I went to this place for the first time late last week. And these are my thoughts on this place: 1) The people that work here do not treat women with any respect. I went with a male friend and the waiter didnt even look me in the eye...poured his glass first...and only asked him if there is anything that he can get him. 2) For indian food, nothing special...it was okay...more towards the bland side. 3) The place was dirty, from first impressions....it looked like a flea circus. The bathroom in paticular was filthy, maybe because it is a womans room. But our forks were dirty and there was lipstick stains on the glass. Needless to say..I would never go back to this place again.

Over all this is a very good restaurant. Its food is excellent and the staff are very friendly. The only problem I had is they dont provide enough rice with the meals. If there are 2 people eating you only get enough rice for one and have to pay extra for another. The prices are high enough that they really should include the rice with the meal. They also charge you extra for the nane. The mango lassie is very good. I also like that they easily accommodate you if you want your food to not be so spicy. I strongly recommend that you call before you pick up takeout. Its a long wait to just drop in however the food is worth waiting for.

Simply outstanding. This place borderlines on an addiction for me - I find myself thinking about it at random times through the day. I regularly visit two days in a row and am considering going for both the lunch buffet and dinner. The place was amazing before they got a new chef. This new chef is a magician of Indian cuisine. The array of spices that dance on your taste-buds will leave you on another planet of satisfaction. GO....NOW!

By far the best Indian food I have eaten in NJ. Excellent staff, great food. Highly recommended. Their chicken tikka masala compares to the best I have had anywhere...& I am embarassed to say I have had chicken Tikka masala in about 16 countries, including India! I might add that I am an Indian & find most Indian restaurants in NJ below average.

Excellent quality every time Ive gone here. The chicken (any kind) is cooked perfectly and is white breast meat better than chain restaurants. It had been awhile since they closed due to the fire but since reopening Ive been there several times and its just as consistent and delicious as before. Beware ordering spicy, they dont mess around.

Been eating at the Clay Oven for years and last night was the first time since they re-opened. It was as good as I remember it, maybe better. Everything from the samosas, naan (they have the best naan bread Ive ever had), chicken tikka masla, tandoori shrimp rocked! Try it again Pronk.

I went here with colleagues about seven weeks ago and we were delightfully surprised by how good the food is. The restaurant itself is kind of a hole-in-the-wall and will not impress with the its ambiance. I agree that it was pretty chilly inside. But I fully plan to go back again!

I live in Columbus, OH and stopped by here due to my travels. By far, THE best Chicken Makhani I have ever had in my life. Sounds like Im exaggerating but if you try it, you will agree! Meat was so tender and the sauce is impeccable!

Went with friends and my wife. We love coming here. Service was excellent. The food is wonderful. We drive 30 minutes to be spoiled with this wonderful Indian food. I highly recommend the Clay Oven.
