Falling into the category of the American Were trying way too hard to be an irish bar! Bar that can be found pretty much everywhere in New York and New Jersey there are no surprises to be found at the Poitin Still. The mix drinks were not great so stick to the taps, which thankfully have a good variety of national and micro brews and usually at least one cider for the folks who cannot drink beer. Food is okay, sticking to the burgers and fries wont do you wrong, the tomato and mozz salad is worth noting if only because its portions are meant for a brontosaurus. Dont expect to get anything you order rare to come out anything less than medium though. Service is spotty, some of the bartenders are quick, and the rest will ignore you to chat with whatever is female and standing around. ALso be warned, this place has installed a gratuitous 360 panorama of flat screens so you can always be distracted at the bar by whatever sports (usually Soccer, Football or Baseball but there have been times when Rugby has been on) are currently having a tournament. This is NOT a quiet spot to have a drink, but if you want to watch a game with friends over beer it will suit you well.

The Poitin Still is an absolute nightmare. I went there twice and both times it was PACKED. I mean absolutely packed in there. They let way to many people in there it was definitely a fire hazard. I was barely able to walk through the place. The music was way too loud and I could not hear myself think or even talk to another person. I have no idea how anyone enjoys that place. The crowd was also young, I mean really young. It took me almost 10 minutes to get a beer and when I did, it was warm and in a plastic cup. It feels like a huge frat house.

The worst. Overpriced. Rude,slow and snobby staff who judge u before they meet u. Locals get served before u always no matter how long u been waiting. Can't forget about the weakest drinks ever. If u want to have a horrible time and end up broke and sober at end of night. This is the place for u. Oh yeah don't bother driving unless u want a dwi. They follow u as soon as u leave. On the bright side u might not get dwi cause u will be SOBER

Despite what some may think this place is the perfect spot to go to for Football on Sundays and Mondays. They have special deals on some really great food and pitchers of beer so you can easily spend anywhere from 3 to 5 hours watching sports and not spend a fortune.

Hit or miss if youre going there for a live joint. Great place on the weekends, holidays, and sporting events. They also have a dance floor and a dj or live music on occasion. Not out of the ordinary to do lunch or brunch. A little pricey but well worth it.

Bad Services period. The bartender behind the bar at Sat.night sucks! The dude is lucky he works off tips because in any other industry he wouldnt get any where. Dont waste your time with this place. IT SUCKS AND SO DOES THE SERVICE!
