(Please, do not disregard this review. I really did try to like this place. I was excited for it to open last year.) My first experience at the Revolutionary Lounge was idiot proof. I had ordered a simple cup of black coffee. It was hot and in a cup. I kind of dug the atmosphere and decided to go back with my girlfriend a few months later to take a bite into their vegetarian menu. When we arrived on a snowy Saturday afternoon, we planned on getting soup. Unfortunately, they had offered no vegetarian options. We had asked if there were any specials, the cashier, responsible for taking our orders had no clue. She simply pointed to their black board which had basically repeated menu items. When I had asked her what she recommended for a vegetarian, she looked like a deer in the headlights. After looking at the menu, she suggested the anarchy burger. We grabbed a few menus and had placed orders for their BBQ Tempeh Sandwich and the Anarchy Burger/Black Bean Burger. While we waited for our food to cook, we sat back at the bar and watched the cars pass by with a soundtrack straight from itunes commercials. My undercooked, over-sauced, poorly distributed bbq tempeh sandwich which came on a fat white sub roll. The pita triangles that came as a side (WTF?!) were basically a joke considering my sandwich was made of mostly bread. Ten minutes later, my girlfriends Anarchy Burger came out. The taste and presentation was descent, however, the burger seemed like it came out of a blender, formed into a patty and placed on a bun to be consumed. With a theme of revolution and breaking the status quo, the Revolutionary Lounge falls short of my expectations and will most definitely not be getting my business again. Being the only two people in the restaurant, we felt that the staff was careless to our business. It showed in their attitudes and food. Id rather go to surf taco across the street if I wanted over priced beans and crappy service. Overall, I feel like this place has the right idea and we need to have a lounge that follows what this place advertises. As from what I saw, theyre just a poseur trying to be stand out. Its basically the Hot Topic of "Health Food" restaurants.

With how fun and modern the whole setup is, I expected more of an inviting experience, with friendly staff. I walked in, there were 4 people behind the counter and none of them welcomed me. No one even made themselves presentable enough to ask any questions or even to take my order. Which, the only person I know thats ever been there mentioned how the staff isnt friendly.... I also think its strange they consider the cafe to be a "lounge" when they close at 5pm 6 days a week (except friday). In my opinion, closing before people get out of work seems silly. Theyre very much against "cooperate coffee" places (and reasonably so) but then they should actually give the cooperate coffee shops (who open at 5 or 6am, not 9 or 10am and stay open until 10pm).competition. BUT they sell local honey, which I LOVE and the Egyptian chai was amazing. So Ill be back, but probably just on my days off seeing as though they are only open 9-5 which is normal business hours for most other companies. and i probably wont be lounging there seeing as though the staff doesnt make the place too inviting. shame. Great concept but lacking execution.

Im a big fan of this place. The chai tea is great and the veg/vegan food is priced very well considering some places will try to double the prices they asked for. My favorite dish is the lemon garlic tofu stir fry with veggies and jasmine rice. The chef there is fantastic and for $8 bucks how could I complain? They also make a great chai tea. The staff is also pretty friendly and seem to really be into the job they do. Ive been here multiple times and havent had a bad time yet. If you want a relaxing coffee shop with good food, great teas and coffees for decent pricing, Id recommend here.

This is the finest coffee shop I have ever visited. Honestly. Its all a matter of taste of course but I am very picky with food and a vegetarian and they accommodate beautifully with multiple options that are actually appealing. Staff is always friendly and familiar. The only reason Im giving it 4 instead of 5 stars, is because they have changed their hours to essentially March bankers hours aside from Friday evenings. This essentially makes the establishment non-vaccinating for me, as I work a full time job. I do not understand how a coffeeshop opens at 9am and closes at 5pm.

This is an awesome place. An absolute must visit in Toms River. The menu is exciting with new style Foods. An absolute must visit in Toms River. Toms River has a lot of old school kind of stuff thats pretty tired and played out. This place has vegan and vegetarian options Galore. Gourmet stuff , not like lame stuff. They also have sweets treats and pastries that are absolutely out of sight. I mean off-the-charts good. Most of them are vegan-friendly. Great coffee and tea options. great atmosphere. Lots of art on the walls around the entire Cafe. Has great chill local vibe.

Never disappointed when I visit this beautiful business. The owners passion for clean, healthy and inspirational goods are shown in her specials and carefully crafted cuisine. I come here to eat about twice a week on my lunch break to re-fuel and re-caffeinate, and almost always have something different. In fact, Im munching on a Teriyaki tempeh mango wrap as we speak that would put a smile on an old sailors face, as it has inspired me to finally review this cafe, and give them some long overdue credit. Come see for yourself!

Came here hoping for a good espresso, ordered a double. I could see that they had a decent looking espresso machine. What I got did not resemble espresso. There was a lot more of it than there should have been and it was incredibly watery. There was absolutely no crema whatsoever and it tasted much more like plain regular coffee than espresso. I drove 20 minutes to come here and I was hugely disappointed. I would never go back.

This is my favorite place to eat EVER... and I lived in Philly for most of my life. The food is superb, the service is unbelievable (seriously, everyones hilarious and friendly and attentive), and the coffee is a gift from God. My boyfriend and I went on our first date here, spent 6 hours at the table out front talking and drinking, and we still go there at least once a month. The Rev is absolutely a fine establishment. (:

This coffee shop takes their craft to a new level, one you just dont get at the "corporate" coffee chains. The coffee itself is bold and rich, and the various flavored offerings are as original as their namesakes. It has become a favorite spot of mine and I love having an amazing drink as I sit and get some work done on my laptop. I can NOT recommend this place enough!

Really enjoyed my visit here the food was grand and the portions matched the service was friendly and prompt. The environment was in a good way what is to be expected in a locally owned coffee shop I really liked all the local artists display on the walls and the tables were great conversation starters. Very happy with my visit.
