I always liked this place since I moved to town 8 years ago, but lately its not quite up to par. The place has an odd odor like dirty mop water, and the food now is just ok. I always ordered the chicken soup because it was amazing. Not anymore. Everytime I order it it either has nothing but slimy dark meat, pieces of blubber(fat) in it or unidentified dark pieces of what I can only guess are burned onion skins(I HOPE) What happened? Again this is only my opinion, you dont have to like it, I just wont be going back Doesnt matter if they care. Im stating my opinion!

Best diner Ive ever been to. Everything tastes like its homemade. The menu is enormous and every dish was amazing. Every dish had a lot of food, but not where I couldnt finish. Pot roast, prime rib, even spinach pie, everything I had was delicious. Great service and really low prices. This is the fourth time Ive been here, while Ive been in this town for training. Im looking for the negatives, but cant think of any.

I dont know how a previous reviewer called Bus Stop expensive. For generally less than $15 I get salad, soup, main course and dessert. And dinner time includes fresh baked corn muffins- mmm. All this equals 2 meals at least when I pack up my extras. Always a friendly come on in and have a seat feeling. A Carteret tradition and worth considering.

Oh man... you had to roll me out of this place after breakfast. Its no joke. Great food, cool diner atmosphere, and the coffee was decent. I got more than my moneys worth. Also they give you a REAL side of bacon. Not some skimpy 2 strip thing that gets stuck in your teerh. If Im ever in this part of NJ again, Im definitely stopping.

Giant Pants

Amazing hidden gem. The food is reasonable. The wait staff was knowledgeable. The first time I came to town we were welcomed as if we were old friends that went away for a long time and just came home. Try the lumberjack breakfast, the sausages are the best.

Yo this place is terrible, just by looking at the location and the area. Smh I shouldve known better. Theres cross contamination all over this place and thats only from the waitress, lord knows what the cooks do in the kitchen.

Friendly. Clean. Decent freshly prepared food. Service was a little slow. I wouldnt specifically plan to go there, but its a good option if youre in the area, especially at night when most other places are closed.

The food is fair. The atmosphere is a little gross. Service is spotty. Im amending a previous 2 star review because one of the older waitresses is among the nicest people Ive met in New Jersey.

A great place with great food. They have lots of seating so you will most likely not have to wait. If you do, it is a short one. The staff and owner are always very helpful and friendly!

Huge variety with daily specials including soups, salads, fish, burgers, wraps and more! I love their burgers especially and the service is exemplary. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner!
