Best breakfast place in Red Bank, to be sure. We avoided the Inbetween for awhile because A) theres always a wait & B) we were worried about the whole sitting-with-other-people thing. Luckily, they have a few two-person tables, & we snagged one of those one a lazy weekday morning. Weve since been back a few times, & every time has been just as good. I love any place with handwritten specials inserted into the menus, & Inbetween provides. The places is always decorated in accordance with the nearest upcoming holiday, which is fun, & sometimes the specials are related, too. The first time there, for example, just before Halloween I tried pumpkin bread French toast; now I can probably never return to normal French toast again. The service is iffy. Sometimes youll get a really friendly server but a really crotchety busser, or vice versa, but for the most part, they get it done. Weve always been served in a timely fashion, never had any issues with delays or substitutions. In fact, I usually make up some breakfast sandwich thats not on the menu, & theyre always accommodating. The only downside to the Inbetween, Id say, is the fact that you might have to sit with strangers, which I dont dig at all. We havent had to do it yet, but it might deter me, if we did. Still, the food is good enough & the experience peasant enough that its worth a go, especially if you can get in on a weekday when theyre slow enough that you wont need to share your space with folks you dont know.

I was first introduced to the Inbetween Cafe a few weeks ago. Great food for an affordable price. We were introduced and served in a professional manner with a warm welcome and great service. However, today was absolutely different. I went there twice in one day, one with a friend and the other with clients. Although our server was nice, the service itself was absolutely slow. We waited for a long while to have someone write us a check...which was fine since the place was moderately busy. But as we got our check after ten minutes of waiting, the chef asked us to leave because he needed the table we were sitting at. There were only three of us and there were plenty of seats in the cafe. I kindly told the gentleman that we just got our check. He replied it doesnt matter. Its not like we were loitering around....we ordered a good deal of food. I work in the catering industry part time and I would never in a million years ask someone to leave a eating establishment like the way we were approached. Bottom line, good food can still leave a bad taste in your mouth if the service and common courtesy isnt up to par. Its a shame that I will not be back.

weve been loyal customers of the inbetween cafe for 4 years since we moved into town. looking at one of the other reviews, i realize the owner is an awful person. the food is fine, but dont dare coming if you have a family with babies or young children. our 16 month old son cried a couple of times, and the owner came out of the kitchen to rudely tell us to silence our son or leave. after we immediately packed up our stuff to leave, i requested to speak with the owner. after making we wait 15 minutes, and after asking several of the staff members, he finally invited me into the kitchen. i calmly asked him if they dont welcome families here. he said not for kids who cry. so i asked him if he doesnt want us to return then? he said, "in fact, no, now please leave my kitchen, you are trespassing." i have never in my life been treated as such. we will indeed not be returning, and if you have children, please do not come here.

My friends came up to see Red Bank for the first time so we went to Rook Coffee around the corner and decided to get breakfast. We came in and were told we could not have outside food or drink, which I understand but then we also couldnt pay by credit card and they forgot to place our order to go with the cook so we stood outside, finished with our coffee, and not wanting to skip out on our overdue order, which they NEVER MADE. I was embarrassed that my friends had a bad experience in such a great town.

The women who served us was super rude, at the end when we had to pay they dident accept any credit card, I carry little cash on me so I was $3 short. When I asked to go out to the car she stood in front of my way not letting me get to my car which was 100 feet away from the restaurant I was super embarrassed will never go back again!!!!!

Have been coming here for 45+ years. Great breakfast and lunch spot - one of a handful of decent restaurants in Red Bank. Check out the specials, such as Hot Pot Roast, Sauerbraten, Omelets. Great Pork Roll with egg and cheese breakfast sandwhich. Scott

I go here every weekend for breakfast. I get an omellete and my boyfriend gets one of the weekly specials. The food is always fresh and so good. Hot chocolate is delicious. Home fries are crispy and not to be missed.

Experience was OK. Service is friendly, and they are cash or local check only. Coffee was good, the andouille saucage was really good. Farm omelette wasnt our favorite. All around an alright breakfast choice in Red Bank.

I used to be loyal to the Broadway diner in Red Bank and have to settle for something new now because they closed down. This place is pretty decent. You have to try their maple bacon, mmmm!

Great food, imaginative menu, nice family-style ambiance, very reasonable prices. Like them on Facebook and youll see the fascinating (for foodies) handwritten specials menu each week.

Was given a 20 minute wait time for a to go $10 breakfast sandwich. Ended up waiting 45 minutes!! Worst service for a basic breakfast spot and the wrap I ordered was bland and soggy

Incredible Place. Like Gourmet Diner food. Dont miss the seasonal Fresh Corn Crepes, and the french toast and sweet crepe specials! Breakfast and Lunch Only.

Best kept secret in Red Bank for local fare. Make sure you feed the meter though, the meter folks are ruthless. And dont forget your Ca$h, no credit cards.

Closed Tuesdays, always nice when restaurants pick an arbitrary day to close, was fun driving there, be careful they might be closed Wednesdays next time.

Great food. Good service. Friendly workers. Pleasant place to eat. Clean. Reasonably priced. Definitely a place you would go out of your way for.

Delicious brunch spot. Slight wait for food since there is only one cook in the kitchen. Well worth the wait. Home fries are crunchy and on point!
