This used to be my all-time favorite place -quite openly since the ownership has changed the friendliness has gone down and they are out of everything early morning. Their vanilla coffee made with fresh vanilla beans was one of my favorite this is also now gone - very disappointed:(

We were told we needed a weeks notice to place our wedding order but they didnt take advanced orders. When we tried to book a month in advance, they were extremely rude and told us they were booked up - having taken orders from other people. Do not trust them.

The lemon blueberry scone. Have one. Just trust me. Also - they make the very best homemade macaroni and cheese Ive ever had. Ever. Get there early though; the best pastries are gone by 9 or 10am usually. They are also very friendly! Always a pleasure.

Wrapped cookies are expensive but very good. Didnt care for the general attitude of the place. When I asked if they sell coffee ring the women at the counter seemed insulted. Its sit down Soho pastry operating as counter service in Atlantic Highlands.

The pastries are still wonderful, but ever since there has been a change in ownership the prices have gone up and the friendly-ness has gone down. I love the Flaky Tart and go there frequently so its not a waste but they arent overly friendly.

This bakery is exquisite. Get there early for a better selection since the goods disappear quickly!! Get the monkey muffin, ham and cheese croissant, or the Boston cream brioche to experience what decadent pastry is.

If you shop anywhere else for pastries you are being misled. Thats all I gotta say about that. Also a great breakfast place if you get there in time for the frittatas. And the coffee is fresh roasted locally.

My wife and I spend a good deal of time in France each year, and we can assure you that the Flaky Tart rivals and often exceeds the very best Patisseries that Paris has to offer. Nuff said.
