My wife, daughter and myself stopped into the Shore Diner this past Sunday for brunch. We were passing time between a morning rehearsal and an afternoon performance for my daughter at a dance competition in the area. She was in a warm-up suit, my wife and I dressed in summer casual. Upon entering the diner, we felt that we might be under-dressed, as the staff is outfitted in black dress slacks, white tuxedo-style shirts and bow-ties. After a couple of minutes, we were seated in a far back room that seemed to be set aside mostly for larger parties, including a family gathering of 15 seated along one side of the room. As we followed the fast-moving hostess through the rest of the restaurant, I did see others dressed as we were, so Im not sure if my first impression was correct or not. Our waitress was not a woman of many words. I dont really mind that, but when my wife asked if it were possible to substitute a pancake for the standard home fries with her omelet, the waitress snapped "No, we cant," ending that discussion. Our meals were good, the open-faced Reuben was one of the best Ive had, and my wife did enjoy the Western omelet. My daughters Buffalo chicken sandwich was a bit dry and tough, but no more so than shes had in other restaurants. The party of 15 finished while we were eating, and their table was cleared in a rush. Another large group came in about the time our waitress cleared away our plates, leaving us with nearly-empty coffee cups, no check, and the opportunity to watch one of her co-workers in action. Over the next 20 minutes, we watched as the family group was seated, water brought, and their orders taken. Almost all of them were special orders, ranging from simple substitutions of side dishes, to a request for an omelet made only with egg whites, no butter, and with salt substitute. The waitress wrote it all down, repeating it back for confirmation, and headed off to the kitchen. During this time, not a sign of our waitress. Finally, she arrived with the bill. Just under $39 for lunch for 3 adults. High where I come from, but not, I think, unreasonable. After paying the bill at the front register, I asked to speak with the manager, and told him of the treatment wed experienced. As I have no intention of either returning to the Shore Diner, nor of trying to short them on the price of the meal, I didnt feel it necessary to give him an opportunity to make amends - it was too late for that.

My family and I went to this diner, and we had the absolute worst experience. First off, the food that we ordered was cold, and wasnt freshly made. The quality was also very poor. We ordered 2 steaks and both didnt taste good, and knowing that it was over $20 for each we expected much better. Also, we ordered sweet potato fries and you can tell they had been sitting in the kitchen for awhile because they tasted old. They were also soggy. I ordered salmon, and it was too salty and didnt taste good at all. Also, we were given a plastic bag full of different types of old and discarded bread. It seemed like it was just leftover bread they just wanted to get rid of, and just put in a plastic bag. The bread tasted as if it had been sitting for awhile in the kitchen. I wouldve put zero stars if I could. Overall, the diner serves expensive and poor quality food, and my family and I expected so much better.

In town for business and was staying at the Days Inn right behind the restaurant , typical extensive diner menu , ordered the chicken pot pie flaky crust , plenty of vegetables , however a toothpick size chicken bone hidden inside , came very close to being lodged in throat , the waitress returned and asked if everything was ok , I showed her the bone and explained what happened and she went to get manager , when he arrived he asked what happened , I explained and he said the reason there was a bone inside is that they use real chicken , and that proves it , I advised him I did not order BONE IN CHICKEN POT PIE! , he asked me what I wanted , I said just bring me check so I can leave , he then offered me ice cream to make up for it ! My advice is to chew your food very carefully here , one star is for nice waitress

What a disappointment! This diner used to pride themselves on the presentation & quality of their food. I didnt feel like cookies my dinner & was looking forward to a delicious crab cake sandwich platter for my self & my husband & instead was surprised with a over cooked crabby patty ,10 soggy French fries at most ,No napkins,no plastic silverware to eat the bit of Cole slaw with no tarter or cocktail sauce & my roll had old on it.I was literally embarrassed to serve my husband this for dinner .Not sure what happened here but now they are just another mederoic diner in the pike.Disapointed to say the least

I brought my family there while on a short vacation with relatives. We went to this establishment after a strangers recommendation and were hugely disappointed. The wait staff were short and rude and didnt even acknowledge we had children with us. The manager on duty was a slim, tall guy, (I wish I could remember his name) was very smug and did not seem to appreciate us being there. I will never return to this "diner", nor will I recommend it to any other family of friends. "Disturbed from PA"

The food was overpriced and rather bland, definitely not what I expected with a "diner." Even the fries were a let down, a small hand full and they tasted almost certainly previously frozen. And if you want to drown your disappointment in beer, expect to pay for one bottle of Yuengling what you can hop over to PA and pay for a six pack. Again, overpriced AND NOT REASONABLY PRICED unless your idea is paying $10 for a disappointing chicken salad sandwich.

I went here just a couple of weeks ago for breakfast, and the service was TERRIBLE. The waitress I had checked on all her other customers several times and did not once come to my table to check on me, but only to give me my check at the end of the meal. The room they had us in smelled awful like mildew, and I almost walked out based on that - I should have. The food wasnt good, and it was very expensive. Save your money - eat elsewhere.

Hot cakes fluffy, vegetable omelet very good. Coffee hot and not too weak. Food came out quickly and hot. Server very friendly and not overly attentive (a plus in my book.) She came over a couple times to ask how everything was and to offer more coffee. A good choice for breakfast.

Being what some people call a "Celebrity Chef" and a lover of really good creamed dried beef for breakfast, I couldnt help but notice the menu description mention "bechamel sauce", so I took a chance and ordered it, BIG MISTAKE! Stick to bacon and eggs, and pancakes here.
