I love "mom and pop" shops. I walked in and wasnt greeted at all...and I was literally the only person in there. The owner even looked at me, not with a smile I might add, and went into the back room. The two front desk girls werent rude when I checked out, but nothing that blew my hair back. I just moved to Manahawkin, and Ihad never been there before. For a small town store, I was expecting to walk in and meet nice warm people. I recieved the exact oppostie. Instead of ordering several items like I planned, I tried one thing and left. It was good. Overall, I was really disappointed, but this has been a common theme in Manahawkin thus far.

Good quality items but they dont open until 9am, at least in the off-season. What about the local customer who wants to grab a cup of coffee and a danish for the morning ride? Or some fresh pastries for brunch? The morning is half over at 9. Disappointed and have switched over to Moesters bakery because their hours are more like the old fashioned bakeries I remember as a kid!

Some of my friends were raving about the Big Apple Bakery so I decided to try it. Went there and it was everything that I thought it would be. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. I absolutely loved the apple turnovers, peach crumb pie, and chocolate cake. I definitely will be back many many times.

Visited this bakery over the Memorial Day weekend, so much to choose from. Everything looked so delicious I couldnt make up my mind. I went with the walnut danish, cheesecake and a dozen pastries. All my quests raved. Guess I will be back agin this weekend.

The Big Apple Bakery made my wedding cake and I couldnt have been more pleased. We added some trays of their delicious cookies and pastries for our dessert bars. Brides look no further!
