10-15 years ago, this was the place to go, but sadly it has declined. Maybe I have gotten used to the amazing Mexican food at Juanitas in Red Bank, or from Cinco De Mayo in New Brunswick, but those other reviewers who call this place "authentic Mexican" have probably never had authentic Mexican, and Casa Comida rounds out the bottom of the curve. Their salsa comes from Path Mark, and their nachos/chips reminds me of the intro scene to the movie Step Brothers. Pile of chips, handful of cheese, scoop of ground beef, 2 minutes in the microwave. They now market themselves as a Bar, specializing in margarita specials, with a restaurant attached. Also they have live music of white people singing cover songs on the nights where the radio isnt playing Beyonce and Bieber. I could imagine the "Restaurant Impossible" people coming in here and doing away with all the non-Mexican stuff and authenticating this place back to how it used to be. One saving grace is that you get huge portions and will always leave with a doggy bag!

I had to read some of the reviews to see how this place has over 2 stars! Food is edible...thats the extent of the food situation. Food doesnt taste good, most of it is bland and soggy. The tortillas werent fresh tasting and were cold. Meat is bland and the chicken looked like it was blown up with TNT. Happy hour has decent priced drinks and the all you can eat is cheap, but the food you are eating is cheap too so it isnt worth it. When I was a kid this place used to have mice running around and was really gross. Its cleaned up a bit and I didnt see mice the last time I was there but the food still sucks. Im surprised this place is still open after all these years to be honest. Staff was always friendly I have to point out. Smiles and didnt have to wait for food long.

Worse place ever. A group of us went to dinner on 4th of July . When they came to bring the water the bus boy or waiter dropped the tray with the ice water on me, soaked me completely. Of course the kid was very apologetic and I wasnt even mad at him ...it was a mistake . But the owner or manager did not once come to the table and acknowledge what had happened . Even after my husband went over to tell her I was wet and cold. All she did is send the kid over with a jacket for me to put on. To add salt to injury as we were leaving the waitress told us the kid was her brother but she didnt tell us cause she didnt want it to affect her tip. Thats the worse customer service I have ever experienced and as far as the food is concern not that great either

Family! This place is family run and a go-to for our family. I see Jesse and Sarah and their mother Kris more than my aunts and uncles and cousins and thats OK by me :) The service is excellent (fast, always correct down to the smallest detail) and the food is incredibly-cravably good .. Ill find myself thinking about their chips and salsa or steak fajitas on a thursday and know that friday night we will go. Also check out the chili colorado for some spice and the chimichangas if you want to spoil yourself. They have lighter fare as well which was good when my 93 year old grandmother used to go with us! -5 stars

I was visiting nj for business. I walked up to the bar, and I was welcomed with a scent similar to puke. I sit down and ask for a margarita and menu. They give me chips and salsa. The salsa is watery and bland. When my margarita arrives, I noticed a winged insect in my drink.... My burrito wad decent. When I asked for hot sauce, I was given a huge rack full of variety to choose from... Since I am traveling and only tried Cass comida, I cannot recommend another Mexican restaurant, but I do highly suggest you try somewhere else in the area.

We travel 30 minutes every Friday to Casa Comida with our family and this has been a tradition for us for over 15 years. The food, salsa & chips are always consistently delicious and the margaritas are by far the best in the area. Prices are fair for the quality of food and drinks. There is very low turnover with the service staff so the service is always excellent. The owner is doing a great job and has been for decades. This is a great example of a successful woman owned business at the Jersey Shore. Enjoy!!!

I live local to Casa Comida and go there once a week, sometimes more. Food and service is always great and Id rather dine at a local small business that specializes in Mexican food than eat at one of the chains. I recommend the Steak Fajitas or the Al Carbon burritos with the spicy sauce if you like beef/steak type of things. The fiery shrimp appetizer is great as are the soups. The parking lot is a bit small and crowded but lucky for me, I can walk there.

So we happened to be driving after day @ the beach. We decided try since parking lot was very crowded which seemed like a good sign. Chips were stale & salsa from a jar. Drink menu was complicated & we had a mediocre chicken burrito with stale rice & sloppy refried beans. Burrito was overpriced. Service was fast & waitress was polite. We ordered top shelf frozen drink but tasted like plain old frozen mixed drink. Wouldnt dine there again.

Has been my favorite mexican restaurant since I was an infant... literally. There are pictures of me gumming baby pretzels dunked in guacamole! Nachos are outstanding, enchiladas are to die for.. food is always consistent. Chips and salsa at the table = perfect. Not as busy as it used to be, which worries me because Ill be devastated if they close!

Good atmosphere nice view of lake. Worst food I ever had!!! BLAND bland bland...had tacos tasted like sloppy joe mix from a package. Shrimp scallop dish had good flavor but was disgustingly covered in crap cheese. Burrito was gross. Shrimp fajita was sweet and sour just weird! Whatever the sauce was they poured on at the end. Horrible

LOVE Casa Comida! The food is good (and consistent; weve gone there for years!) And the location is nice. The waitstaff is always friendly and the service is quick. And, not that it may matter to others, the bathrooms are always clean. I think it helps that the owner has been on the premises every time weve gone there.

I dont do this often but I felt people should have a warning about this place. Tastes like store bought Mexican food. It is overpriced for what it is, as well. On top of that the service was poor and the drinks seemed to have barely any alcohol. I strongly advise against going here.

Been going for years..tonight was the last. Waitress was impatient. Place was empty. All three dinners were mediocre. Nothing was hot. The guacamole was so bland. The fried ice cream was different. Maybe its a new owner, if it is they are in trouble. Sorry Casa Comida.
