The Market Basket is a specialty food store and caters to the affluent neighborhood. If offers the best fresh fish and butcher area of any market around. It also offers prepared foods so its easy to grab something when dinner needs to be on the table. They have a nice selection of cheese, the fruits and veggies always look nice, the bakery is great, and it offers a superb deli. Having said that, the place is expensive because it offers high end things. The prepared food is over rated. Its good but its not fantastic. The seared salmon is always great. The crab cakes are tasteless and too bready (especially for the money). The salads are way overpriced. The catering menu is predictable. The company is well run and the market is consistent. I would go there for a good piece of meat or fish; a specialty jam, spread or cheese; a sandwich or some of their prepared meals. I get the main stay and all the Staples up the road at Shop Rite. This is a great store where youre sure to find something. They give back a tremendous amount to the community and support very worthy charitable causes.

Let me first start off by saying, Market Basket has to be the greatest food market my friend and I have ever been to. Let me first start off by saying that we are from Mt. Olive, and around here, the best we have are Shoprites. The Market Basket just completely demolishes franchises such as Shoprite and Pathmark in every aspect. The ambience was friendly and very hospitable since the time we walked in to the check out. Make sure, when you go there to get a sandwhich. For only 6 bucks you get a sandwhich jam-packed with fresh meats, vegetables, and delicious dressing. We recommed "The Smoker" and the "Reuben" sandwhich.

Living in Wyckoff, I frequently shop at the Market Basket and have always been MOREthan satisfied with the quality of food. From the enormous fresh shrimp, deli sandwiches, specialty oils, meats, and pignoli cookies (which are difficult to find elsewhere) everything is first rate. The staff, without fail, is courteous and accommodating. I LOVE this place!!

By far the best gourmet food store! From the Deli to the Bakery to the Fish Department everything is absolutely delicious. Customer service is beyond nice, helpful, and friendly! They cater all of my parties and everytime the staff and of course the food is absolutely lovely. Could never go wrong with Market Basket!!

A local favorite. Grew from a much smaller location a few miles down the road. You will be amazed at the quality of food available here. Everything is fantastic. Sandwiches are to-die-for. Staff is Super Friendly. A little pricey but you get exactly what you pay for.

The potato salad from the Market Basket of my youth was amazing! We recently went to New Jersey , and stopped by to get some. It was terrible much like the stuff from the 5 gallon buckets they sell in chain stores. Very disappointing.
