The best cheesesteak in Philly isnt really in Philly! Its in a suburb of Philly, Sharon Hill. (Leos Steaks - check em out!) Wait, what? Why is he rambling about cheesesteaks? Because this situation is analogous. New Brunswick is home to a dizzying array of central and southern Mexican cuisine, from taco stands to bodegas, to bakeries, restaurants, and everything in between. But ... the best Mexican food isnt in New Brunswick. Its across the river, in Highland Park! This quaint location has a small but varied menu, choosing execution over variety. Meals use fresh ingredients and are prepared quickly. Service is prompt and friendly. In another nice change from New Brunswick, street parking is free, and easy. Take the short trip over the river. Youll be glad you did!

I LOVE breakfast/brunch food. Its filling. Its healthier than other foods you would normally have when you eat out (or at least I like to tell myself that). And its just comforting. I had the Wanderer (a skillet filled with peasant potatoes, crisp bacon, onions, tomatoes and combo cheese, all topped with two basted eggs), for takeout. You would think that everything would be soggy and cold but it was actually still really good. It wasnt hot anymore, but it was still warm. Eggs? Good! Cheese? Good! Bacon? GOOD! I wouldnt mind coming back and dining in at Le Peep to try their dishes fresh. I bet they would be even more amazing!

The staff and service here are fantastic. The menu selections Ive tried always have fresh ingredients and hearty portions (I like bringing home food to share or to eat the next day). I love the colors and decor in the restaurant. They are so bright and cheerful. The chips and salsa while you wait are delicious. I tend to keep the green salsa to myself. :) And freshly squeezed orange juice is something I always order. I had forgotten how noticeably different from store-bought it is how refreshing. Did I mention that the staff and service are outstanding? ;)

Delicious food and reasonable prices! If youre looking for some real Mexican food instead of that poor excuse of fast food Mexican look no further, I highly recommend the tacos. The waitstaff was friendly, the food came quickly, and the chips and salsa as soon as we sat down were wonderful! The waitress even ran down the sidewalk to return the sunglasses my daughter forgot. We will be back to eat there again soon.

Great Food, Great Price. You will leave full. I went here a couple times and the service has been exactly the same. Very friendly waiters that give you free chips and salsa and are always aware when your drink is low. The prices are great and the portion along with it is even better. Parking is on-street, but its free. Highly recommend if youre passing through/dont want to spend a lot of cash.

Lots of vegetarian options with a separate menu. Food is authentic and flavorful. The service is bit too aggressive. We had a waiter come ask for drinks 3 times before we could decide. And then twice for the meal. The place wasnt crowded so Im not sure what the rush was.

Great Mexican Food!! The service was great, very fast, and good portions for the money. The horchata and enchiladas were fantastic, and we loved the intimacy of the place. Beats going to a chain restaurant any day. Looking forward to many more visits in the future.

Highland Park is lucky to have such a fantastic Mexican Restaurant. The waitstaff are fantastic and the food delicious. When my young niece starting having a fit the waiter brought over a Dum Dum lollipop and she calmed right down.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area! The food is delicious and very authentic. The ambiance and decorations make you feel like you are visiting Mexico. The staff are super friendly too. Overall a great experience.

This place is so delicious (and inexpensive), my partner and I have become regulars. Theyve got an excellent vegetarian selection -I recommend the veggie quesadilla or veggie enchiladas. Great friendly service too!
