I wanted a Red Velvet cake for a surprise birthday party. I had no idea how difficult a chore it would be. I called Cravings and found that they were closed for the week. So I called The Macaroon Shop, they told me they make Red Velvet cupcakes, but not cakes (I still don’t understand this). I then called Confections Of A Rock$tar and thought I hit pay dirt, until the baker got on the line and told me they don’t do cream cheese frosting on the outside of the cake, it would have to be whipped cream. What? How do they make Carrot Cakes? So…. I called J & M (should have called them first!) my order was no problem. I got ¼ sheet, Red Velvet with cream cheese frosting on the outside & as the filling. WHAT A HIT! Good thing I got ¼ sheet, everyone wanted seconds! Moist delicious! I had one last year from The Cake Boss – Hoboken and let me tell ya, this one was much, much better. J & M is my new “go to” bakery. I am recommending this place to all my friends

Good bakery. There desserts are good and the staff is friendly. I went there once with my husband when I was maybe nine months pregnant, I must have mentioned something about the blueberry scones and the owner handed me one for free as we were walking out the door. Nice man. By the way the blueberry scones are delicious!!!!!

After moving from Brooklyn in the early 80s I thought I would never find a good bakery in N.J. J&M is as good, if not better, than the bakeries I remember growing up. On top of that, the staff is wonderful; old-world style that is hard to find these days.

This place is great! They made my daughters 1st birthday cake and it came out super cute! My guests raved about how great and delicious it was. Their assortment of Italian cookies were also super delicious. Ill definitely be using J & M Bakery in the future!
