The food is just as dusty as the decor. Its early Saturday afternoon. You could easily count on one hand how many people were there and we still couldnt get good service. The guy who seated us groaned and rolled his eyes (ok maybe hes having a bad day). The waitress was nice but hacked a cough right into her hands infront of us and the other table she was serving :-( . There were dust on over filled sugar packets containers, the window seal. Decor & interior needs maintenance. No bad or old smell went you walk in though. Nats and flies hovering around. Waitress brought the butter out and it already had bits of bread crumbs in it. :-| The food looked good when it arrived but tasteless when eatten. The French Toast is greasy :-(. Pork sausage & pancakes are passible. Bacon & eggs was ok. We had to keep our head affixed to the plate so that a nat wouldnt land on our food (so annoying but what can u do its nature). I thought, maybe if i was sick this would be a place to come too since the food wasnt overly seasoned and plain. NOPE The last bite of french toast tasted like cleaner and I spit it back out as quick as i could so i wouldnt get food poisoning. I was so done and wanted to get out of there. Our waitress forgot us and never came back to check on us or give us the check so we had to get up ourselves and ask for the check to leave. One waiter apologized & printed one for us. The woman at the cash register had no manners. She never looked me or my husband in the eye to greet him, give him the receipt, take his money, and even to say goodbye her head was down looking at the register. So rude. She wouldnt acknowledge us at all. Didnt even ask if the food and service was ok. The price was great but dang sure not for this kind of service and "quality" control over food. Never ever again & thank God neither one of us got sick that day.

My husband and I were there about an hour ago. It was absolutely horrible. Worst diner experience of our lives. From the moment we walked in, the greeter/hostess was scowling and barely spoke except for saying "two?" Put menus on a table and walked away. Our waiter seemed to only want to speak to my husband not me. I asked for ice water and my husband asked for iced tea. He received a regular sized glass of ice tea, I received two juice glasses of water. My husband ordered a daily special of Prime Rib, with salad, french fries and slaw. He was assured the prime rib was medium rare..what he got was overly well done..dry. Horrible. He tried smothering it in A-1 sauce and that did not work. The dried meat literally sucked the sauce up and was still dry!!! He also had ordered salad with Italian dressing. The salad arrived with dressing literally dripping off the sides of the plate. It had just been thrown on the plate! The waiter had listed veggies for us and I ordered the corn. He neglected to tell me it was corn on the cob! It looked to be about 3 days old! Suffice it to say our visit to this "lovely from the outside" diner will be our first and last!! The hostess was having a bad day, the waiter was incompetent and rude to put it nicely. The elderly woman at the register didnt even ask how we "enjoyed" our meal and Im sure I know why. She didnt want to hear any more negative reviews. The man who was sitting behind us...also had a very bad experience and in his own words..."could not wait to get the hell out of there!" We will not be returning to Six Brothers again. Horrible service...horrible food....horrible experience!

When my wife and I first moved to New Jersey, we decided to try a real NJ diner and the Six Brothers diner was the one we chose. She got a tuna melt and I got a Reuben. Both were delicious, huge portions, no complaints. A few weeks later, we decided to go there again. Unfortunately, shortly after we had been seated (and BEFORE we had ordered) my wife began having a panic attack, which happens occasionally, especially in public places. I told the waitress that my wife was sick and we would have to leave. She then told us wed have to pay a "seating charge!" $2.00 per person just because wed sat down for five minutes without ordering anything! I explained again that we werent leaving because we just decided not to eat there, my wife was sick. She said, sorry, thats our policy. When we went up front, one of the managers was there. I again, asked him if he would be kind enough to waive the seating charge (if Id had cash on me I probably just would have paid it, but didnt feel like charging $4.00 to my credit card). He said, sorry, its our policy. I asked if I purchased something for takeout, would we still have to pay the seating charge. He said no, so we each got a dessert out of the bakery display and left. Due to their treatment of us, and do to the ridiculous policy of charging people $2.00 a head if they decide to leave without ordering, I will never go to that diner again. We go to the Park West Diner instead. The same thing happened there once and they didnt even make us pay for the drinks wed ordered.

I love this place! I unfortunately needed to attend a funeral of a wonderful woman. And, I wanted to bring a dish for after the service. I contacted Six Brothers to see if they offered this service, and I spoke with George. He said, they were just starting this service and did not have their pricing and menu available on the website. However, I told him what I was looking for and asked him for a recommendation. He recommended their Ziti and Chicken in Vodka sauce and he gave me a really good price. After the service, there was a lot of food available to eat compared to the people in attendance (and there was a lot of people in attendance) that afterwards we delivered trays of left over food to a local food panty. BUT, none of the Ziti was left! In fact, all throughout the meal, everyone kept asking who bought the Ziti and raved about the taste. They loved it! Oh...by the way, I called George Sunday afternoon to place this order, and he had it ready for me Monday morning at 8 am. I always loved that place, but I love them even more after each visit!

Worst customer service experience. We ordered 2 orders of GREEK YOGURT & FRESH BLUEBERRY PANCAKES ($8.45) From the breakfast menu. The waitress was nice, came back and asked us if we wanted strawberries or blueberries with the yogurt, without a second thought we chose one of each. When we asked for the check the bill totaled more than $30 and we hadnt ordered any drinks. I went up to the register looked at the menu to check the price. I told the man and he made the change. After everything was settle the man and the waitress came back to our table as we were getting ready to leave and started screaming that we were wrong that we ordered 4 separate meals. It seemed that the waitress wanted to look good in front of the manager. The man kicked us out. Very poor customer service, we felt insulted, the man at the cash register almost hit on of my friends with the menu. This happen today May 6th at around 1am. The worst experience of my life
