth. After debating to stay or go we decided to give it a chance. We brought two bottles of champaign with us to celebrate a new job, only planning on drinking one mind you. When we asked the waitress to open the bottle she did so, with a terrible attitude, and ended up exploding the bottle losing more than half the contents in it. We laughed it off and got about 1 Momosa each from the bottle. Our food came out and to be honest was bland. It wasnt awful but nothing to rave about at all. We then asked the waitress again to open up our second bottle seeing as she lost almost all of the fort bottle. She did so with out hesitation but again attitude. She took the bottle in the back and we heard a loud bang. Again losing more than half of our bottle, we did not blame her as clearly there was something wrong with the bottles we bought. We would not have been offended but for the fact that our waitress along with 3 other waitresses came storming over to our table asking us, very loudly, If we bought cheap champagne. If that is not embarrassing enough, in front of the entire restaurant, theres more! About two minutes after the interrogation of the cheap champagne a disheveled looking waitress comes over to us and pulls up a chair to take a seat. She then proceeds to say to us "I am going to talk to you like you girls are my daughters". she proceeds to ask us if we know where we are right now, trying to insinuate that we dont belong in Westfield. She then was interrogating us on how we were getting home and why were we even at the restaurant. Mind you at this point we had only had one mamosa each and were already finished with our mediocre food. She proceeded to ask if we agreed with her that we werent going to drink our next bottle. In an attempt to get her to go away we said we agreed and she went to wrap up the bottle since they had just opened it two minuites before her offensive talk. Once she came back with the bottle we asked her to get her manager and in a terrible tone told us "sure but she already knows everything and agrees with me." We then here her and her waitress friends saying that they are going to kick us out and making fun of us. The manager arrived to our table and was EXTREMELY apologetic. My friend asked her before anything else if there was a bottle limit, since its a BYOB, and she said absolutely not. When we explained what had just happened she was so embarrassed but it almost seemed as if this has happened before with this particular waitress. The manager comped our entire bill and said we could stay for as long as we want even tho they were closing in 5 minuites. She is the sole reason I am not being as harsh in this review as I originally intended to be. Although the manager was wonderful I would never suggest anyone going to this terrible restaurant. The waitresses are terrible and classless and if you are going to go anywhere maybe try to go to the Hoboken restaurant.

UPDATE: I left this review over a month ago and emailed the address below with the hopes of discussing my experience in depth with the business with the hope that they would work towards preventing this type of situation from continuing to recur. I never received an email back. Ive eaten here once, the food was good, and Ive tried to return, twice now. The last time I was unable to get seated, but I tried again today and got the same results. We were told the wait would be 20-25 minutes, which was fine. We were on a time constraint but that wait was not a problem. However, after 30 minutes (of which not a single other group around us got seated), I went back to the front to speak to one of the waitresses at the hostess area. She apologized for the wait but informed me that it would be at least another 15 minutes or so, which didnt work for us, and based on my history with their wait times, who knows how accurate that would be. I tried to start explaining our situation and that we had a time constraint and she still said there was nothing she could do for us. I shot a comment about the fact that this is the second time Ive had an experience like this and she proceeded to say that she was sorry but they had to send their hostess home because she was throwing up all morning. As if I wasnt ready to leave already, the tone she took with me combined with the thought of a member of the staff throwing up multiple times was more than enough. Funny thing, we went to another local spot (and were seated immediately), but then noticed that the majority of that crowd seated around us were people wed already seen at Turning Point. Bottom line, they need to figure out how to give accurate wait times and maybe even push some people along who are dwelling. Safe to say next time Ill safe myself the aggravation and the wait times and go somewhere else.

This place has been on my "To Try" list for sometime and Im just getting around to it. Arrived about 1pm to a 40-45 minute wait. Ehhh...happy about that, no but it was kinda expected. The first table we-party of 3--were seated at was in the little room, right against the wall with the waitstaff area right next to it. Now, for some people this isnt an issue and isnt a reflection of the restaurant exactly but "nobody puts Baby in a corner" LOL I ordered the POPEYE SKILLET with poached eggs and hollandaise sauce instead of sour cream. OMG....phenomenal! I loved it! Didnt even eat or need the english muffin, for me they could add more potatoes and mushroom and keep the english muffin. Also, I asked for my poached egg to be well done on the whites but still runny. This seems to be a skill that most kitchen staff do not posses but they got it RIGHT! Ooohh and to drink ICED VANILLA CHAI....YUMMM! I also tasted the GRAND FRENCH french toast from my fathers order and it was still pretty delicious (no longer hot because it was the end of the meal). And the side of bacon, although it could have been a less pricey was said to be tasty and lean. My mother had the PAVO CUBANO which came with chips and salsa and she said the salsa was very good. Now...my complaints why I didnt rate this loved it. 1-I have no idea why restaurants are OBSESSED with putting these dirty lemons in water but it grosses me out! 2- The water glass was dirty, normally I ask for another but I opted not to as to try to set a more positive tone. 3-The reviews re: tables being less than clean and time taken to get them clean when there is a wait appeared to be accurate 4-Ive had better waitresses but she was ok, I didnt mind tipping on the high end. 5- Not really appreciative of having to pay for a refill on the iced chai but it was good. I will try it again.
