This is my new go to spot. I was however concerned about the police presence last night, but I do understand that all bars that are in the heart of a residential neighborhood go through this. Its a nice alternative to the bars that I go to in my area, Im actually thinking about coming back for a second night in a row tonight. The food has not disappointed the two times Ive been. Hopefully I can get there early so that I can get a seat in a different area than the one I was sitting in last night.

Small & quaint spot, looks like the word hasnt quite gotten out yet, or it could be because of the rain because tonight was battle of the DJs and there wasnt a crowd, this spot should have been packed which wouldnt take much since its so small. Nice ambiance, clean & cozy, friendly staff and low low prices, good finger food, something to do since it seems like they pretty much have something going on every night of the week, beats staying home. Give Gavelstone Bar & Grill a try.

First time Ive been there , theyve remodeled it and it looks amazing, new management and new vibe. Its very reminiscent of NYC bars on the east side. Chic & trendy, rare to find a bar like this around here. The music was awesome, the crowd was diverse , the hosts were friendly from the waitress to the manager to the owner. New go-to spot.

Every bartender here is extremely fast, friendly, and personable. The food is delicious, (my favorite is the artichoke dip). The owners are always nearby and make an effort to introduce themselves and remember not only your name but your favorite drink. They remodeled the place, and its really nice and clean.

Reasonably glossy refurbishment of former Michigan Pub, with a diverse mix of ethnicities both sides of the bar. Beer selection largely unchanged - still nothing from Climax brewing less than a mile away. Bit expensive for essentially a neighbourhood bar without food.

Sign says M-F lunch special... Went on a Friday just before 1pm and were told lunch special ended at noon. Really?! No wonder the place was empty. Good beer selection. Standard bar food. Music a little loud for lunchtime.
