I happened upon this place years ago one Super Bowl Sunday when nothing else was opened, and having forgotten the name and being unfamiliar with Princeton as I was, I mourned the fact that Id never find it again. But still, I dreamed of the meal I had. -- Its not every meal that you can crave after having had it once. Admittedly, my expectations were low upon entering the establishment. After all, how often have I been let down by foods with the word "mango" in the title? When my sweet and spicy mango tofu was placed in front of me, I was delighted: there appeared to be /real/ chunks of mango in my meal! Surely, it was too good to be true, I thought. There are so many ways mango can be done so, so wrong. But sure enough, I popped a morsel of mango into my mouth, and I melted. I tried some of the tofu and -- however the heck they made it-- it was out of this world. For such a hole-in-the-wall kinda place (as far as holes and walls go in Princeton), I had a phenomenal experience. Now that Ive been reunited with Hunan, I can leave it the review it deserves. The people that run the place are cute, the fact that it has parking in the back is nice, the food is way affordable, and everything is tasty as heck. And everyone I have taken here has only justified the high regard I have for Hunan. It has yet to disappoint. Anyone with taste buds will enjoy this place.

I came in looking for a culinary adventure and I was not disappointed. I ordered the pork, chicken and shrimp dish (trying something new) but my server saw into my heart and brought a seafood platter to my surprise and delight! The Hunan sauce was spicy and delicious and paired perfectly with my diet Coke. Then we discovered we could only pay in cash! I fully support cash only transactions (a business policy I have with my associates as well.) 3/5 will pay cash to be surprised again.

Best Chinese food for the price in Princeton. Shanghai Park over in the Princeton shopping center is better, and more traditional Chinese food, but it is much more expensive. Hunan has a malay influence I think. I routinely get dinner for about 12 dollars, and it is a ton of food. Lunch averages about 8. Get the Chili Crispy Fish - best dish in the house-, any Fried Rice, Schezuan Beef, General Tsos Tofu, Eggplant and Bean Curd in Special Sauce, Hot and sour soup.

I come from NC. This restaurant is really nice. The price is cheap (cheaper than where I live even this is in NJ). The food here is delicious. If you like spicy, spicy fish is what I recommend. I had them twice so far, really love it. if you do not like spicy, just let the boss know, she has good suggestion for you. I have to say the service is quite good as well. Then, what you still want to know? come and taste it by yourself.

Ive lived in the Princeton area for a long time and Ive eaten at many different restaurants. Although I can afford to eat at the expensive places, Hunan Chinese restaurant on Witherspoon is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is delicious, its incredibly inexpensive, and the people are always courteous. Also theres never a crowd. Highly recommended !

THIS IS NOT AUTHENTIC CHINESE, but a normal Americanized Chinese restaurant. I expected more as I read another review complimenting it as the only good authentic Chinese restaurant around Princeton, but the reality shows completely opposite. They even serve peanuts instead if cashew in cashew chicken. I didnt rate it one star only because of its really cheap price.

Ny first time ordering a delivery of food from this restaurant and I was pleased on all accounts. Fast delivery, Great food. The best white rice (I could make a meal just of the perfectly cooked rice). And the vegetable fried rice had real chunks of veggies - even brocalli florets. It was delicious and I highly recommend it.

Menu on google maps is not the one used at the store; we called to order crab rangoons and they said, "we dont have those." Restaurant takes cash only. Woman on phone was difficult to understand. Food didnt match order (possibly because of menu confusion), but was tasty. Short wait (15 min) after ordering.

This is the only Chinese restaurant in Princeton that I will go to. Its not Chinese fine dining, not by a long shot, but it is authentic Chinese home cooking. The staff are very nice ands always willing to accommodate when I ask if they can make a vegetarian version of some dish. Definitely recommended.

Pyszne jedzenie, bardzo duże porcje i niewysokie ceny. Zamówiłem wołowinę w sezamie - dawno nie jadłem tak dobrej potrawy.

Good food. Service was ok. People came after us ordered ate and left before us. Theyre speaking same language maybe thats why got special attention. She kept saying take ur time even when told were ready. Cash only which is very inconvenient. Will not be back.

Pros: Great for hosting large groups. Cons: Far away (cant blame em), food is nothing to write home about. Conclusion: A solid option if you need to take a large amount of hungry college students somewhere.

For about $4.25, you can take out an oversize portion of delicious, cooked-while-you-wait food. For about $1 more, the seated restaurant offers a wider lunch menu that includes soup or spring rolls.

Of all the Chinese food restaurants in Princeton, Hunan has the best tasting food, the lowest prices, and the most friendly staff. Youre crazy to go anywhere else. Well worth the walk from Nassau.

Another hidden Gem in Princeton, reasonably priced Asian cusine. They offer some Malaysian and Vietnamese specialties. Kitchen is clean and up front so you know what your getting. Very good.

They dont spend money hiring professional waiters and waitresses. Food is mediocre, much worse than other Chinese restaurants in the area such as Hot Wok Cafe and Shanghai Bun.

Great, straightforward, and very reasonable Chinese food. And its so rare to find places that serve truly vegetarian Chinese dishes, especially hot and sour soup!
