Not going back... Had our second annual family Thanksgiving dinner there, with 15 family members. I enjoyed the food and service last year, but this year, absolutely horrible. I believe the quality of the food has dropped, and the service was just "ok", considering the prices they charge. In my case, I ordered an end cut Prime Rib. I asked for it to be WELL DONE. When they brought it out and I cut into it, it was bloody red. I had to wait for our server to come back, explain that they need to make it well done, she said she was sorry, and would have it done the way I asked. They brought it back, the first slice seemed to be ok, but by the time I reached the third cutting of the Prime Rib, it again was deep red. Disgusted, I again waited for the server and told her this is crazy, how many times do I have to tell you I want this well done and you continue to bring this back to me rare??? Again I waited for them to try and cook the meat like I requested, and finally, after all of my family was done eating their dinners, I received mine, and ate it, but the quality was poor, very fatty to say the least. Seeing that I was the one paying the bill, I walked around our table and asked my family how they liked their dinner, and they told me the lobster was " rubbery", the salmon was very bland and not tasty, scallops were tough and the list goes on. When youre paying a good amount of money for rather expensive dinners, the taste should be great, along with the taste of it and the service should be that of the same, which it wasnt... Conclusion.... we all have the benefit of being able to choose our restaurants, and unfortunately, next go-round, the choice WILL NOT be the Tuckahoe!

This is by far one of my all time favorite restaurants in South Jersey. It left a lasting impression on my husband and I so much that we had our wedding here in 2009. We had about 80 guests in their main dinning area...Everyone RAVED about the food (especially the crab cakes). The event coordinator at the Tuckahoe went above and beyond to make it a perfect day for us. She did all the behind the scene coordination with the DJ, cake delivery, decorations, menu selection, and all included in our banquet price. Whatever we wanted it was done, and the staff even took my decorations ideas and developed a few of their own to add to the ambience of the wedding, which took my breath away as I walked in. They transformed the place into a whimsical candle lit beach resort on the water. It was super affordable too compared to other restaurants/banquet halls we went to on the water. I attached a few pictures. It can get a little congested in the summer with the wait and service but thats expected for any restaurant at the beach! The food is out of this world and the price is extremely affordable for the location and menu selection. Plus, if you dont want to go all fancy they give you options that are around $10 for sandwiches and have live outdoor music in the summer for a low key atmosphere. Its perfect for a first date or a night away from the kids, I suggest requesting a seat on their patio overlooking the bay :)

Doesnt compare to the Franklinville Inn, we showed up on a Thursday night, res. for 7 pm, one of our party members was going to be 15 minutes late and they almost wouldnt seat us until he arrived. Which didnt really matter because we werent asked for our choices until 30 minutes later. On top of that our meal didnt come out until 8:30. One of the sides that I wanted with my meal was told to me by the waiter to be out of. When the meals came out two of my party members had the sides that i was just told they were out of. When i pressed for an answer i got a question "have you ever worked in a restaurant? In the kitchen they dont know that I have to deal with people like you" What??? Something else was brought up by the same waiter which had no business in any conversation. I emailed the owner/chef and was told in so many words that this didnt happen, since he saw no way to apologize for the bad experience I said that is fine, dont expect a good review. Upon that I was told " I also suggest you consult a lawyer" in response to a negative review. Reviews are freedom of speech. Food was OK, but for the money I had better.

Management and the hostess are so rude and not accommodating. We called and ask for a reservation stating that we would be there in 15 minutes, she told us it would be fine. We arrived and were asked to wait another 15 minutes which resulted in a 45 minute wait while the hostess called every name but ours. When we asked to speak with a manager after paying for our meal (which included dinner rolls with a long hair and dirty water glasses) the manager Got very angry and defensive claiming our names were on a call ahead list not a reservation list, stating all the parties before ours were reservations. The hostess pointed out our partys name on this "call ahead list" we were third or fourth and every name but ours was crossed off. The manager also claimed that another manager bought us a round of drinks, this is not true. We paid the full bill with no discounts of any sort. The only reason I am giving this place a 2 star review instead of one is because the food is amazing and the wait staff is great. NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE, EXPECT TO BE LIED TO ABOUT WAIT TIMES. NEVER COMING BACK!!

Came here for the Tuckahoe Triathlon. I was slightly disappointed to see the only food establishment kept to their regular hours instead of opening early for onlookers and participants. Even just opening or offering a coffee and tea stand across the street would have been great business. Especially when the race tells/ recommends reservations for after the event. I did walk across the street once they opened and easily made a reservation. To my surprise when we were done at the try they werent packed. Missed opportunity in my opinion since this is my industry and expertise. The positive by far was the waitress Brooked. She was extremely outgoing, friendly and inviting when we sat down. She was also very attentive and accommodating. The food was pretty good too we had a vegetarian omelette that was packed with fresh veggies and the sausage and biscuits. Both dishes were very filling. Will be back again hopefully they will be open earlier for the Triathlon next year or at least off coffee and tea to participants in return for being promoted.

Heres the deal - if you go on a weeknight with a reservation for the last seating at 8:30 p.m. (regardless of your occasion, special or casual), you will be told if you are three minutes late for that seating by the host who is literally looking at their watch and berate you for being late as soon as you walk through the door (no kidding!), then the wait staff will rudely give you the bums rush with regard to their service to you and remind you that the kitchen is closing several times, and then the manager will take an attitude of "what do you want me to do about it?" Who needs that? Nobody! Should’ve turned right around and left when the host informed us that we were three minutes late for our reservation. Recommendation - skip the rude service and overpriced meals and pick another place with a beautiful view to spend your money, be treated well, enjoy a fine meal and relax. You deserve it! A beautiful view alone does not a great dining experience make.
