Im a huge fan of the Taphouse despite only going once. They may not have the sheer numbers of beers on tap like the Shep, but they hit the bigger ones that you would probably want anyway. Their food selection is also, in my opinion, wider, and just as good. I feel like the overall experience is also more ties together, as there is less disparity between the bar and restaurant. Their food tends to be more on the upscale, smaller portion side, but is executed so well, this is not a criticism. The short rib tacos we had were incredible. Small, but packed full of flavor. Their craft beer selection is probably the main reason to visit. They have a good number of craft beers on tap, including a great range from across the US and a good selection from Belgium and Germany. I was really impressed with their list as it included smaller breweries we saw in VT and hadnt been able to find elsewhere in the area. Well definitely be back!

Well, reading the other posts I must have really lucked out...Me, my wife and 3 children had a great experience thanks to Groupon so I have no opinion on pricing ;o). The food was great...Wife had FishNChips, I had some killer penne chicken sausage hot spicy thing. Kids had a couple of Pizzas (1 reg, 1 Hawaiin) that were good Pizzas, I was very suprised to taste good Pizza in a place that didnt have "Pizza" in the name. Besides our friendly and tentative waitress a gentlman came around twice asking if everything was ok. I went on a Tuesday so as to avoid the dumb mandatory Friday night Valet parking. Great place I certainly will return. P.S. almost forgot...the beer, a fine selection of tap beers. Both My Wife and I brew our own so we both found ourselves pleased with selection of local beer on tap and others.

As other users have mentioned, stick to happy hour for your drinks. Prices are high for this location. I had a pumpkin ale in a tiny glass for $8. My wife had rigatoni with bolognese sauce, which was pretty good. I had a Smokehouse burger that I requested well done; well done is not charred crispy on the outside. Fries were hard to chew like undercooked roasted potatoes. Server asked how it was and when I replied "Not good," she couldnt be bothered to find out why. Why did you ask then? Maybe Ill come back for just drinks but with better prices at other local bars, it is unlikely. Other thoughts; valet parking is a little silly at a dressed up pub like this one. Taphouse Grille aspires to be something greater than it actually is.

Update on 4/13: During happy hour this place is really nice as beers are down to $4 each and apps are 1/2 off. However outside of it, its very expensive to have drinks. At $6-$7 for a beer, some of which you only get 10-12oz, its too expensive for casual drinks/dining. It is OK if you go there for an occassion, but I wouldnt go there on a Sunday to watch a game at the bar. The food was tasty and qualty seems nice. Service has been good at the bar. Considering its location, I really think they need to bring down the prices a bit on their beer. The place could do so much more business, which you can tell, because during HH there are a decent amount of people, but once HH ends, there arent many patrons in the place.

My first experience "Was Fabulous", skirt steak was juicy and tender. So I raved about it to my sister, about the skirt steak. Even though my friend chocked on a bone. I decided to stay optimistic. Tonight was a quite the disappoint. Steak was over cooked , dry (asked for medium). It was just not edible nor were the potatoes that were gray on the inside. The carrots were burned. This Ambiance and location were great, its unforunete. We told the waitress, but she didnt seem to care. She went on about her business and conversed with her coworkers. I guess going Taphousegrille is like opening up a box of chocolates you never know what youre going to get. Good luck

Wow just wow!!!!! I came on a Tuesday night and I was greeted by a very friendly hostess and she was very helpful. I waited at the Bar and the bartender was very cordial, professional and new her beers very well, I learned a lot about different beers, I think her name was Jen, exceptional service. The food was delicious that I ordered. The turkey chili was perfect, Cesar salad was great and I added grilled chicken. After the chili and salad I was still full so I ordered the Pork chop, the presentation I give it 10 stars, prepared to perfection. This place is a must go, Im bringing my family next time.

I went there Friday night and Sat in the dining room. Greeted very promptly. The beer selection is great. A lot of different choices while our server was very informative on the beer when we asked a couple questions. The food was amazing. We ordered the Fritto Misto and scallops for appetizers and they were fresh and so tasty. For dinner, I ordered the shellfish stew while my friend ordered the tagliatelle. Both were very delicious. Would definitely recommend to stop by for a good time

Great food, great service and wonderful atmousphere. Had short rib tacos, nachos and french onion soup appetizer, seafood entre, burger entre, crabcake entre and I forgot the fourth....a pasta dish for dinner. Hannah our Server was bubbly, smiling and fantastic. Everything came out in an orderly manner...a short timr between courses, hot and delicious. Anyone who goes will enjoy and be back for more. Great place.

I tend to sit at the bar for hours and order tons of drinks and pounds of food with my friends. They always have the best beer options in Wayne, NJ. Your only other option is to go to Shepherd in Haledon for beers this good, but you will probably get annoyed by the kids and the Haledon PD as you drive back to your amazing house in Wayne.

Rude staff. We had a party of 20 and were treated rudely and had two managers come to the table before we even ordered to let us know, in a forceful way, that they only accept 4 credit cards per table and they would not breakdown the checks. Very rude and unwelcoming and treated us they were doing us a favor

The dining area is open and airy with large windows along one side. While the view is urban (parking lot) it opens up the space. There is also a bar area. The best thing about the Taphouse Grill is the beer menu: its a well thought-out list that will appeal to any beer connoisseur.

We sat at the bar, the bartender was not customer friendly. Made a face at me when I didnt know what I wanted yet. Then we were basically kicked out because they had to close...at 10:30?? A big part of business is customer service. The employees didnt even smile

If you enjoy craft beer, this place is great! Food and atmosphere are worth the visit. Gave 4 stars because I dont feel this is the kind of place that should require valet parking during dinner. Regardless, if you havent tried it, you should!

Have been to Taphouse twice and each time was amazing. Great beer selection and every food item came out better than expected. I crave their roasted broccoli salad & French onion soup. Cant wait to try brunch!
