Amazing Trolls
Extremely bad experience. I have been to so many Japanese restaurant from east to west coast, never had such a bad experience. First, the food is so-so. It could be a 3. The service was bad, that explains why all the tables are empty on a Sat. night. I went there because we live within 5 miles range and I saw the Groupon titled "$20 for $40 Worth of Japanese Cuisine for Two at Arisu". I decided to try. 6 of us went there. There was a fine print on the Groupon "Not valid for sushi or sashimi platters.". The menu has "sushi/sashimi platters" section. 4 of us ordered items from other sections, and 2 of us tried to order platters. It was refused because they said as long as it was one check, no platters were allowed. Okay! So we tried to order two "Entries" items, "Sushi Bento". We were told we cannot order it! Why? It was not even listed as a platter! They told me platters and this one Entries item cannot be ordered even it was not listed on the Groupon! So we tried to order sushi and sashimi piece by piece, again, they told us that cannot be ordered! OMG! what can we eat in this JAPANESE restaurant then? Maybe we can order a Pizza here? Finally we found something we can order in the entries as a replacement. It suppose to include Misu soup and Salad, they did NOT give to us! I was tired to ask. We ordered a pot of tea, when the tea pot went low, we asked to refill some hot water, we were told cannot be done! OMG! Do they need to charge to refill water too? All the other Sushi/Japanese restaurants I have been to were happy to refill my tea pot. I did not ask to add new tea leaves!...only water! After all disappointment, the waiter finally did fill our pot and told us that was only one exception for us. Why would a restaurant use Groupon? They want to attract new customers to come back again and again. If so, the Arisu has failed completely. They have dropped potential customers for things like no refilling of hot water to a tea pot, not allowing customer to order most of the food on the menu! With such limited mind, how can a business succeed? When I eat out with 6 people in other places, often time, we were offered with items on the house. I feel Arisu were determined to lose customers. The management of the place really needs to go to the class for business 101! In fact, if they allowed us to order the things we wanted to, we would actually spend much more money for that dinner. Totally disappointment and complete shock of how they are running a business! Well never go there again, there are plenty of Japanese restaurants around the area, competition is fierce, I know Arisu will lose the game and close soon.

My son has very severe allergies, one of the very few foods he can eat is Salmon Sashimi. I stopped by on my way home from work because it was on my way home. (usually I go to Koto in Jackson NJ 5 Stars), This was a mistake. Friday night 6 PM and the place was dead, however the plaza is high end and the atmosphere is very good in the restaurant. I told the younger man who spoke perfect English I need 24 pieces (12 orders) of salmon sahimi with nothing extra added (no ginger wasabi, decorations leaves, just plain salmon sahimi). The chef also spoke English well and I reiterated my concern about cross contamination and how the knives needed to be cleaned etc etc. The chef completely understood and I was asked to take a seat. I paid (over paid) almost 50 dollars for this stuff, and twenty minutes later it came out in a cheap shopping bag. I opened it up and amazingly what I requested was completely ignored. The sashimi had vegetable decorations around it and the glass noddle like stuff thats used to garnish sashimi dishes. I expressed my concern to the young man who brought me the bag, He said it will be corrected and apologized. I told him the dish needs to be redone in entirety due to cross contamination from the other items that were not supposed to be added to the order. Keep in mind the first order took 20 minutes to get to me, however the second time around it took less then 5. I was shocked and asked the younger man are you sure everything was redone. He insisted it was. I went home that evening and washed the sushi is fresh spring water as I always do just in case there was any cross-contamination. My son who waits for this special event once a week bit into the first piece and spit it out he said dad this tastes weird and very chewy. I told him to try another piece and he said it does not taste like any salmon sushi he ever had before (he eats salmon sahimi every week and from many different restaurants, when we travel, in the country and world). I tried it also and found it to be very chewy and almost impossible to swallow. We threw out this junk we were give by Arisu that night. I would never go again to this place and look forward to them going out of business. They are: Highly overpriced (2.50 per piece of salmon sushi, almost double other restaurants) Arrogant Horrendous quality of food Cheaters (serving the wrong dish to me the first time and just taking out what was the issue and serving it to me again, no concern about my sons safety) Thank you Arisu for wasting my time, money and disappointing a 13 year old boy who waits every week for his salmon sahimi.

The service at this restaurant was the worst Ive had since I can remember. My husband ordered the crab tempura It was cold. We let the pass then We waited and waited for dinner. Then they came out to clarify the order which implied they hadnt even begun to cook it. We were just about to leave when one of the dinners came out. The tempura again was cold we sent that back. Then the second dinner came out. The shrimp and scallops were hot and good but all the vegetables were cold. Very disappointing. The owner was in the place and didnt even come over to talk to us. Dont bother with this place.

not good experience at all. We were so exited to eat some sushi so we decided to go to Arisu. We ordered octopus salad and sushi. When I drank my drink, I saw that there is little floating flies. I was shocked .When I showed them my drink I have not even heard simple apology. After few minutes they brought me another drink......and of coarse there were flies again. So I told them again, but they were not worried at all. I was not going to pay for sod with flies. My Summary : they dont care about their customers ,and they dont keep their food fresh.

I will definately come back, service was outstanding, food was fresh and NYC quality. I came with my family after a snow storm, we had sushi for 2, the boys had rolls and a bowl of noodles. They came by with tea, edamame and green tea ice cream for the kids. It is BYOB-which we like. On the way out they gave our kids a Christmas present and let them watch the chefs! I think the decor is beautiful and welcoming all at once. We used a great coupon and I am so glad we tried it!
