Theres a lot to like. In general the food is better than it was as the Broadway Diner. Toast is breakfast and lunch only; closes at 3. Ingredients tend to be fresh. Menu is more focused, less selection than typical diners, which helps improve quality. Service is usually good to excellent; occasional new business glitches. Management is normally very attentive and helpful; checks tables. I could see upgrading my overall rating to five stars at some point. The food: favorites are the onion soup ($5), chili ($6:50), California scramble ($11), Traditional Cabb salad ($10), Greek Salad ($10), buttermilk pancakes ($8, $6 for a short stack), the BLT ($9). Smoked salmon eggs Benedict ($12). If your a salad and seafood person; one stand out item is the fresh blackened tuna salad; really nice combo of flavors with a excellent dressing ($15). The fresh made corned beef is excellent (sometime not served hot enough) Fan of their coffee ($2.50), seems to have improved since their opening. Love the carrot cake pancakes. Note; their bread supplier is excellent. Yes, the toast is great at Toast. Disappointments are; Mediterranean Wrap ($10) not enough hummus; dry as a bone; to my surprise, the "homemade" veggie burger ($11) is a bore, bland, bready texture. Yes, there is such a thing as excellent veggie burgers. (Yikes the frozen Costco veggie burgers I make at home are far better). Mexican salad is just ok ($12). Amazing job on completely gutting and redoing the old Broadway Diner. They are clearly working on a few details on the outside, but my hat is off the the owner for keeping the character of the Red Bank icon and improving its facilities: thank you. Expanded counter. Much better bathrooms. Looks great. Keeping the big panoramic windows. Tasteful choices and keeping the tile fish wall design, that I am guessing is original 1948. One quibble; place can be loud acoustically. Thumbs up for not having a TV hanging above the counter. Bottom line; fun to be here. What I miss about the Broadway diner? Lower prices; but they were the best bargain in Monmouth County in my view. The excellent veteran service team. The management at Toast seems to prefer a younger, hipster staff. I miss having a 24 hour diner, I see a lot people still walking up to the doors at night looking for the diner. But only having 2 single-seat restrooms I do not miss. I prefer this site to the Asbury Park Toast location; where I have had some terrible service experiences (I avoid posting poor reviews). The food is the same. Congratulations to the Toast team for such a successful opening. The Resturant business is hard and unforgiving. I will be a regular.

The food was really delicious, and theyve done a lot of work on the building for the renovation. The prices are a little high, but tolerable. The service left a lot to be desired. The waitstaff are all wonderful eyecandy, straight out of a hipster fashion magazine, but I wonder about their experience. When my party had finished eating, our server was nowhere to be found and we waited for 15 minutes until another server saw that we were clearly done and needed the check. When HE took our plates, he asked if I wanted a box for mine, I said yes, and then we never saw him again either after waiting for another 10 minutes. Their posted warning in several places about a 2.5% convenience fee for using credit cards also left a sour taste in my mouth.

Food is consistently fresh and delicious. I have been here 3 times so far. I love the variety of specialty omelets. The staff is very young and are still learning. They sometimes forget the little details,(like refilling drinks or getting those napkins you asked for.) They are all friendly and the food takes an average amount of time to get to the table. They are good about making sure customers get seated right away. The price is what you would expect from a trendy little breakfast joint in Red Bank. We average $30 -$50 bills - thats for 2 adults and 2 children. Bathrooms are extremely clean, There are sparkles on the floor... part of the tiling, its very cute. The only downside is parkingg. because: Red Bank

Service was ok, food unimpressive. Price was rediculous for portion size and quality. $5 for a large orange juice (mason jar size/ not fresh squeezed); $4 for a cup of strawberries (cup was size of what a side of butter or syrup would be served in)!! Total of $30 bill for 2 scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, coffee, insanely small side of strawberries and one juice. This is my second time here...only reason i came back was hoping it would be better than the first. Will not go back, not worth the money!!!

Bring back the Broadway Diner...the "New" Toast has managed to raise prices higher than any other breakfast/ lunch place in the area, while cutting the number of offerings and lowering the quality of the food. We are there for the first(and last) time this week... Rubbery spinach & feta omelette tasted as if it had been microwaved and the special..chicken, avacado & cheese was only a little tastier than grilled cardboard. all for $35..ugh. Service and coffee were very good!

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Toast was now in Red Bank, as their Montclair location is always a delight. Great menu and a friendly staff. Red Bank Toasts decor is fitting for a shore stop-in as well... good vibe. Their grilled cheese with mushrooms on multigrain was excellent, as well as their cheesesteak(opted for a wrap instead of a roll). Sweet potato fries are standard sides and cooked perfectly. Great place to eat!

Great, friendly waitstaff. Bright, open, airy decor with outdoor dining available. Jukeboxes at the booths, a long wrap around counter at this modern diner. The cubano was ok. The crabcake benedict was great with the slight lemony sauce. Deelish milkshakes. No wine, bubbly or beer though, but I think I saw other folks that brought their own bubbly. Fun menu.

The old Red Bank Diner. Many of us sobered up there after the bars closed, back in the good old days. A familiar spot to enjoy a good breakfast. Friendly weight staff. Gets busy on the weekends for breakfast, go before 9 if you want to avoid the crowd.

Look at third posting!! Obviously written by someone who works there. And, what an idiot for making it look so obvious! Would a customer ever describe a place as being historic? What a joke.

Food was great, everything else was not. The servers were nice enough, but were either all new or just poorly managed. Turning Point is better, or the Toast in Asbury Park.

Food and atmosphere were both great! Prices were a little higher than Id like but pretty average for Red Bank. The red white and blue pancake special was delicious!
